  1. Very true doug, but there's a helluva lot that dont bother anymore.
  2. You obviously were lucky, for the past few years i've been i've always been surronded by londoners that haven't got a track to go to. Work it out, how many people go to speedway on a regular basis? how many regulars dont go to cardiff? and believe me paul the sums speak for themselves.
  3. Cant see a mention of what Nicki said after the meeting, something about standing up and not accepting these poorly prepared tracks. Cant see it happening, and as with many walks of life, it wont happen until it's too bloody late and a rider gets seriously injured or even worse. I appreciate that riders can get hurt on normal tracks, but thats usually down to rider error or bad luck, these bloody tracks are poor and dangerous.
  4. Spot on about img loving the falls and injuries, you forgot to mention the sky production team and a fair proportion of the crowd also loving it. If only regular speedway followers went to cardiff then they might start voting with there feet over the appalling state of the track, but by my reckoning thousands of them aren't regular supporters.
  5. For the first time in 5 years we're giving this one a miss and having a g.p. party instead, a few friends lots of drinks and nibbles, and nobody will get searched or have anything conviscated when entering. And the with money saved we're all going to a polish league meeting, best of both worlds i reckon. But hope it's a great night for all those going and staying at home.
  6. Only problem with bydgoszcz is that they're currently 2nd division, and if the meeting is against rawicz or one of the weaker teams it wont be worth watching. Same applies to the top division this season, 3 very good teams, 2 average, 3 not so good. So if you're going to poland this season, be choosy with the fixtures.
  7. I assume because of the politics of the sport, one of the brits will have to stay in next year. Scott doesn't deserve it because he thinks he's so good he doesn't need to qualify. But how can they give it bomber? a rider who rides 2nd div poland, and struggles in sweden <last week bottom scorer> the bloke is way out of his depth, it's almost laughable when they fly past him.
  8. The start time was 16-30, i assume this was to enable greg to get there after the g.p.
  9. But this meeting was originally on the 24th. I dont know why it was switched. Maybe because of greg in the g.p.? bad decision if it was.
  10. Lets face it, apart from wroclaw and cardiff last year he's been very average/poor, if he was danish/polish he'd have never got a sniff at the gp's. He's only in there because the rest of the brits are so poor.
  11. With the series so weak at the moment, and only 7 <truly> world class riders around. Now is the time for the top 7 to make a stand about these dreadful tracks. Surely they're holding the aces now, where would the competition be without the top 7.
  12. I see scott has not entered the qualifiers, so we assume this will be his last year. Cant see any brits being good enough to come through. Put jarek back in there!!!
  13. So the "not so clean" shop steward doesn't refuse to ride a track like that, but 2 months ago at kings lynn he refused to race because of a bit of rain. I'm sure he'd have got gollob on his side if he'd started his usual "lets get the meeting off" tantrums. How can the bloke be so two faced? It's either too dangerous to ride or it's not, last night was too dangerous, but the shop steward and the others bottled it.
  14. According to the best german website, there's nothing anywhere in austria or germany that weekend. For future reference, go to speedway.org and click Renntermine 08.
  15. [quote name='Sandie' date='May 12 2008, 09:17 AM' post='1209946' Also wondering - do we know what time this meeting starts? Billy J has to be back in the UK for a lunchtime start on the Monday for our home and away meetings with Peterborough! Start time 16-30, i assume that means practice in the morning. When i went to the WTC qualifier there 2 years ago it should have started at 2pm with practice the day before. But it rained for 24 hours until 1pm, but the hungarians had invested in some decent machinery and the meeting started at 3pm. Believe me, there was enough rain to postpone british speedway for a week, but if you've got the right equipment, anything's possible. Sandie, dont worry about Billy getting back, there's at least one 6am flight out of budapest.
  16. One bit of advice, dont pay for the most expensive seats in the stadium, just like wroclaw they're the worst view in the stadium.
  17. I was talking to a former mechanic of nobby magosi last season at zarnovica, he was telling me 3 new tracks are on the horizon. Is this likely to happen? He told me where they were but i've forgotten.
  18. Thanks for posting that link, i was expecting to have to write all the scorers down.
  19. Grenland speedway motorsykkelklubb. Well thats whats on the racecard anyway. That was the team that staged the meeting.
  20. Elgane 32 Riska 29 Drammen 24 Oslo 21 GSMK 14 Free admission, free racecard, lovely day out.
  21. Regarding Frank facher. In all the various meetings i've ever seen, i've never known a reserve's points to count. Is this a rule for this competition only, or was it some sort of gentlemens agreement?
  22. Bavarian, glad you enjoyed our little joke. Interesting what you say about the other meeting, i assume that starts at 2pm. Bad news for you locals, you dont get that many meetings, then you get 2 in a day. Is the longtrack meeting on a sand track? If when we get to neustadt it's chucking it down with rain, is there more chance of the Dingolfing meeting going ahead? Always nice to have a plan B.
  23. Good spot doug. Looking forward to meeting up with you in norden next month. Thats if i survive my trip to the "seperate kingdom" on the 27th. And i promise i wont laugh at the people in those funny clothes whilst i'm down there.
  24. Crikey Doug, i never thought i'd come on here and tell you something about germany. Mads is listed at No 3 to ride in the european championship qualifier in Neustadt Donau on 27th april. Or dont you chaps from the north consider bavaria as part of germany?
  25. Are you lot ever going to get a meeting on this year? Hope the weather improves before i get out there for neustadt donau at the end of this month and norden in may.
