Championship Rider Final 24/09
The Third Man replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I agree a rider can ride all season finish top of the averages but not with the riders championship, where is the justice in that -
Yes apparently injured for two weeks a week ago but this injury apparently cleared up in a week so he could earn a lot more money in Poland than he could have earned last Monday Obviously the leg injury was caused by his celebrations after the meeting last Sunday In a nothing meeting but missing the meeting that actually meant something I would not want him riding for my team again, and certainly would not be making excuses for him

Surely the top three should be the top three in the averages, they show the best riders over a season, not just one meeting -

nobody offered him a load of money not to ride, should not have been allowed to ride after the fours anyway -

I an sorry but I don't appear to be making myself clear, or you don't understand, the race was stopped after Auty deliberately tried to put Bjerre into the fence, thats why Bjerre was way at the back, so if that was not the reason for the stoppage, it was a different reason for both a stoppage and an exclusion for Auty According to the referee then Auty got away with an exclusion for very dangerous riding because of a supposed start offence I and many others around me didn't think that there was a start offence, as apparently so does Dave Peat, so the conclusion based on that and when the race was stopped was the referee bottled the exclusion for dangerous riding for Auty by inventing a start offence Based on the above I really don't see your point, -

I assumed that as did everyone around me, but we dont know as the referee didnt say, just that Auty was warned, what for we dont know as stated before the assumption was based on when the race was stopped and what happened just before it was stopped -

Who knows why it was stopped, but it was stopped just after Auty tried to put Bjerre into the fence with Howarth and Kerr on the back straight, bit late for a starting offence, even you must see that you tell me why it was stopped -
Yet these are the people that are ignored, it is not their fault they are staying away it is the promoters fault, give a credible sport to support and some might come back, however some are lost forever not the supporters fault but the promoters for the mess they have got speedway into

Thats what everyone wanted to know, it was stopped with the riders on the back straight not for a starting offence, think the only way the referee could put all four riders in the rerun was if he made up a starting offence very dangerous by Auty, but luckily Bjerre got away unscathed -

The race was stopped because Auty tried to deliberately put Bjerre into the fence to stop his outside run, luckily Bjerre stayed on his bike and didn't get injured, so Auty shouldn't even have been in the race at all. A Scunthorpe supporting friend of ours didn't have a problem with what Bjerre did on the third bend, in fact his comment was that he knows Auty is an idiot but at least he is our idiot, so he didn't agree with your take on what happened on the third bent either, -

So Sheffield will be having RR for an injured rider while Leicester run it for a perfectly fit rider who wont come over for meeting, makes sense in Speedway I suppose -

Which Sheffield rider should have been excluded? the one who Auty tried to knock off on the first bend, who for some unknown reason was warned for dangerous riding, which I always thought was a straight exclusion? or the one that was in front when auty tried to go round him and ran out of track? just interested. cant comment on the Glasgow incident as I couldn't see it but the reaction of the crowd said it all to me you mean the neutral track that is the home track to Josh G, Charles Wright and Richard Lawson, -
If its a neutral track the support would be very poor. I am sure when I started going in 1968 and for a couple of years after it was the luck of the draw. don't know when it became home and away

It wasnt a home victory until Wright made a mistake on bend four ;lap 3 Howarth then passed him and locked him on the inside for Bjerre to fly around both of them. The Sheffield pair then kept Wright at the back and Wright fell trying to split them on the third / fourth bend. So it wasnt the track that gave the Sheffield the win, it was a mistake by Wright and some great riding from Howarth Hope Wright is OK -
Doesnt have to be a week, it can be a month

Definitely said at Ipswich on Saturday night that the first leg at Sheffield on the 9th, 2nd leg at Leicester on the 11th
