An insult? Behave. Ben is coming on very well now, I agree but like most riders when he came into the sport he fell off the bike of his own accord on plenty of occasions. Don't take this as a dig at your grandson, just pointing out that everyone has to start somewhere. Locke could learn a lot from Ben I'm sure, but would he want to ask knowing that Ben's grandad has such a low opinion of him?
-
No it isn't, they both had to start somewhere and Morley fell off on his own plenty of times during his first season. Now he's one of the best in the NL and having his best PL season to date. How would Ben have felt if one of his more experienced team mates' relatives had come on here complaining about him every time he rode during his first few months in the sport?

Branford and Morley are both young still and not good enough for full time PL racing yet, so should they just quit? Of course not. But this league is for development, unfortunately the Raiders haven't had the best of luck with their three pointers unlike last season, it isn't helping anyone continually stating how bad they are though in this instance, it's a development league. There have clearly been efforts to find better options for the lower end too, hence Leek being signed. Look at Verge last season, he was awful for Kent and he's now doing pretty well. What's to say Locke and Bowdery won't do the same next year? The gulf in class between the top two and the bottom two in the Raiders' side is huge, that doesn't help matters either, when you have Morley and Branford winning races with ease and then see Locke learning his trade in the next heat it's going to be obvious he's still a way behind them. I remember Ben Morley's first season, he seemed to spend more time under the third bend kick boards than on the track, he's doing pretty well for himself now. It just takes time.

How much do you get paid to mention Geoff Pymar at every possible opportunity out of interest?

Do those claws need a trim Waco?

There'll have been a lot of non-finishers in his races.

Rye House V Plymouth 25/06/2016
Ben91 replied to DragonsDen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There was an abundance of riders that fitted the bill and weren't as much of a gamble as Karger when Klindt left though. Branford for Karger is the least we can do right now, he'd average almost double what Karger is too without a doubt, if not more. -
Embarrassing that the geezer has been signed really, not exact a British prosoect is he?

Coventry Storm V Birmingham - Sunday 26th June - 4pm

Bit of a joke that Davey's allowed in the NL really. -
Surely though as the Cradley team was legal there's no protest to be made and the abandonment is just sour grapes on the part of Mildenhall? Expect the BSPA to come down on them like a ton of bricks and unfortunately it sounds like it'd be deserved too.

Trouble is, if people carry on paying weekly for a poor product then promotors will think nothing is wrong with the product. Good faith only stretches so far.

Rye House V Newcastle Premier League 11/06/2016

Tai Wofinden was never a great gater when he was at Rye. Plenty of time for Lambert to improve his starts, wouldn't be surprised to see him in the GPs in the next few years. -
I'd happily take Bowtell back but he wouldn't fit now.

It was a good meeting no doubt but the standard of our riders on the whole has to be a concern, ten years back or so even there were the likes of Nicholls, Loram, Screen, Havelock, Norris, Richardson and Louis etc. who were EL heat leaders or thereabouts, and people were saying our standard of rider was on the decline then.
-
Why would they when it's front and centre for the entirety of the interview? People like things that you don't like, you like things that other people don't like too I'm sure. Life's too short to waste time complaining about such trivial matters.
-
No it isnt, it's what sportspeople do to make sure their sponsors keep coming back to them, why do you think riders put their caps on the second their crash helmets come off? It's not to keep their head warm or because their hair's a mess, it's because they're covered in sponsorship. They all do it, singling out Hancock is just sour grapes.

Your full stop shouldn't have a space before it.

Imagine a bloke promoting the product that he is paid to promote... Madness.

Why would you hold off signing a rider who could help you win the league this year to try win the league next year instead... I could understand if it was first place wins the title but Eastbourne are likely to reach the play-offs where all four teams start equal again regardless of who finishes top of the table.

Rye House V Newcastle Premier League 11/06/2016
Ben91 replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Meeting starts at 5.30-6pm, finishes prior to the football kick off and the Rye bar makes a killing from showing the game. Although having a pub a stones throw away may be the reason for this not being done in fairness. -

Peter Karger beat Sam Masters a few weeks back, he'll still struggle to average over two points a meeting. -

Another sub-standard import, well done Redcar. -
Birmingham gifted Eastbourne a point by using a guest for Bacon and R/R for Perry, would expect someone like Drury to have more sense than that.

But they want to sign Mitchell Davey...
