Because Cook is still seen as improving but King and Barker are seen as having reached their level I would imagine. The bloke is a class rider and good for the PL. If he gets contracts abroad I'd still have no issues with him being in a PL and EL team.
-
Kennett, Garrity, Nelson and Greenwood totals 24.41 which leaves 18.09 for the remaining 3 riders if the points limit remains 42.5. Add in Boxall's 5.36 and we're at 29.77 with 12.73 left. If we retain Boxall then it must simply be at reserve. The rumored addition of Klindt on 6.68 would leave 6.05 for the last rider.

I see no problem in tracking Sheppard who is a Rye asset. I've not seen him ride for a while so can't comment on his ability but regular league meetings would only help him. With the news that Scunthorpe are not running NL in 2015 I wouldn't be surprised to see Arron Mogridge in the Raiders side too.

There's plenty of riders around. Luke Harris will hopefully be the first name on the team sheet. Can see a return for Ben Morley too as Kent will need to lose one of their top three and Morley is a Rye asset. Would like to see Danny Ayres too but he'll probably be back at Kent as well considering he is their asset as far as I know. Possibly a space for Luke Bowen as well as his average fits. Morley, Bowen and 5 up and coming riders would be perfect IMO, want to see the Raiders develop riders not just go out to try win the NL.

EL average divided by 0.6 is the quickest way to work out conversions, times by 0.6 to work out PL to EL.

Speaking of rumours: Kennett, Garrity, Klindt, Boxall, Bowen, Greenwood and an other, either Nelson or a new Aussie.

If Wolbert had finished the season on the 5.86 he was carrying until October's greensheets he'd be a no brainer for the Monarchs. On his 6.19, even though it is only 0.33 higher, he would be a little bit of a gamble. Edinburgh are the sort of team that take gambles though, look at Worrall and Sedgmen this year, nobody would have seen them both finishing north of seven point averages. Pretty certain the Monarchs will be challenging to retain their title next year, the promotion know how to build strong sides.

The Worst Ever 7 Your Team Has Had
Ben91 replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Got a paid maximum in his first meeting for us, a challenge v Somerset at home. Threatened to come good but never did, was a shame. He's in my 7 because he was bad for us, no two ways about it. Just like some of the others there's no doubting they were good riders in their time just didn't click at Rye. -
The Worst Ever 7 Your Team Has Had
Ben91 replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think a majority of these rode at number 2 with a few exceptions but my worst 7 modern era Rockets would be: Ross Brady R/R, Ray Morton, Lee Smethills, Ritchie Hawkins, Robbie Kessler, Simon Lambert and Kurt Shields. -
Exactly these points that are highlighted. For all those raving about Garrity, he didn't look an inch a better rider than he was last year before he was injured in the Premier League. Lewis Blackbird and Steve Worrall are the major successes of the FTD, not Garrity and Newman, the reason they have improved however is the fact that they are getting more track time than ever, not because that track time is coming in the EL. Go back to the start of the season, most PL reserve pairings were stronger on paper than their EL counterparts. That is not right no matter what anyone says. If we're going to fast track riders lets do it right and implement a system across the three divisions and below that will help talented, up and coming British riders to reach the Elite League when they deserve to be there and hopefully beyond.
-
Robson is one of the first names on that team sheet surely. I never saw Hubbard or Cox so couldn't comment on them but I'd have Robson in over King, Sundstrom, Kennett and Roynon certainly if we're going on what they did while in a Rye race jacket.

The problem is the FTR riders that have done so well are having 2 NL standard heats then coming up against second strings such as Palm Toft in their other rides. They're not doing as well as people make out. Robert Lambert has done alright yes, but he still has his fair share of heats against NL standard opponents to help inflate his average. The likes of Simon Lambert and Benji Compton have been around longer than Auty and Birks and are nowhere near as good yet they're the ones being "fast tracked" that beggars belief really. The race format has resulted in unrealistic averages as SCB has pointed out. The fast track draft should have been implemented in the PL and another draft implemented in the EL with riders such as Roynon, Auty, Birks etc also encompassing riders such as Richie Worrall and Kyle Howarth who have raced in 1-5's this year. The race format could have remained the same as it is in the PL and NL and the Elite League would have been stronger for it.

Kevin Smith and Ashley Pullen went on to have good careers too I believe.

Depends if it's Silver at his peak or after his comeback. Gutted we didn't get a second season of watching Andrew when he made his comeback. Honourable mention should go to Stefan Ekberg, his signing in 2007 was the one that ensured we won the title that year IMO.

http://www.amcn.com.au/news/1408/arthur-sissis-dumped-from-moto3/ Old article but seems there is life in the rumours of a return to the shale for Sissis.

There's plenty of riders to go round the whole country if the points limit is lowered, as it should well be. As a Rye fan I have missed the NL, it offers us fans regular action and watching a novice mature into a real prospect is always enjoyable to watch.

If Grigorij Laguta Came To The Pl
Ben91 replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Can't see any on this thread though -
On a converted average higher than Kennett's signing Lambert would be a mistake. Like many riders this season in the EL (North, Palm Toft, Thorssell, Klindt) his average is higher than it normally would be because he's raced a lot of heats against the equivalent of NL riders and not so many against heatleaders. No doubt he's a terrific prospect but it'd be foolish to sign him on such a high starting average.
-
He'd be in the main team in no time though, as SCB says it's 2 points gained straight away. Seems silly to look a gift horse in the mouth.
-
The same Conda who raced for Glasgow a few seasons back and was absolute gash?
-
I'd not be surprised to see Lanham on a sub 5 average. A Kennett/King top 2 would be a very good start but I won't believe that until I see it.

Worrying Rye House Rumours
Ben91 replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The fact that Silver has told the local rag that he may bring Kasper back next season should be enough to show that the Rockets will be running at PL level in 2015. Kasper has potential but can't gate to save his life. The track isn't suddenly going to become covered in dirt unfortunately so I hope we don't see him back tbh as he'll be not much better then he was last year. -
If Lambert rode he'd have probably gone through the card at Lynn, that's 15 points. Half of 14 is 7 so that actually comes out as the same figure. Well done to the Kings, looking forward to seeing how they do in the play-offs.

Radical Suggestion For The Elite League 2015
Ben91 replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The fast track draft needs to be dropped and inplemented in the Premier League for a start. The EL needs to go back to the 15 heat, 7 rider format used in the PL and NL. Squads are implemented and teams have to have 2 British reserves under say, 24. Doubling up is allowed for British riders only. EL meetings are all raced on a Monday and PL meetings are not allowed to be raced on that day, thus stopping riders not being available. Having one race night and a squad system will encourage the world's best riders back to Britain too. It's so simple. -
Rye House V Edinburgh (pl) 6/9/14 @ 7.00pm
Ben91 replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Edinburgh should be taking all the points from this no trouble. Seen Sneddon have some big scoring meetings at Rye in the past so I'm sure he'll give Luke and Oliver something to think about.
