  1. The result was tight but the green shoots of revival are there to see at Rye. Was expecting more from Kennett, thought King would trouble him but he'd be otherwise dominant. Early season though, he'll win more races than he doesn't at home this year. Aspegren impressed after his first race duck. His bend 1/2 cut back in heat 10 was fantastic. More of the same and he'll soon be a Rye favourite. Early signs from Jakobsen are very good. He can gate for one. Had pace out front and once he gets to grips with the track he should do even better at home. For the Witches Heeps looked very good. Nielsen would have won them the match had his machinery been more reliable.
  2. To carry on with his racing career. Otherwise you can't blame him for not rushing back.
  3. Should have bought a return ticket when he flew out then.
  4. While one meeting doesn't make a season this result shows just how much the Brummies are going to rely on Ellis (and Perry). Great to hear that a big crowd attended last night, let's hope they all return best week for the second leg and continue to do so throughout the season. One of the best things about watching Speedway at this level is watching a rider develop from being a 'wobbler' into a solid NL rider and then hopefully further on from that. I hope the Brummies fans will appreciate that as come the end of the season they'll be looking at completely different riders to the ones that rode last night in a few cases.
  5. Take your facts elsewhere please, there's no place for them here.
  6. Why have you signed Kozza Smith then?
  7. Restart colours I assume. I like a team to wear matching race suits but these could be a lot nicer.
  8. Agreed. Assuming the black/grey are restart colours. All well and good having a new sponsor and race suits but it'd be nice to keep a little more of the club's identity too.
  9. The real test is if the colours run once they've been through the wash. Not overly keen on the design/colour of them myself but makes the team look a more professional outfit.
  10. I can't wait to see how Alf Hagon does for the Kings this year.
  11. Hoping so, putting a good run together at the moment so fingers crossed I'll be turning up with a smile on my face from football!
  12. If we can win the meeting I'll be happy. Hopefully make it down for this to see how the developments to the stadium have gone and to have a look at Busk-Jakobsen on his first appearance.
  13. Well he's not going to be any worse than Dilger is he.
  14. There seems to be a lot of expectation on Zach at Birmingham, he'll have to live up to it or the Brummies will have a long tail. Surprised to see not many people fancy Stoke. Two strong heatleaders, experienced reserves and one of the best engine rooms in the division on paper.
  15. If Scott wants to put his hand in his pocket and bring back Linus and Tai next year I'd happily see us in the EL. It's not that exciting a proposition on the whole though, PL has more variety.
  16. Well it should be expected and hoped for by all clubs. What's the point if you aren't building your team to win the league and every meeting they race in?
  17. It's simple logic, if you win the league but are over stretching your financial capabilities then you shouldn't be putting an expensive team together in the first place, remuneration or none. And then you deserve to go out of business tbh. Glasgow have deep pockets this year and they're building a team they can afford. Edinburgh however announced they made a loss after winning the title, some could say that's because they were living beyond their means, same as Newport after they pulled out all the stops to win the ko cup.
  18. Teams shouldn't be living beyond their means then. I wouldn't feel sorry for someone who buys a car they can't afford on finance then can't keep up the repayments from day one, would you? Same principle applies here IMO.
  19. I thought Mullins was confirmed and the other two were going to go head to head/be assessed for the number 7 spot with the other being named as number 8.
  20. Will make the Kings stronger no doubt. Sanderson has a year of NL racing behind him, would be my choice. Still think the Kings will regret letting Harris go last year, the lad will be one to watch this season.
  21. I'd say there's more pressure on Morley as he'll be the one carrying Konopka probably!
  22. Hope Morley has a great season at Redcar, been knocking on the door without much luck at a PL team spot for the last couple of seasons. Just to be pedantic though he was a full time Rocket a few years ago so to say he has no PL experience isn't strictly true.
  23. How did you know? Helps me get a decent parking space at meetings and I'm not alone in having stupid haircut being a speedway fan
  24. Of course he will, Eastbourne aren't going to win the league.
