World Cup Final 14th July
spanner47 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
When Crump was interviewd on Monday he said "looking at his hand, it could be 2 weeks before he's ready", but probably a gamble worth taking, Troy wouldn't have got many anyway. -
World Cup Final 14th July

Cant see the Danes being 6 down. If the Aussies have the same 4 as Monday, then i cant see them winning it. But because the Swedes were seeded straight through, we'll have to wait and see what they'll do. Should be a cracker though. -

Love those Danes when they're being interviewed (naughty boys), and thanks to sky for leaving Ms W at home, made the show much more watchable. -
World Cup Race Off 12 July

Danes should walk it. As for our lot, Danny usually goes well in Sweden. Bomber may be useless in poland but also does well here. But from memory i cant ever remember Tai or Scott scoring big out there. We've had 2 very good meetings, here's hoping for another. -
Imagine this scenario. 1st heat a rider get injured and is the innocent party, the other rider gets excluded, but we start with a 2 rider race. It's going to happen sooner or later, for christs sake bring back the res. As for the joke, no wonder there's no mention of the SWC on the BBC sport website, unless it's tucked away with the tiddly winks world championship somewhere and i cant find it. This is a great sport, but it gets no coverage (and is treated as a joke) because of things like this.

Kings Lynn World Cup 9 July
spanner47 replied to steve19620's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Cracking meeting, as usual this SWC week is delivering the goods. Dont know how they'll decide who gets the final next year, but this place has got to be in with a shout, but i suppose it'll all come down to money, money and money. But at least we'll be in the final next year, wherever it is. -

Does Troy replace Darcy if he's not fit? -

In which time we've reached 2 cup semi finals. Dreadful, awful, shocking season so far, if we can do this riding crap, imagine what we're going to do now we appear to have hit a bit of form. Hopefully that elusive silverware is on it's way, will you be making your first ever trip to Foxhall to see it? -

3 wins in 3 days, team spirit must be awful. -

Got to agree about the cheap bit. I recall another promoter accusing a certain club of paying "silly money" to get their hands on Rohan. What he meant by silly money i dont know, but obviously we pay more than some. -
Gp Qualifier Berwick 16/6
spanner47 replied to Warm&Cosy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As others have said, if it's possible for 4 riders to go round it'll go ahead. Shame for the fans who want to watch racing, but sadly the Berwick promotion wont have a say in the matter. Over the years i've seen some total farces in the rain for FIM meetings, get to heat 12 and go home. Lets hope those who aren't riding in Poland tomorrow, dig their heels in and refuse to ride if it's unraceable, then the good folk of Berwick will (hopefully) be treated to a proper meeting. -

Certainly not straighforward for Bunyan & Frampton either. On Monday Bunyan was awful but tonight he had a stormer, last Thursday Frampton looked brilliant, tonight he was awful. Appears the only consistent thing in this league this season is the inconsistency, lets just hope our riders start riding to their potential on a consistent basis, sooner rather than later. -

Unlike most of our team, Taylor can gate. So i can think of at least one track where he'd be suited. -

Aljerk, you keep on and on about having a No 1, Glasgow won the league last year because they had a brilliant reserve for almost the whole season. Hopefully one of our young boys will do for us, what Morris did for them. Given the choice of Kev or Joe, i'd certainly pick the former as my No 1. -

On the cheap??? Yes, when we were in the NSel (copyright Snacky), but last season i reckon we were one of the top payers. Lasse and Taylor didn't join the Witches for the scenery, and it was generally said that these two, were two of the hottest properties. Apart from the "silly money" (alledgedly) paid to Mr Gjedde, i reckon the Witches were much nearer the top of the money league than the bottom. And while Chris is in charge, i fully expect this to continue. As for your crazy comment on the "star studied" elite league, i assume that was some sort of a joke. -

Another one who hasn't been to Foxhall since the changes. I used to go 4-5 a season as the racing was dire, now i go every week. -

Well done lads, great way to finish the season. I just hope the trophy is made of gold or bronze (but knowing the bspa it's probably plastic), as the Ipswich forum troll has been telling us for months, we'll get no "silver" this season. -

That'll be just one of the lame excuses. But every year fans are daft enough to pay, so they hike the prices up. If the fans said NO!! Then maybe they might take the hint and charge a realistic price. -

Watch the semi's, pray for 3-4 hours of rain, then go back for the final. Just looked on Booking.com for hotel prices, ouch. -
Very true, and it's worked for years. Except this year we have rolling averages, and unfortunately this means the best rider from Ipswich wont be there. If you change the rules for averages, you should change the rules for these meetings. The fans who travel from all over the Country deserve the best, but they aren't going to get it.
-
It's a shame the clubs cant nominate their best rider, instead of going by averages. Lasse has been Ippo's best (and most entertaining) rider all season, but he wont be there. I'm sure the fans that are going would rather see Lasse than Kev, i've got nothing against Kev, but i'd rather see our best rider representing our club.
-
I dont usually listen to the commentary, but i wanted to know the other scores. That bloke has been bad all season, but tonight he made so many mistakes and he had no concept of what was going on. Just as well Dackarna didn't get a 4-2 in the last heat and they had finished level over the 2 legs, christ knows what would have happened, poor old bloke would have gone into meltdown.

What a brilliant track, it's only has one meeting a year. Even after 50 plus races there was still passing inside and outside. Kyle Newman and the Latvian Lebedevs were the stars of the night, Lebedevs made some great passes, and Kyle was always passing someone or getting passed himself, but he put up a great show. One of the main reasons for the great racing was, there was no fence, so the riders could go very wide and if things went wrong they could just run off the track onto the grass. As for where the track is, if you go on google maps, look to the north of Berghaupten and you'll see a lake, if you zoom in you'll just make out a grass track next to it, the speedway track is inside that.

[Like i say best wishes but wow! talk about a case of false advertising. I'd sue if i was a newcomer to the sport and went along expecting to see the BEST pairs in Europe This track doesn't exist on Google maps, so it's obviously not been there very long. Reckon they'll be more people there on the Sunday for the Longtrack, but have to agree, they should drop "the best" bit. The Czechs and Germans look strong, so at least the locals will be happy. There's 3 of us going out to watch for the weekend, loads of other racing at various levels.
