I'm sure your sentiment is shared by many. I thought I'd be able to persuade my wife to go Thursday, first thing I hear this morning? "WHAT A ****ING JOKE", suffice to say I soon realised she'd read about Scott guesting on Faceache. She had been a fan for decades, she gave Billy a cake on the centre green for his 21st, she was going off the sport a bit, then the 5 hour fours fiasco tipped her over the edge and she's only been a couple of times since then, and that was only to meet up with friends. I can now add this to my ever extending list of "if they don't sort this s**t out at the AGM, I wont hardly be going next season".

I'm five hours ahead of you lot with a 05-00 flight in the morning, had every intention of keeping up with the first few heats, now I read there's no ambulance yet. After that five hour fiasco at the fours a few years ago, I vowed never to go to that place again, just as well I'm not in the country as I might have been tempted by this meeting. But if this is to be the last meeting then I suppose they don't care about keeping fans hanging around

Regardless of what's gone on in the previous couple of months, would Peterborough fans rather have a guest based on Jack's performance in his last outing? Genuine question, do you think he's capable of a double figure score or would you rather have a guest? I appreciate it depends on who's available.

For years, as we were a Thursday track we always had the first leg, but after the Edinburgh semi we've had 3 2nd legs on the trot. Should be another huge crowd at Foxhall next Thursday, even at such short notice I'm sure they'll be a good one on Sunday too. Fully expecting a nice friendly thread here, yes, we're rivals but unlike those morons on the 1st Division threads we know how to behave ourselves, may the best team win and let's hope for two cracking meetings. My hope, 48-42, then 51-39. Come on you Witches.
-
Fair enough us sticking to Thursday for our leg, but if the other one is sorted out tomorrow, will the BSPA insist that the first leg is raced this Sunday as both clubs can use their track on Sundays. Could be dodgy waiting until next weekend to try and fit it in. I appreciate that both clubs would prefer a second leg, but nobody wants a meeting forced through on a wet track. Unless of course there's a forecast out there guaranteeing a dry sunny weekend for Glasgow or Peterborough.

So we'll have to wait until next week for our cup final, which is great news for me as I'm off on my hols until Monday. Away Tuesday, home Thursday would be lovely if possible, not that I'm greedy.

Cam cant pass at Leicester, he can at Foxhall.

Was convinced we wouldn't pull it back last time, so didn't bother going. But if we get the right guest for Kyle, and Mr R/R does a bit better then I think we've got a small chance. Seems like the majority of major trophies in both divisions will be decided by injuries, we all know it's part of the sport, but I've never known it have such a big impact as the business end of the season.

Relegation And Promotion Play Offs

Cant see how some think there's a big gulf between the divisions when Ipswich riders did a lot of the damage. Just hope they can do the same on Thursday. -
Can Scott replace Rory? I never understand how these averages work. Or are we better off getting a guest for the other one? Such a shame we never tracked our 1-7, would have given Sheffield a very good run for their money.

Pairs Somerset

As you rightly say "on that night". But any other night of the year the crowd would be considerably lower. And let's face it, Somerset is a neutral track this season, but the locals probably still regard themselves as 2nd division fans. -

Not surprised with a home victory. Poor crowd by all accounts, not surprised as the locals have got a joke meeting to attend tomorrow. But if they held it on a neutral track the crowd would be even lower. No one cares about these meetings anymore. -

This will only work with the right amount of clubs. How do they decide who misses out? With loads of clubs riding Thursday, most will only be able to ride every other week, if Lakeside, Ipswich, Sheffield come up I assume it will have to be just one home one away. That's not enough meetings, so they'll need more clubs, if they can't persuade more clubs, then they'll need less clubs and ride each other twice. Good luck coming up with an acceptable solution for all concerned. -
Problem is, it would appear that most of the clubs will be riding Thursday, that's if it happens anyway.
-
Was only thinking that myself. I suppose if there's going to be a bigger League, then we'd probably need an extra night to ride. But if you're not riding you don't have much expense, look at the 1st Division this season, some clubs went weeks with hardly any meetings.
-
I would envisage an extremely weak side like that if we are going to stay in a weakened 2nd Division, if league's stay roughly the same this lot would be entertaining but nowhere near good enough.
-
For years we've wanted separate race nights to get the riders over here, now we cant afford them, it's now all about riding on different nights so all the riders can double up. Agree with balders,I would prefer to stay where we are, but only if it's the same type of league, got a feeling we'll end up with 2 weaker divisions than we have now, if that's the case we might as well be in the top division. But who cares, let's get this season over and done with first.
-
Our crowds wouldn't have to go up too much to survive in the 1st Division. If the Monday / Thursday thing does happen, most clubs would want a cheaper product due to changing race nights, almost certainly no TV money would mean an even CHEAPER product. But the more I think about fixed race nights, the more problems I can see. Fans and promoters are very stuck in their ways. Take Somerset, where would they be better off? Friday in the 2nd Division or Thursday in the 1st Division with no TV money? I'm obviously going on the assumption that BT won't pay for something they can get for nothing. I think we'd be better off in the extremely diluted 1st Division, I would envisage our team being similar to this season with a stronger reserve, looking at the difference between Leicester and us, they have 2 stronger reserves, the rest of the team is roughly the same.

What Would You Change In Speedway Next Season?

Forgive me, I thought this was a thread in the 2nd Division section, you're obviously a 1st division supporter and like an argument, us 2nd Division supporters accept others can have an opinion and move on. Goodbye. I won't be looking at this thread again.
