  1. Flight with Ryanair to Gdansk doesn't leave until 7pm so that's no good either, surprised they're starting so early, but I suppose it gives them all a chance to get home later in the day.
  2. Sorry it doesn't prove your point, the riders HAVE to be there or face a ban. We all know it's a Mickey mouse meeting, but from a riders perspective they have no choice, so why should the fans at Workington tonight get less quality than they would normally expect.
  3. Just hope our lot get their set ups right from the start, unlike last season. 5-1 5-1 5-1 4-2 if memory serves, then we got things sorted and snatched a point. Shame the fans are being short changed, why replace 2 good exciting riders who have a perfectly good reason for not being there with 2 juniors?
  4. Rasmus is listed in the Danish team for Saturday on a couple of websites.
  5. Not bad, just a shame we weren't there last week. Still need at least 2 more away wins to get close to the play offs.
  6. We're still 7-8 points behind the top six in the real table, so as Baldy says, we really really do need to win this.
  7. My initial thought also when i read Phil's post, but thinking about it, it can also happen in Cricket if the pitch is too good, you end up with a boring draw.
  8. I don't blame Greg, I blame the idiots that decided to put the hosts straight into the final. There's only 6 decent teams in the World at the moment, but we've ended up with 7 teams in Manchester. Would I risk injury and plenty of big paydays in the next few weeks when my team has no chance? Probably not. But I do agree with those that were hoping to watch him and see 4 riders in some races, I dread to think how far behind young Nicol and Becker will be. But that's all done now, let's hope for 2 nights of cracking Speedway.
  9. It wasn't the points he did or didn't get, he just doesn't ride our track with any confidence. He's quick enough to get away with it most of the time, but he's never looked comfortable around our place, well not in my inexperienced opinion anyway.
  10. This must surely help the Aussies cause, or we'll soon find out if practice ( and a bit of track knowledge ) does really matter.
  11. Anybody out there remember the last time we had 15 heat winners?
  12. Not many betting firms guess, but this lot do, hence I've won a fortune over the years selling teams. I doubt the teams will be that much different than those expected though, and even if the Danes bring in someone, they wont improve the team by a great deal. They also used to put GP prices up between GP's, they soon stopped that after getting clobbered when us punters found out about a serious injury before they did.
  13. Bookies (Sporting Index) have Australia slight Favourites for tonight and they cant split the Yanks and the Danes. I tend to agree that the Aussies look just the stronger, but would love to see Russia do it.
  14. Not just Lanham should retire from racing at Foxhall, why did they get Tungate as a guest? He still rides our place like a former grasstrack rider in his first season of speedway, obviously likes most other tracks, but certainly not ours. Well done to Bob and CL for their tractor work before the meeting. Also well done to the Plymouth fans for coming all that way, not too sure whether to admire your loyalty, or question your sanity.
  15. Looks like the bit we're getting now should be it, Certainly no more than Bob would usually put down himself. Just hope the Massif don't get piles sitting on those wet seats.
  16. I hate shopping, but that would be more appealing than watching the practice, went to one once, never again I was bored out of my mind.
  17. I assume practice must be Friday morning if we've got to wait until then for the line ups. Pointless doing a prediction until we're sure what the teams will be. Can we assume the Aussies will stay the same? Russia should be stronger with Grigory, but it's the Danes who appear to have the option to change.
  18. Would all you good people going at the weekend do us real Speedway fans a favour. When they bring that vile, horrible, embarrassing card out, boo and jeer like never before and show your utter disgust towards the organisers for ever thinking off it. If someone had told me 30 years ago a pub game like darts would have more credibility than Speedway I'd have laughed, but sadly darts has left our sport in the joke category. I appreciate the double points rule can keep the meeting alive, but they've got to get rid of that bloody card. I just cringe every time I see it and just hope my mates aren't wwtching.
  19. Obviously we don't know the ins and outs of Mr J and his tax affairs (but have heard the stories), but in recent years the Yanks have tried to blood a youngster. But this was when they felt 3rd place was nailed on. They know they haven't a chance of any better than the race off, so maybe they'll give the Boy a go at the NSS. The Swedes look very strong at home and if Greg doesn't get a big one they'll need every point possible from the other 3 to beat the Germans. So probably the right idea to try everything to get through, and then give the lad a ride.
  20. Sweden clear favourites for me. Greg's points should get the Yanks 3rd place.
  21. Just hope the majority of our team come through the fours unscathed.
  22. Certainly produce some good racing last night. The Panthers riders appeared to be struggling with the grip/dirt early in the meeting. Even Nico on his moped managed a pass, but that was only after he'd seen Morten fly around the outside the previous lap. There's been plenty of moaning about the racing recently, but when it was good last night, that hardly gets a mention, except for a couple of posts. Come on peeps, if you're going to whinge when it's crap, then say something positive when it's good.
