Redcar handed fours
The Third Man replied to RedcarRacer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have Redcar ever had a team capable of winning the league? Sheffield always seem to have home track advantage when they have a good team, it disappears when we don't I really don't understand this fact -

No such thing as a neutral track, unless there is a track where non the riders have ridden before. If Redcar was a neutral track then the opposition would have as much chance of winning as the home team How many times have Redcar lost 50% of their home meetings in a season, that is assuming that the teams are evenly matches of course -
And how many didn't go anywhere, or how many of the ones who went every week to Coventry went every week to another track? Far more fans will have been lost forever or hopefully only lost until Coventry return home, soon hopefully
-
Don't agree, usually when a track closes the majority of its fans are lost, when Sheffield closed I stopped going altogether as did most of the Sheffield fans I knew at the time All less tracks with less meetings will mean is less fans

Three good heat leaders who will at least maintain their averages all the other four can up their averages, quite a lot in the case of Shanes. Can see him and Kurtz swapping in the reserve base quite a lot Here's to another good season. and to retaining the league title
-
think we are playing a waiting game, if Workington don't use him there is no need to buy him if they come back and say they will use him if we don't buy him then we will see what happens
-
Think that signing means that Kyle will be the next signing If it goes to plan then should have a very competetive team once again.. Todd could even find himself at reserve at some stage if James Shanes performes as expected
-
Didnt realise that, but why would Workington want an unhappy rider
-
Under what employment law
-
if Kyle doesn't want to ride for Workington he wont be, and if Workington try to stop him riding I think it could be classed as a restriction of trade, especially as Workington don't own him, in the way the no speedway clubs really own riders
-
Howarth, Kurtz and Josh Bates back will give a very competitive team once again with most riders capable of upping their averages
-
or they are waiting to give us a Christmas present
-
Sorry about George, but hopefully he can a place nearer home if that's possible the team looks good again, Howarth and Kurtz to complete hopefully
-
Good news, just needs more consistency and could be our ace in the pack for next season
-
So we can have a TV deal or the contingency Why cant we have both?

A Very Short Season
The Third Man replied to ipswichwitches's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
No one seems bothered with fill in matches anymore, attractive or not. Still should save me some money -
In the past Sheffield used to have a WC qualifying meeting, the occasional British Final, a Northern Riders Qualifier and the final, and usually at least one other individual meeting i guess our preferences for the type of meetings we like to watch must have changed
-
Neil Machin used to make a profit at Sheffield because he built teams to win at home, he once said that is more profitable to have a team that won at home than a team that was high up the league but not doing so well at home
-
You win titles with a solid number 1 and riders that can improve their averages, Howe is not one of those riders
-
Hope not or i might not be going next season

Would prefer to stay on Thursday and I cant understand why three championship clubs will have to change race nights as opposed to on PL club. Sundays would be the only viable opportunity for me but it would need to be evening not in the afternoon to ruin the whole of Sunday there would also be clashes in the early and late season with football potentially being on a Sunday as well So if we swap to Wednesday I will only be going to the odd match and to rearranged matches that are on a alternative race night
