  1. Cant believe sky didn't insist on an interview with bellamy or olsen, surely the paying public and the tv companies, deserve a full explanation as to what exactly went wrong, and why it was <apparently> impossible to sort out. But all we got was a short statement from bellamy. We felt last year was a waste of £150 as the racing was so crap, but at least we saw some and had a fun weekend. But on the bright side for those who can afford it, what a weekend next weekend, G.P. on a decent track on the saturday, and the 2nd leg of the polish final just down the road on the sunday.
  2. And the only one with real talent got snapped up by our wealthier friends from up the road. Not too sure what it is, either, A, we haven't got enough money or B, we aren't prepared to gamble. Totally agree with those. Sadly for us witches fans, i was talking to swidders on friday and i got the distinct impression he's expecting to go back to p'boro and spearhead the team with bjerre.
  3. This must have been the most expensive "challenge" match ever. Was is all sponsored? or were they hoping for a massive crowd to pay for it?
  4. Just a thought. Who the majority of folk would prefer to see in next years g.p. series? The top 3 from this, or the top 3 from that thing in poland.
  5. Subedei and myself have been stating on various threads that kus is better than sitera, once again he proved it today. Well done to emil, hopefully he's done enough to get a wildcard for the g.p. series.
  6. And a bloody good afternoons entertainment too. For you people who travel to g.p.'s, you should really try the bundesliga final one day. 28 heats on a well prepared track, and the whole day cost just over £70 <plus whatever it costs to get to stansted>.This is the 3rd one i've been lucky enough to go to, and i will certainly be going again. Entertainment gauranteed!!!! Unlike the overpriced g.p. series.
  7. The witches management should donate £15 for every season ticket holder that comes in for nowt tonight, it's there fault that they couldn't be arsed to put on enough meetings to fulfil the minimum requirements for the ticket. They appear to have chucked this meeting on in the middle of all the finals, hence a poor field, kim is deserving of much better. I just hope the fans still turn out in force.
  8. Quite right too sue. Hopefully big crowd for 2 reasons. 1, to give as much as possible to a very very worthy cause. please come and give give give. poor buggar deserves every penny. 2, it will also be the last time we see that bloody pole in a witches race jacket <surely he wont come back again> yippee!!!!!
  9. I hope the organisers price this sensibly, i'd rather see 1200 at £10 than 800 at £15, from a personal point of view, i'd be happy to pay £15 for such a worthy cause but i think some wouldn't, if they charge £10 and get more people then they should make more money from prog sales, raffle etc. And those of us who would gladly pay £15 can still put the extra fiver in the bucket anyway. And if on mon/tues there's any threat of rain, call it off. We must get every penny we can for kim, and bad weather would just put people off.
  10. Can anyone confirm the start time for the bundesliga final at berlin wolfslake on oct 3rd? I assume it's the usual 2pm, but i'd like it confirmed before booking flights, currently £36 day return with ryanair.
  11. Me and the wife will be there. Do you know what race format is being used? last year at abensberg it was 4 man teams plus reserve with 16 programmed heats then 4 more for highest-lowest scorers. It seems what you've listed are 5 man teams, so can we asume a 25 heat format like in the senior world team cup?
  12. I enjoyed most of the weekend, just a shame the most important bit <the racing> was so awful. Hopefully they can produce a half decent track this year.
  13. Depends on where it's staged. The poles would win it with their 4th team if it was there, if it was at somewhere like wolverhampton, then we'd stand a chance.
  14. 1, ryanair to riga, probably best bet. 2&3. airport to train station 20p, 3-4 hours on train to daugavpils about £3, but coach is more comfy and is only 5 mins from train station. once there, hotel 5 mins walk, track 25 mins walk, or 15p on tram. 4. from memory only one decent size hotel, just google it, cant remember the name.
  15. Even Lynch thought it was at coventry when he was first interviewed after getting the job. Has that bloke ever got anything right?
  16. Just recieved a text from fans at track. Aussies asked if practice could be saturday morning, ole said no!! Reckon the morning will be spent making sure gate one is a darn sight better than thursday, now that denmark have got the inside gate 7 times <every little helps>.
  17. Only if they go 6 behind, then they can use tacticals.
  18. At least unsteady cant take out a team mate with this formula.
  19. Wizzair have at least 3 flights that get back into luton at 07-30ish on the monday morning, so if you've got a good boss like mine, and you work/live in the area it's an option. Done it a few times, poznan is the best option as it's comfy for crashing out, katowice usually means hanging around the train station until the bus goes at 04-30, and gdansk we just booked a cab for 05-00. You feel crap at work all day, but at least it saves that precious thing called holiday.
  20. What an absolute berk jim lynch made himself look with his comment that we've GOT to beat sweden twice. Sorry jim, but we've only got to beat sweden on thursday to get to the final, on monday we've only got to beat the czechs. And even with unsteady in the team we should manage that.
  21. looks like the reserves get the best deal here. Almost no expense getting to the meeting, most of the time they dont have to ride, and they get £1150 ish. In terms of expenditure, you've got to finish in the top few to be better off than the reserve. I know it's all about sponsorship, but i'm amazed the riders have never asked for more. Will we ever get a breakaway series? Is there a kerry packer out there who likes speedway?
  22. Whats going to happen to the g.p. series when the stars retire? Leigh, Greg, Tomasz will pack up in the next year or 2. When you look at these qualifiers, and rate them on performances in europes only 2 elite leagues, then ryan is about the best of what got through.
  23. 30 mins ago there was only two heats left, but there must be a problem with it, hasn't updated since. jesper, rico, ulamek, zagar look safe. david howe 4pts from his 5 rides. Cheesy also through
