  1. As they are going to get over 70's to self isolate for 4 months would suggest end July at the earliest
  2. Must do as will be groups of people over 500 in one place, so all people involved and at the track, cuts down the number of the paying public even more
  3. No way will the government open themselves to this, they wont even compensate people who need to self isolate except to give them an extra £20 in the first week. They expect people on minimum wage who live from one wage packet to the next to take a massive drop in wages for one or two weeks minimum, so sport or any other industry wont get compensation
  4. I don't think that's the point, it shows that the government still expects it to be here until the end of July
  5. What it means is that the government does not expect the virus to go away for four months, that is the end of July This, along with banning crowds of over 500 people, would mean that speedway cant start until August at the earliest, so someone is going to have to come up with a plan to run a meaningful competition that lasts for 4 months. I think it is potentially looking bad for speedway for this season as a whole except maybe for a few tracks that can afford to run with fewer than 500 supporters, if the government allows them to because they may not allow medical cover for sporting events as has already been seen, some foreign riders are already going home before a full travel ban is in place so it will be mostly home based riders who could compete, and would riders come back to Britain for a very short season I think we may well be looking at a lost year, and the effect of that could be a disaster for the sport Hopefully this a very worse case scenario and the sport can restart in a couple of months at the worst
  6. and today an expert said it could cause sneezing
  7. Its not a case of not looking at the bigger picture, and its not being negative but realistic, its common sense thought process Riders wont ride if they cant make it pay, tracks will run if they could, but that's only going to be in third tier with 500 supporters, and its common Knowledge that individual meetings are no where near as well supported as they used to be, that's why there aren't many around anymore Sheffield still have rent to pay, and with 500 supporters, they would lose money hand over fist, that's why I cant see it happening Also I cant actually see Jason Crump coming if his son cant ride in Europe And as someone has said they wouldn't be allowed medical cover because it may be needed elsewhere, so our opinions wont matter anyway
  8. What ever it looks like it has got to be a meaningful competition to get people to watch
  9. From next week speedway will be banned unless it is limited to 500 spectators, so that's a major loss making venture for most tracks with the riders that will be available. and how do the IOW afford Jason Crump, this is speedway, no way will a promoter who could be making money subsidise the IOW The other problem is that individual meetings are not very attended, so maybe the 500 gate limit would work in this case
  10. And travel restrictions in some countries are relaxed
  11. Its not going to be a six week delay, its not due to peak until may or June. earliest start will be mid June or July
  12. Very short season from July to October no playoffs or cup competitions could have GPs every weekend to get them in and no Speedway of Nations
  13. Cant be true, someone's mate who knows a mate of Nikki says he is only here for two months
  14. I will wait for Nikki's friend, or ex friend as he obviously let the cat out of the bag as to how long he is here for, to come back and tell me when Nikki told him
  15. Why is he leaving? He said, and Steady said, that he is here for the season when he was at Owlerton the other week, he is not in the GP,s so he is not warming up for those. Love to know who has talked to Nikki to find this information out
  16. i would imagine that is it, depending on the size of the crowd you might be able to see from the home straight and the third and fourth bends have steps to access them the panorama room does have excellent viewing facilities and if you don't mind watching from the inside it should be no problem for you at all
  17. Why would you want to know that, be respectful to his family at this time
  18. RIP Danny, you have left two great holes in teams that will be impossible to fill
  19. Look at their averages on the Sheffield web site and including bonus points there was nothing between them, and Kennedy was also at number two for some matches
  20. based on watching them both last season Kennedy looks the better prospect to me
  21. MacDonald looked a lot better prospect in his first season with Sheffield, and his first season in England than Greaves did when he rode for Sheffield. so if I had to choose I would go for him on a four leaving an extra 0.61 points available for the rest of the team, because he looks a much better prospect I would actually have gone for Kennedy over MacDonald
  22. I am not bothered what nationality a rider is, as long as they go out to entertain me. I don't get the fuss over British riders having to have first choice of teams, if they are good enough they will have a team place
  23. That is still bringing people in though, more people more money, perhaps Sheffield should charge a fee to all the other clubs for increasing their gates
