  1. I could put a post on instagram saying I'm going to be world champion in 2018, doesn't make it mean a thing. Which would conveniently be against Poole! Skornicki's gone from Wolves, that's probably Schlein off the market. If Davey isn't going to turn the corner we need to act fast, there's no place for compassion in sport if you want to win.
  2. Two days after scoring nothing for us in a home meeting.
  3. It's a rare occurrence these days to come away from a meeting anywhere and feel like you've had value for money to be fair.
  4. Well that's down to Holder and Lambert, not the track. Well I hope the roads aren't too slick or you won't arrive until Tuesday night. I've just got the bug back for going, if they sign Mear they won't see another penny from me until he's out of the team again. I'd actually rather see Boxall, that's how strongly I feel about it.
  5. Holder isn't the rider he was before his injuries at Coventry a few years back imo. So because two Lynn riders underperformed and couldn't make an impression on 'lesser' opposition that makes it the worst meeting you've ever seen?
  6. Watt has to be finished with us now. Simply not good enough, to be replaced by Perks (rightly so) in his last heat shows how bad he was. Ben Barker was in attendance tonight. Kennett is very good at Rye, always has been so it's not a massive surprise to see him go through the card. Holder and Lambert should have troubled him more though. My only criticism would be that he left Robbo in heat one, but Robbo held on for the 5-1 so no harm done. Speaking of Robbo it was good to see him back in the points tonight. For me though Ellis Perks' form has been the biggest positive of our step up. He can trap, he doesn't look wobbly and has been scoring well over what would be expected of a two point number seven. Bomber seemed to look off the pace in the heats he didn't gate, I think a bit more dirt might be in order to give him more opportunities to pass. All in all a positive after last week's disappointing result. Sort the Watt issue and we have a chance of the play-offs.
  7. I'd imagine Thomas hasn't been exposed to a track like Peterborough that often. Far more 'smaller' circuits in the NL than the bigger ones like IOW and Lynn. Hopefully he has a good year, there's not been as much fanfare about him as other youngsters this season so it'd be nice to seem him put a point or two on his average.
  8. Watt's got two meetings over this weekend to prove he can still cut the mustard imo. With no out and out number one the lions share of our points have to be shared between the top four and he's looking a shadow of the rider he was right now.
  9. He's a better rider now than when he was last with you. He needs to have a good season somewhere in the Championship too if he has any ambitions of returning to Rye House in the Premiership next season or later this year.
  10. Bridger's never been great at Rye and he's struggling in the second tier. Plus the small matter of him riding for a Saturday night track means luckily we'll be spared him.
  11. Would've been nice to see the Bears give a Brit a go in the shape of Ben Morley. His average isn't that much lower than Garcia's and he's probably on better kit too.
  12. Rob is a better rider than Ben but his inclusion wouldn't have changed the result in our favour.
  13. Should being the key word. Saturday is a big night for Watt, he needs to show something to suggest he's still got something about him.
  14. Had a few meals at Nonnas Kitchen and always been disappointed. Better bet for an Italian in town is Marconato. Lynn's top three should outscore our top three. We need a big performance from Watt and/or Robbo and for the reserves to outscore their opposite numbers.
  15. He's struggling in the Championship by the looks of things. No ta.
  16. It's one defeat, not ideal but not the end of the world. Branford should have been riding for Rye if we do have priority on his services, the cup is an ideal way to lay down a marker, while realistically he probably wouldn't have made the difference you need to have your best team out whenever possible. Robbo and Watt are going to become scapegoats, it's as clear as day already. Let's look at this league as somewhere between the EL and PL, Robbo was a 4 point EL rider and 7 point PL rider, he's going to average between 5-5.5 in this league I'd say and most people should have known his average would drop from the start. I'm glad we have him back though. As for Watt however he should be averaging his 7 a meeting and early signs aren't looking promising. He can only be afforded so much time because he is a vital cog in the team, a second string who is expected to score like a heat leader. Rory Schlein is in decent form and hasn't got a Premiership spot.
  17. Morley's probably the best guest we could have got. He knows the track and has a point to prove after being left out this year. The promotion should really be trying to buy Branford's contract from Redcar, good guests will be hard to find for Rob, particularly away from home.
  18. It's a cup meeting, it doesn't count towards his average. I'd take a 10-15 point win, anything bigger would be a bonus.
  19. There's no difference between riding at three and riding at four under this format. It's not unusual to put your third averaged rider at four so you have a stronger rider in heat 14. The old format was pony, this format gives far more realistic averages than those that the EL format from the last few seasons produced.
  20. I was looking forward to our trips to Brandon this season, especially as we have a strong ex-Bees contingent. Such a shame what has happened at Coventry, hopefully a solution can be found and you will be back racing on home shale in the future. I feel like I've got the bug back for attending regularly, that's in no small part due to watching Harris and Nicholls last night. Harris will be worth the admission fee alone most weeks I'd imagine, while I think Nicholls will only get better around Rye as the season goes on too. If he can help bring on the likes of Branford and Perks then we could make home a fortress.
  21. One of the best meetings I've ever seen at Rye I'd say. The stadium wasn't as bad as some have made it out to be, obviously more work is still needed though. It's easy to see why fans take to Harris wherever he races while Nicholls team riding with Perks was incredibly classy. Speaking of Perks, a very impressive debut, hopefully he carries on in the same vein. Harder nights for Robbo and Watt, the latter in particular should be scoring more than five at home and hopefully he can next week. All in all a very positive evening. I think I may have the bug back. I'll be rushing to Rye after watching Stevenage at Colchester next Saturday.
  22. I'd put Nicholls at five as he's more reliable out of the traps than Bomber and the number five has three heats with a reserve partner.
