  1. Why? I made a comment/prediction that proved to be wrong and I'm happily joining in the "banter." No holes being dug, life's too short to be unable to laugh at yourself.
  2. Have to laugh at myself after my original post was made to look like a turd!
  3. Didn't want Lambert back in the first place, he's toilet
  4. I still think it's a toilet side to be honest. Inside toilet with a heated seat on the last two night's performances apparently!
  5. Was ludicrous bringing him back in the first place. Ben Morley would be better at home and just as good away. Stefan Nielsen hasn't got a team spot, could probably fit him in when the averages change and he likes Rye.
  6. No it wasn't based on one meeting, that was my opinion before the season. Going by your logic Peterborough beat Leicester away, so they must be Elite League standard, we beat Peterborough away too though so we must be better than both and Plymouth are better than the lot. Simples.
  7. No, you can't use one meeting as reasoning to write a team off or not. We were beaten heavily by the Devils on their patch but I still think they'll struggle this year.
  8. I still see them as a wooden spoon contender, they did perform well last night though there can be no doubts about it. I won't make any predictions tonight though!
  9. Be very disappointed if we don't win tonight tbh. Plymouth's side is absolute toilet.
  10. They could do it due to the awful grading system though. On a separate note, tonight proves nothing IMO, Kings Lynn have only got two riders in their side who can be seen as on their way up rather than just NL journeymen, of course they were going to win by a hefty margin.
  11. Remember him breaking the tapes/missing 2 minutes and going out to team up with Eddie for a 5-1 the Friday night that we tonked Berwick at home. What a partnership that was.
  12. I'm not slating James Wright here but the reasons you are putting forward just don't cut it. People who pay riders wages by going to meetings are allowed an opinion. If you want to entertain people then take up acting/singing/dancing. If you're a sportsman and your goal is not to win then you should re-evaluate what you're doing.
  13. Both points are completely true. Neathy was a marmite rider, he was fantastic round Rye though and in 2011 really started to up his game away too and was on the road to being a proper number one in 2012 had he not had his career ending injuries in the first meeting.
  14. It's not too early to predict how he will perform though, he's been around years and it's common knowledge he's a gating tart. It is good that we've hit the ground running but Lambert is a concern for most fans, that says a lot.
  15. Dryml is going to find the PL a major struggle. He's Lubos Tomicek mark 2, relies on his gating too much and looks pony when he doesn't make the start.
  16. The points limit should be lower, the stand alone sides have to fit the agenda of the league, the league doesn't have to meet their agenda. As I've said before and no doubt will say again, if you give Cradley, Kent, Mildenhall etc a lower points limit then they will still be able to build winning sides but it will bring them into line with the likes of Scunthorpe, Buxton etc in trying to develop riders. Having lots of experienced riders floating round the NL helps nobody, one or two is good to help these youngsters develop yes, however the aim should be to push our young riders forward to PL standard, not let them stagnate. Well done to the Kings on the win, well done to the Stags on their ethos of team building. Hope all injured riders are soon back on their bikes.
  17. It's quite simple, if a rider is riding for two/three sides and owned by none then the higher league should take priority. The riders who are occupying EL reserve spots should in the main be racing as PL reserves in a draft system and the likes of Roynon, Birks, Howarth, Kerr, Boxall etc should be in the EL reserve draft anyway. Looks like a cost cutting exercise dressed up as a fast track system from where I'm sitting.
  18. That isn't a squad though. That's using guest riders. If you were a Birmingham fan you'd be pretty annoyed that Kennett was missing a meaningful league match to ride in a challenge, especially around a track he knows well. Challenge meetings are bottom of the pile as far as meeting priority goes. I could be wrong but I'm sure that the list of priority is as follows: Shared event Parent club (regardless of division) Elite League Premier League National League Challenge (regardless of division)
  19. Solid showing from the Rockets in a not so spectacular meeting. It's early days but Lambert is doing nothing justify getting yet another chance in the PL unfortunately. Overall I'm optimistic, Garrity and Boxall can only get better and Kennett will not lose many races round Rye this year. As for Dryml, it's no surprise he only mustered 6 points, he will average the same in whatever league he races because he relies on his gating solely. Poor signing for Peterborough there.
  20. Disappointing, a point was there for the taking and we have missed out. Perhaps Mattress should have scored a little more on a former home track, Simon Lambert should definitely have done better. He's too experienced now to live on the "big track rider" moniker, he should have a clue how to perform adequately at all tracks by now.
  21. So Peterborough should also be missing Blackbird. If I was in charge of Birmingham I'd be miffed to lose two riders to a challenge match. Just hope I don't turn up on Saturday to find out the three riders are in fact missing but we weren't told in advance.
  22. To be fair, One Direction are only the coolest band in the world if you are a teenage girl. I'd say any "teeny bopper" music should be avoided at all costs, there are enough teenage girls trying to cop off with NL second strings as it is haha! As for the original, it works, go with it. It's not hard to get it right with a bit of effort as we have been saying all along. Shame that effort seems to be lacking in most places.
  23. Poor Ty Proctor, better start a thread to discuss where he will end up come June.
