Will You Be Back At Sheffield In 2014
The Third Man replied to MWC's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
speedway tracks die when they dont have enough support the ones that dont go dont care, so use it ot lose it doesnt matter to them, they have nothing to lose, they dont go anyway PS might have a bit more enthusiasm this season, it has been too easy to find an excuse not to go for the last two years -
he knows how to solve the problem of the sun on the back straight
-
only thought it had been forgotten about because it hasnt been mentioned anywhere, happy that it hasn't ps happy new year
-
Once the team, and air fence, are sorted the next thing needs to be a well deserved testimonial for Ricky, something that seems to have been forgot about
-
i think i know my mind better than you vissing wasnt just dangerous, he watched cooper coming past him all the way down the back straight and then put his back wheel in his way forcing him into the fence at high speed, not just dirty but on purpose, i would never cheer for this rider. Gathercole wasnt far off doing the same thing to birko, he just speared him and sent him into the fence, both Sheffield riders were very lucky to walk away, not something i will forget even if they did ride for us, which i hope they will never do neither rider went to the other to see how they were, vissing even coming out for a lap of honour even though he was taken out of his next race
-
there was a worse one, vissing on coops, vissing is another rider i could never support after that move
-
The latest i have heard is that is still a lot going on behind the scenes, so i think Sheffield will be there come March / April

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
The Third Man replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
think you need to yalk to him before you decide the reason he wants to sell up, and he is not emigrating to Australia this winter, he has already said he would help the new promoter if he wants help -
Just a thought, but do new promoters get a vote at the conference?

R/r For A Rider Riding Elsewhere?
The Third Man replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
RR used to be for an injured heat leader, guests for your number 1 then RR was for any of the top 5 and then guests for the highest scoring reserve as well as number 1 now we have RR for riders that are not injured, How long before we have guests or RR for any of the 1 to 7 for no other reason than they dont like the away track their team is riding at, i It would make the away team more competetive and according to the arguement for guests above, increase the crowd The untimate solution is to just name any seven available riders you can find for each match, and therefore do away with guests and RR as each team will not have to sign any riders, just choose from the available pool -
i have heard that the bradford comeback is dead, if true it might leave someone interested in buying Sheffield, if it hasnt already happened that is

Rugby League Comes To Sheffield Owlerton ?
The Third Man replied to Phil's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
heard that someone is quite willing to operate at Sheffield next season, and that the deal may already be done, but we will see -
Just that at the moment, if i can confirm it i will
-
might be a very good reason for this if the rumour i have heard is true

Ipswich V Sheffield (pl) 05 Sept 2013 @ 19:30
The Third Man replied to Witches123's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
yes he would, because he has potential, thats all that matters whatever the nationality and he can entertain, which is what i go to speedway to be -
Have to agree, everybody thinks that air fences are the graet thing with no investigation as to how many injuries they prevent, how many they cause, how many riders take extra risks because of them etc. not saying i dont suppoprt them, but the only major injury at Sheffield this year would not have been prevented by an air fence
-
so you coulnt support the track at Stoke despite the air fence (Luke Priest), or other tracks where the air fence have not stopped riders getting injured? also how many incidents of fist bend bunching do you get in the GPs with air fences compared to tracks without fences? there are more of these in the average GP than there are at Sheffield on a Thursday night, and the GP riders presumably have more skill than the PL riders at sheffield there are more

Sheffield V Scunthorpe 22/8/13
The Third Man replied to tigerowl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Steady riding for Swindon was the reason for the possibility of sunday this season sunday for the PLRC is ok, but every week in the summer, other things to do at weekends , and will he run against football? or will they be blank weeks mind you Mr machin did say to me last year that no one who goes to speedway supports football anyway, how about that for knowing your support -
much too simple,
-
then why do the riders do it?
-
if the riders are so bothered about air fences why have they ridden this year, and all previous PL seasons without air fences? and why do EL riders accept guest and open meeting bookings on at tracks that dont have air fences? why was there a british semi final held at Sheffield for the last few seasons without an air fence? there must be a chance of something happening as i am sure that all the PL & NL tracks will not be in a position to buy an air fence, are they all going to close without a fight? lets wait and see
-
If the promoters havent started talking about next year by now then god help the sport everyone can see the mess its in, everyone knows there is no sky money coming in, lets hope they understand the situation and dont just bury their heads in the sand again, as usual. how many PL tracks dont have an air fence? and how many of them cant afford to buy one? lots and lots of factors that are already known now, including how much each promoter has lost this season, so there is no need to wait until november, everything can be sorted now

i remember him riding at sheffield as a mascot one of the many mascots who went on to ride elsewhere
