  1. Lower points limits and more guests will just lead to picking and chosing meetings for me, depending on the track improving, or it could be no meetings
  2. Or the opposit view that the standards in both leagues has been reduced, but there will not be a corresponding reduction in admission costs always an opposing view
  3. It will only cut costs if the riders who are in demand to complete teams dont hold the promoters to ransom for their services so I cant see it cutting costs either, unless all the promoters stick together
  4. i will wait and see, but if I feel I am losing out, I will save a lot of money and the club will lose out
  5. Speedway is a summer sport I have got used to that over 50 years of watching. Football is in winter, weekend or Tuesday nights, I have had to get used to watching at different times over the weekend I agree. but I have got into the habit of going at a weekend or a Tuesday night. In summer I do other things at weekends because the weather might be good, maybe even go to an away speedway match Speedway has on the whole been every Thursday in the summer. In the winter on Thursday I don't want to do anything else, I am content to stay at home.
  6. I have been going to football as long as I have been going to speedway, both are habit forming. Football has always been more or less every two weeks Speedway has always been every Thursday that's it, if I don't get a meeting for a month because of a rain off, that's three weeks to find something to fill my Thursday night, if it is cheaper and more entertaining I might be persuaded to go there instead, in winter I would rather stay in in the warm, and again its a habit, no speedway in winter, no football in summer the other thing is why are people looking at tweaking things, it has gone past tweaking and needs a radicle rethink before there is no speedway no it doesn't, they now only go to one match a month anyway, they don't gain and neither does the club and the club might have to pay twice the amount of rent for the stadium every two weeks, or more if the stadium is losing money for food and drink as well, because the landlords are not going to want to half their income over the summer
  7. Well done to Somerset deserved winners well done Sheffield deserved runners up
  8. The first decision for next season needs to be to get rid of Boocock, then start the team with Howarth, and making up with Garrity might be possible if the first decision happens
  9. Sheffield, hopefully with six guests and RR to upset everyone but Somerset deserve it
  10. 1968 first match of the season Sheffield v Halifax, so if I go next season it will be my 50th season
  11. Sure i attended the play off final at Wembley in May, and some of our players belonged to other clubs
  12. Think you are wrong all the PL clubs knew the rules before the season started, the league winners are the team that win the play offs teams with missing riders can use RR or guests, are we only going to allow teams with seven riders of their own in the play offs, and what happens if one of the finalists gets a rider injured in the semi final, will they not be allowed to ride in the final
  13. An absolute travesty that a team operating within the rules wins the league? What about the teams that have used guests in order to qualify for the playoffs? Or are you saying that the playoffs should be contested only by the teams that have their own seven riders, or would you allow R/R, would there have been six teams of seven riders to contest the playoffs. on another note, the guests made us weaker last night not stronger
  14. When does any part of any entertainment industry reduce its quality year on year and, not only still expect people to turn up, but expect people to pay more for the privilege. and promoters wonder why crowds are going down
  15. If there is a furter reduction in the quality of the product there needs to be a reduction in prices to go along with it or crowds will drop even more and the proposed reduction in costs will be a waste of time
  16. Rather have a team of similar averages than 5 riders head and shoulder's above the other 2
  17. If the product is weakened further with no reduction in entrance fee then that will be me finished
  18. i can't see any club paying for any rider the way things are, it will be a loan to somebody again
  19. Just the last time he was here, whoever thought he would good for the team needed his head looking at
  20. Couldn't agree more, I will give it three meetings next season for the racing to be racing and not riding round as follow me leader and then if there is no improvement I will be £50 a week better off
  21. After tonights showing we need a complete clear out the only three i would consider are Berge Howarth Sissis hopefully Parkinson Blackburn as a 3 pointer and then three others, maybe Rory Schlien
