Rider withdrawals is my fear too, something we've not been great with announcing in the past too, it isn't beyond the realms of possibility to turn up and see Sam Woods replacing Harris and Danno Verge instead of Davey Watt, then there will be a problem. It'll be a good experience being up close to riders like Watt and Harris in the pits for Hunter, Hume and Bowtell, though it should be about a big send off for fans at the end of the season too. I think the Raiders are out of the equation next year sadly, they've been a breath of fresh air this year so I hope I'm wrong however. Having a 16 man individual and letting Hume, Bowtell and Hunter race off prior to hear one for a spot in the meeting could have worked with the other two becoming meeting reserves.

I'm assuming Harris, Watt and Kennett will be paired with Hunter, Hume and Bowtell respectively and the NL boys points will be vital to win in the pairs format so they'll have to team ride. I also assume that leaves Masters with Priest, Howarth with Hughes and Bowen with Branford. Making it a pairs meeting with these 12 is smarter than an individual as the top boys would make light work of the NL reserves that way. I'll wait to judge until I've seen what happens at the meeting.

A reserve draft with these reserves in protected reserve slots would be good. Each team should draft a number 8 too for times when one of their reserves may be away which I think we have to accept will happen for one reason or another. If the top 5 points limit is around 35-36 then teams are actually no weaker than they were this year except they are tracking two Brits at reserve. Oh and keep the race format as it is, one reserve heat is enough, then these riders will get proper averages for following years when they move out of their reserve slots.

On the topic of meeting format, the best rider on the night should be winner. If Morley had then had to face a semi and a final he may have not won the meeting and that would have been incredibly unfair. If riders are tied there is the run off system which works fine.

Cool, now that's done here comes the debate part. The rumours of you not running picked up steam after the announcement that you were making an announcement at your last meeting was made. Why not just tell the public what's happening from day one? To get more people through the doors for a nothing match with Rye House of course, devious, snide? Quite smart actually in my opinion but obviously I'm criticising in yours. If you've got some reasoned debates to comment on my posts with feel free but the mud slinging is getting a bit tiring now.

Of course, to pick Rye when he had his choice of PL clubs speaks volumes for Len, well at the time at least. That in itself is a huge selling point for Len and he should be able to use that to Kent's advantage.

Silver has nurtured Tai Woffinden no less during the early stages of his career, you really think he'd use that to his advantage when signing or trying to sign young riders.

A Wednesday race night would clash with Denmark but then with NKI and Bjerre already at Lynn that wouldn't be a problem I guess? Wednesday could indeed make more sense than Monday. I think we need to look at what's best for the sport as a whole in Britain, if one or two clubs can't sustain that level of racing then they'd have to drop a tier unfortunately for them. We can't keep making excuses to stop progress.

EL tracks are able to race on a Monday when sky are there so that just isn't true. Each track would have say two home meetings a month, the other two weeks run a NL team.

There has been talk about squads in the EL in the past, or number one riders sharing spots. It's how it's done in Poland and there's no problems with it there. More riders are likely to ride in the EL in a squad too with one race night a week. Quite simple really.

1. Injuries 2. Too many race nights meaning double uppers are riding for another team in Britain, this is unacceptable and remedied easily by having one race night in the EL as I've repeatedly said. Not once have I said teams haven't bothered to find replacements. All PL teams are running with seven man teams though, look at the team declarations there are none with "no rider" in them. The problem isn't lack of riders, it's is about rider availability and this is something easily rectified as I've said. You can't seriously believe running with six man teams will sort this out?

It is the answer going forward however, riders were told for the EL draft if they wanted to be a part of it they had to ride for any team that picked them, there's the solution when it comes to riders not wanting to travel to the north. As for a list of all these riders, there are 91 rider slots in the PL, there have been more than 91 riders compete in the PL this season. That isn't a shortage.
