  1. Not a one track pony but generally goes better on the smaller circuits. Can't remember him being quite as bad away from home as he has been this season in the top flight though. Cost an away point by two heatleaders not weighing in again it could be argued.
  2. Not being rude Gustix but most people who are interested in Rye House will check the Rye House website regularly or the speedwaygb website where they will see pretty much every press release from every club on a daily basis.
  3. He's averaging under four away from home this season though.
  4. I hope the other NL clubs, the IOW in particular, are appealing this. Why should Hurry get an assessed average when Harland Cook who hasn't raced for just as long isn't allowed to ride on a three point average. Hurry has an EL average which should be converted to give him a NL figure or at the very least he should be coming in on an average which means he could only sign in place of Morley or Wajknecht.
  5. Always seemed an odd fit to me when he went to Swindon. Never been a big track rider.
  6. He seems better at home than he has been for the last couple of seasons in the second tier but his away performances haven't been those of a heatleader, which he is in this league. He's averaging sub-four away from home at present, that's not good enough. An improvement in Eddie's away form may well see us do better on the road but none of our top three have covered themselves in glory on our trips away this far. Then we might end up challenging for a play-off spot. Half the league qualify after all.
  7. The season is relatively young and Branford is riding to roughly his average. Can't see any issue at all. He'll only improve.
  8. All in reasonably good form in the Championship however. Lawson is on a par with Tungate at least, the same goes for Kerr and Starke, while Heeps is a big improvement on Graversen. The changes make you stronger without a doubt.
  9. He's had more comebacks than Rocky.
  10. Is narrow track similar to longtrack?
  11. The team manager should take ownership of his decisions. There's no 'we' deciding the tactical, it falls squarely on the shoulders of the team manager to make that choice. It shouldn't be up to the riders to decide between themselves either. Take their opinions on board of course but ultimately Schroek should be telling them who is on the TR.
  12. Look at the list of rider averages from last season to this, there are over 150 names on there. Of course you have to factor out names that have retired or not wanting to race over here but there are riders not on that list who would be willing to race here. In the top two leagues there are 18 teams, that is 126 team slots. So to say that there are no enough riders isn't true. Of course the lower end British riders would still be allowed to ride in the NL but if there were fixture clashes with their senior club (Premiership or Championship) then they would have to find a replacement or use R/R. But that's perhaps a subject for another time and place than the Rye 2017 thread.
  13. Absolutely no need for doubling up this season either. More than enough riders around to have filled teams in both divisions without some riders having a club in both leagues.
  14. There were no other meetings last night, plenty of guest options out there. Or R/R would have scored more.
  15. Kennett is usually decent enough around Monmore, must be a reason for his Watt-esque showing. Clegg's been poor this season, hence them dropping him. The reasoning that he'd like to prove a point makes some sense but his poor form should have been good enough reason to steer clear. Bewley would have been the ideal guest. Does the eight day rule apply to meetings for a rider's own club as he was there last week? Otherwise not booking him was a big faux pas.
  16. They've both raced at Rye House before and have been/are world class riders.
  17. I get the impression you're not keen on Bowen Waco?
  18. BWD makes Poole stronger. If Klindt has his gating gloves with him he could be the deciding factor.
  19. It doesn't take a genius to work out that the club that signs the rider in the winter gets priority over the club that signs the rider during the season. I'd expect that even if the rules say otherwise that we'd have that agreement in place with Edinburgh, hence them allowing him to sign for us too. When there's a fixture clash we'll get a facility and Wells is far better than 2017 Davey Watt.
  20. Wells signed for Edinburgh. The season started. Wells signed for Rye House. Therefore Edinburgh have priority in the event of a clash. The key bit there is underlined.
  21. Will score more than Watt. Don't envy him the journey from Edinburgh to Hoddesdon overnight though. Good to see the promotion acting swiftly.
  22. Worrall and Garrity's averages are too high for a straight swap and Wells is better than Barker.
  23. Pay your way, have your say is my opinion. We're out of what was a winnable cup competition three weeks into the season, while R/R for Ellis helped Swindon, let's not forget that Watt only scored six points from eight rides. Not good enough. He's obviously in the team for Saturday, I can't see any changes being made this near to the tie. In my opinion he needs to put in an 8+ point score otherwise we should be exploring other avenues.
