  1. As an Ipswich fan I look at the smaller picture. He's had practice out there and hasn't improved, I just cant see what can be gained by watching a meeting and having a few practice laps on Friday, he's losing money, and Ipswich also lose out.
  2. If Rosco had looked at the points scored by Brits in Poland this season, Richie is the last rider he'd want out there. 2 rides, no points, thank you and goodnight has been the norm. Thanks for nothing Rosco.
  3. After the surprises on Saturday, the Danes aren't nailed on here. They were obviously giving their best riders a break, safe in the knowledge they'd beat GB in the race off, now they'll have to face a strong Aussie side, could it all go wrong? The Swedes have a habit of raising their game in these events, and the Danes don't look that strong to me, could be very interesting.
  4. The Aussies should go back to the way they used to do things, put some old geyser in charge as a figure head, but leave all the decisions to the star rider, it worked the Street / Crump era. If Lemon couldn't see the most obvious change in Speedway history, he should certainly stand down.
  5. If the reserves rode like last week I'm happy with R/R. Berwick aren't usually the greatest team on their travels.
  6. Has Lemon lost the plot? Why wasn't Cam replaced by Troy?
  7. Just hope the track gets better. The league meeting on sky earlier in the year was inside line all night, looks like tonight is the same. But at least it saves the fans on the Bends getting filled in.
  8. This used to be my favourite week of Speedway of the year. But with the organisers seeding the hosts through to the final, and as the Russians cant be bothered, the guts have been ripped out of it for me. At least we wont have to put up with a dud in the final this year. As for tomorrow night, the Aussies without Holder gives us a better chance, but if it goes to form the Aussies should win.
  9. I'd have stayed had I known Ruml was there. Think of how outclassed Gino looked in last years SWC and how he's doing this year, hopefully Ruml could do the same, then in a few of years time get his little Brother (Dillon) over, he was certainly the best of the Kids when I was there last year.
  10. Great to see all seven turn up tonight. After last week I never expected Cam and Adam to look so sharp, they were both quick out of the gate, and looked like what we thought they would be at the start of the season. Let's just hope that it's not a false dawn and they both gain in confidence. Nice to see plenty of extra fans tonight, it'll be interesting to see how many turn up next week, Witches V Berwick or Gino V Bomber and Tai on the telly?
  11. A 16 team Division (no GP stars) would be lovely for those that are in it. But what would happen to the clubs that miss out? In every other sport the cream rises to the top, but in Speedway that wont happen. There's no way the BSPA would dump on one of their own members, let alone a few of them. If the cream rose to the top, Glasgow probably wouldn't be in the "biggish" League, and they'd be finished, so it eint gonna happen!!!!! They'll just cobble together something else and we'll be having this discussion for years.
  12. It certainly goes against the grain to replace a young Brit with Tress, but would certainly make us stronger. Looking at the "real" table and our fixture list, and assuming the Plymouth K.O. cup semi will be August 14th we could end up finishing our home League season on Sept 4th and waiting for our final opponents for a few weeks. I've probably made a mistake, but this is the way I see the real table Edinburgh +16 Somerset +9 Berwick +8 Scunny, Worky, Ippo, + 4 Peteboro +3. The best of the rest are Redcar and Glasgow at - 5. As we've ridden more than the rest, I reckon our best hope is Scunny drop points, as I cant see us improving much on +4 the way our reserves are currently performing.
  13. Gino didn't deliberately stay down, he was getting up but Mr Steele put the red light on far too early.
  14. We certainly got out of jail with a point tonight, well done to Glasgow. We Ipswich fans are generally fairly patient, but I'm hoping there's a change at No 7 before the next meeting. Adam looked awful tonight, Cam wasn't much better, but at least he did the business in heat 14. I'm sure they're aren't many options for replacing Adam, but we need someone, and quick!!!!
  15. To the best of my knowledge (I'm sure I read it somewhere) Ipswich have got their Aussie riders on a 3 year visa.
  16. Compared to when I went there (for the only time) the crowd looked low, was last night the normal crowd these days, or was it lower as the cameras were there? Well done to the Leicester fans for turning up each week, I'd love to be a restaurant owner in that part of the World, just serve up crap and the punters keep coming back for more.
  17. Highlight for me was Chris's first interview with Norrie, he came across as a decent geyser who speaks his mind.
  18. It's a shame Chris Louis is usually diplomatic and doesn't (or isn't allowed to) upset anyone with his questions. He'd be the perfect bloke to grill DH about the track, as he speaks from experience. As the bikes became more powerful, and the air fence was installed, racing at Foxhall was awful. I stopped going and was watching more meetings in Poland and Sweden each season than my local track. But thankfully he invested heavily on changing the shape, and now I go every week. Come on Nigel, Kelvin and Chris, do the good folk of Leicester a favour tonight, and tell it like it is.
  19. Also watched on TV like thousands of others. Just imagine the crowd you'd get if it wasn't on the box. Not too sure of the revenue they get from TV, but does it surpass another ??,000 bums on seats? I'd love to know.
  20. Thoughts? If you honestly think that being a PL promoter is so profitable that you don't have to work, then you are sadly mistaken. Please engage brain before posting.
  21. I'm an Ipswich fan and a speedway fan. When we were EL I'd go to kings Lynn to watch certain decent PL teams, since they went EL and we went PL I've never been, as I can watch those riders on the box.
  22. When I ask locals why they only go now and again It's usually, "only if It's warm and sunny" or "why bother when It's on the telly", FOUR meetings on the telly this week, why fork out £16 on a windy damp Evening when you can get your Speedway fix in your living room. I also think the BSPA are getting very close to driving the final nail in the coffin, they've been trying for years, but this year has been the worst for us fans. He's your rider this week, he's our rider next week is the worst one they've ever come up with, and fans at many tracks have had enough, It's all been done in an attempt to keep the EL alive, but it's obviously failing as Brum have gone and Eastie are going. They've got it horribly wrong this season, and in their attempt to save the EL they're affecting the PL with their crazy rules. Fans accept guests as a necessary evil when riders are injured, but not when a rider is just saving another club some money.
  23. Those that stayed away because of the weather ( or was it because of the weak opposition? ) certainly missed a good un. Plenty of decent racing and all over in very quick time. All over so quickly the majority of the crowd stayed behind to watch some of the junior heats.
  24. When I crawled out of there last year, I said "never again", the worst bit for me was no one appeared to be in charge. We'd have long delay due to an injury, but instead of having a track grade whilst the rider was with the doctor, we'd have one more race in the dust, then have to hang around for a track grade, it was just driving me mad! But at least Mr Horton is in charge there now, I'm sure those who went to the ERC will speak very highly of him.
