Oxford vs Halifax, cant remember the year, 12 3 all's one 4-2 to Oxford, sure someone will know the details, do have the programme somewhere though
-
have another guess, third time lucky, in the last 24 hours 47 people have died within 28 days of having a positive test, what they died of we don't know
-
Just 47 people have died within 28 days of having a positive test, what they died of we don't know
-
Suppose the good news is that at the moment there isn't that much to do

On a related note, the Sheffield team in 1973 had less than an average of 2 points from 1-7 at the end of the season, and still managed to let Reading win the league
-
3 maximums, Sheffield v Belle Vue 1968, cant remember who but three Sheffield riders got 12 point maximums Edit see someone beat me to it, with the riders names as well

You do realise that have been and will be deaths caused by people not receiving treatment, not getting a diagnosis for cancer and other treatable diseases during the lockdown don't you Cancer care has been set back years because people have not been to hospital, and yes thousand's are expected to die, not just of cancer but other very treatable diseases

Meet face to face to do what? Another schoolboy statement, if you have a point to make, you are not making it very well with childish statements
-
And still is, the Germans just turned it around and pointed it the other way
-
No one will ever know, the only near thing to that is Sweden, and they have a lower death rate per million people than we have If it had been done, we would have had to really put a ring of steel around the vulnerable, not the pretend one the government said we did

From the Sheffield web site SHEFFIELD co-owner Damien Bates is remaining positive and upbeat about prospects for racing next month – and is far from ready to throw in the towel. Bates admits there are still hurdles to overcome before seeing the Tigers on track, but news of Stock Car racing going ahead later this month at Ipswich with a crowd in attendance has lifted hopes.Said Bates: “I’m a realist and a restart will never be straightforward, but I’m certainly hopeful and more optimistic now than I have been for a few weeks.“It feels like there is genuine light at the end of the tunnel, and I can assure everyone my colleagues on the board of the British Speedway Promoters Ltd are working around the clock to offer some sort of league season for our fans.“I must emphasise at no stage have we ever lost sight of the fact that the health and safety of our supporters, sponsors and track staff is of paramount importance, but I believe there is a way we can make this season happen.”

Yes see what you mean, definition says non professional

So theoretically, that means speedway can start doesn't it? It doesn't mention anything about supporters, but cant people using an indoor gym be classed as supporters?
-
Something has to done about attending sports events, certainly before the next football season starts or most league 1 & 2 clubs and some in Championship will go out of business Cant see a lot of difference in letting crowds into lower league football matches and speedway

2m rule scrapped from july 4th to 1m
The Third Man replied to ruckerroo's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
After July 4th social distancing is over, most people seem to think that 2m is 1m so 1m will be stood next to each other -
Will be a shame was hoping to see Josh at Sheffield again, hopefully next season if this isn't possible

From the Sheffield Web Site SHEFFIELD co-promoter Peter Mole insists plans are going ahead for the reintroduction of speedway at Owlerton in August. But Mole, a West Midlands-based businessman, also says there is a lot of work to do to ensure spectators can safely enjoy the racing once the green light is given by the government. Most club bosses throughout the UK believe social distance measures are possible in their venue and signage has already been put up at Scunthorpe including restricted numbers in the paddock. Mole said: “The stadium are confident it could be made a COVID-19 friendly venue; it’s got so much open space and it would be a case of working out the safely designated standing areas per group of supporters who entered. “The pits aren’t the biggest at Sheffield but we could find a way around that by extending them temporarily like we do on the bigger events and also by restricting the amount of people who can be in there at any one time. “Then there’s other things like one way entrances, exits and walkways and a list of other things we’d need to ensure were in place as well; not necessarily insurmountable but there’s so much which would require a lot of close consideration. “We have a great relationship with our landlords at Owlerton and we will work closely with them to ensure the sport can restart at the appropriate time – but we don’t want to fill fans with over the top enthusiasm because there is work to do.”
