  1. 50-43 would do me. As others have said, tomorrow at Scunny should be defining meeting.
  2. We always had the first leg at home in the finals we've been in, hopefully this time we can get the 2nd, surely that's only fair. I understand if we reach the play off final the team finishing higher gets the choice, but not in the cup. Come on, we've waited a long time to get some silverware, we'd actually like to see it if we win.
  3. Just like to mention how much we enjoyed the whole experience at the Friends Arena. Me and the missus rarely travel to GP's these days, we just got hacked off with being treated so badly. In Prague my wife had an expensive small umbrella stolen by some uniformed thug, when we got into the stadium all those in the expensive seats were allowed huge umbrella's. Then on entering the Parken an old Lady in front of us had two sandwiches confiscated from her handbag. But tonight, no bag searches, sit where you like if the seat was empty, and there was even a small section of terracing for those that wanted to stand. And the best bit, you could go outside for a fag, not many stadium's let you do that. As for the meeting, I probably enjoyed it more than some. Being an Ipswich fan it was great to see Jarek back on top, and i also backed Greg to win the Championship this year, so no complaints here!
  4. Got to agree with Bruv, I really think our Boys call put it off. Sadly can't be there as I'll be watching a meeting in Meissen, come on lads, believe!!
  5. About 5 years ago, had a long talk with the owner. He told me he spoke to lots of experienced riders before laying the track, they all told him short straights and big bends was the way to go. Shame the bloke at Leicester didn't do the same.
  6. Liberec takes some beating. Short straights, big bends and wide. As soon as I walked in it felt right, and it didn't disappoint. Also really liked Leylstad in Holland. Strange that, two of my favourites begin with L, also one of the worst does, bet you can't guess where that is, and It's not Lodz, Lejonen,Lublin or Lakeside.
  7. 2nd leg tonight, obviously a forgone conclusion, hence no new thread. Just hope our lads get through it unscathed.
  8. Don't think I've seen Richie ride like that since he guested for us last season, great to see. Just hope Scunny are better tonight, if they can get all 3 point, then I fancy our chances. Was surprised how mild it stayed last night for a fairly decent crowd, just hope the weather holds for a few more weeks. Someone mentioned earlier you're bound to get a big crowd for a cup final, usually I'd agree, but we got a shocker on that freezing cold Saturday night when Newcastle rode against us in the first leg 2 years ago. I think it snowed in the afternoon, the track was covered in sawdust, and from memory there was barely 400 there, it was a foul night!!
  9. In the unlikely event it's double figure temperatures when the final comes around, we'd get a big crowd then, But not going to be easy getting to that, unlike the KO cup final which will be raced sometime on a cold winters night with hardly anybody there. Crowds have been pretty good lately, so just hope they all keep coming for another 3 (hopefully 4) meetings. Come on lads, 15pt win will do fine tonight.
  10. Reasonable crowd is the best we can hope for. Now it's getting chilly in the Evenings, that certainly puts a few off. Really looking forward to the two meetings, just hope we can pull it off. P.S. Well done to the Ippo regulars on here for not starting one of those pointless 2015 threads before this season as even finished.
  11. Flying Gatwick - Arlanda on Friday. Staying at the Scandic 35 minute walk from the stadium. Hoping to go to Hammerby 7pm for the open meeting. Looked on their website, but I can't find out who's riding. Anybody know if it's a good field?
  12. Cant argue with that. Don't know if the racing has been bad all season at Lynn, or it was just those on the telly. But from what I've seen, if any Speedway fan is heading for East Anglia this Thursday, they'd be better off coming to Foxhall.
  13. I don't put any blame on Ipswich here. These dates have been there for Months, this is when the powers that be should organise the fixtures, and not leave it up to the Promoters. Hopefully a full explanation will be forthcoming from the 2 clubs that couldn't be bothered to ride us this Week. Far too many clubs have this attitude, that's why the fixture list is such a mess most seasons. Employ a fixture co-ordinator, then things could only get better. Then we wouldn't have the likes of Workington only riding a few meetings in the first half of the season, and when it was bleeding obvious Edinburgh would be involved in everything, the coordinator would make sure they got ahead with their fixtures.
  14. That's the longest It's taken me to watch a Sky meeting lately. With only Chris in the pits, the interviews were worth listening to, usually as soon as I spot Ms Webster my remote goes straight on X12. Thanks Sky, long may it continue.
  15. Would fancy 6 home wins, then all coming down to points difference. As we know, when Somerset are on fire at home they can rattle up the 5-1's, I'd probably give them the edge, but certainly wouldn't put any money on it. But (probably) with 2 Saturdays sides in 1 group and 2 Friday sides in the other, I hope common sense prevails and somebody can switch and get the thing over and done with. Still got cups to sort out as well.
  16. Being the Chairman of a self-interest organisation can't be easy. Even when a promoter does comes up with a sensible idea, it doesn't suit someone else so it never happens.
  17. Sad for the skipper with his bike problems. Problem is, most riders are loathed to fork out on new machinery at this time of the season, just hope he can rebuild a competitive bike for the remaining meetings. Adam obviously doesn't like tiddly tracks, just hope we can build a good lead on Thursday to make the 2nd leg academic.
  18. You obviously don't follow the NL very closely. Probably a bigger joke than the EL, numerous guests for most clubs last weekend. Nowhere near enough riders to go around. 2 ways to sort out this mess. 1, different nights for different leagues, 2, hope the fairy at the bottom of the garden can magic 20-30 new riders from somewhere. As neither of them are going to happen, our only hope for consistent teams in a sensible league structure is to lose a few tracks. Not nice, but our only hope.
  19. But did Jarek come from behind in 13 and 15 like Rohan did tonight?
  20. Can one of you Witches fans (with a better memory than me) please complete the following statement "That was the best home performance from a Witches No1 since ???" I'm scratching my head. How far do we have to go back? Louis? Loram? Rickardsson? I've probably missed a more recent one, hopefully someone will put me right.
  21. If they cant get the LC done and dusted by the end of May, then scrub it. Same happens every year, all the big meetings come and the end of October when only the diehards are prepared to brave the weather. Ipswich had their smallest crowd of the season for a final V Newcastle on a awful Saturday night. In other sports if you invest in a decent team you get rewarded for your success, in Speedway you get penalised and lose money because extra fans wont turn out in the cold and wet. And while I'm having a whinge, the K.O. cup should also be concluded by the end of August, then teams that have done well to reach the final, might actually get rewarded with a decent crowd.
  22. I'm not expecting a quick refund. I was at the Benfica V Sporting match on Feb 9th, the match was postponed due to high winds making the stadium unsafe. When I enquired why cant you just refund the money on to the card you took it from, I was met with loads of excuses. I had to send them my IBAN No and I eventually got my money refunded into my bank account 20th may. Hopefully the Latvians will be a bit quicker. It appears to be a simple process to take the money, but a much more difficult exercise to refund it.
  23. Hopefully the pattern of the past few meetings will continue. As bruv says, entertaining and injury free, and as our track has been very well prepared lately, no reason why this shouldn't continue.
  24. Decent meeting again. Special mention must go to Steady, those last two rides of his were superb. Can't remember when an opposing rider went past both home riders like he did.
  25. Looking forward to another comfortable victory. I notice not much has been said about what the riding order will be when the new averages kick in, but as we've got 7 riders all scoring well, I suppose it doesn't matter where they ride. All about staying fit and not doing anything stupid for the next couple of weeks.
