  1. I see your point, however the dearth of number 1 riders will still be there when Lubos' gets his new average so you will find yourself trying to replace a lower end rider with a top rider still. You are currently under the 42.5 limit, so replacing two riders, say Stichaer (he was on the way out earlier on in the year supposedly) and Tomicek, plus the points you are under the limit by now gives you 15.15 to play with, you can bring in two riders around 7 points each or a 10 point man and a rider to fill the lower end gap. There may not be many riders on nine point averages, howerer there are plenty I can think of on 10 points.
  2. As I have said previously, the points you lose from Lubos will be used presumably to bring in a 8/9 point man for a lower order rider, so why waste time with a 4 pointer at number 1, when you could bring in a heatleader who can hold their figure now? Yes, you have had a tough time, however it was a pretty wide spread opinion pre-season your team would fly or flop, unfortunately it has been the latter.
  3. Try telling Tsunami that Even if he is averaging 6 for you thats still dropping 3 points from his average and the figure he gains as a Green Sheet average will be combined with Somerset meetings. If signing a nine point man and hoping he averages six is what Stoke want, things must be pretty grim for you this season.
  4. Lubos' average from 10 PL meetings this season is 4.09. It's all about the facts as Tsunami keeps saying, and that figure is a fact. He has dropped more than half his average.
  5. I agree Scribbler, if he isn't eligible then we should be punished, rightly so. As it stands there is no evidence to say whether or not Tyson could ride, however what is certain is if any money has changed hands and Tyson was ineligible then Lens problems will be coming from higher up than the Bspa/scb.
  6. not having a go at all, I can think of three times Tomicek has been discussed by myself, twice on threads relating to him, here and when he signed for Somerset as well as a third thread in which I made a general comment on that subject, to which you replied with a petulant remark regarding Tomicek thus that 'conversation' began. You can throw words and insults around all you want Tsunami, you are the one coming across childish here yet again. I don't give a damn about Tomiceks personal life, that's not my business, what he does on a speedway track, however I can say whatever I bloody well like about. You talk about impartiality yet your own views are not neutral, you are contradicting yourself. Maybe if you gave a reasoned argument rather than patronising and name calling then I'd take you seriously. You clearly wanted to start an argument with myself and or Najjer on this thread Tsunami, the quote below is the spark which lit the fuse, to use an analogy.
  7. I just thought I'd sink to your level cast out the line and your sure to get a bite as they say... Teams should be signing riders to improve. If Tomicek drops to say 6, they will probably replace a lower order rider with a 8/9 point man, why struggle with a poor number one til he gets a new average when you could by pass it and bring in a heatleader straight away? Just because Tomicek once rode for the Diamonds you don't need to jump on the case every time someone states their opinion that he's not a 9 point pl rider, I'll say what I like about speedway here, because that is what this website is for. It's a sad state of affairs when you can't post an opinion here without someone jumping down your throat and trying to belittle you, I thought this was the speedway forum.
  8. Have they been told to move the bouncy castle from where it is presently degrading and put it round the concrete wall? All joking aside, i'm hoping to be present at this one, hopefully the track is prepared to give us some good racing.
  9. Because we realise Tomicek is a terrible signing on a near 9 point average? Ironic someone advising us to grow up and then name calling like a five year old. Think I should hand over to Najjer for the facepalm moment there
  10. In my opinion, the only worthwile part of an F1 GP is the first lap and the last lap. Most of the passing inbetween is generally through pit stops, retirements and the occasional driver error. Maybe that's where speedway is going wrong, there's not too much excitement with F1 so when it does happen, the fans enjoy it more. I propose speedway races are lengthened to 50 laps each, riders can give their all for the first lap and the final lap, however the other 48 they have to to processionally trail round, of course pit stops for re-fuelling and tyre changes will take place and be the main cause of over taking.
  11. Very true, there would still be a home rider to support at Cardiff in the form of the wildcard too. Whilst the two British spots are not officially guarenteed, we clearly get two spots a year just for the purposes of Cardiff and Sky TV.
  12. British speedway is slipping no doubt. We are behind, Poland, Australia, Denmark, Sweden and Russia, whilst slipping even further is always a possibility. Looking through the posts here, Ladyluck's regarding Sweden being in a similar position to us is something I do not agree with, Sweden are still bringing through some brilliant young riders, whilst our best youngsters at the moment will only be 5/6 point Elite League riders in the future in my opinion. Riders like Tomas Jonasson and Linus Sundstrom, I can see challenging for world titles in future, Craig Cook, Josh Auty and Ben Barker, I can't see any of them getting into the GP's at all to be perfectly honest. Thats nothing personal against them, just my view. The next breakthrough British rider in my opinion will be Marc Owen, if he steers clear of injury and keeps focussed on the sport, which i'm sure he can, then he can go all the way to the top. Riders like Marc are natural talents, Marc could have been born in any country and he'd still be a fantastic speedway rider, other countries, who have the facilities to train wherever and whenever they want seemingly can manufacture brilliant riders who would perhaps have only been of an average standard without the training they have been given.
  13. I feel the Management Commitee would prefer to lose a NL team to the PL over an EL side. Plymouth seem to have been planning to step up since 2007, however if it is not right for the club, having a team in the NL is better than no team at all of course. If there was to be more requests to join the PL then the Trophy would presumably be culled, then of course we are heading down the route of having one big league, whilst the National League would continue for junior and stand alone teams who do not wish to step up. The main problem at all levels of speedway is there are pockets of clubs who want different things and different levels of rider etc, these pockets are too small to create smaller divisions, so the three we have at the moment is the best option. Anyway, that's my view, seems we have veered off topic a little at least we aren't all arguing
  14. That's perfectly acceptable Scribbler, as I have said previously, I'm concerned we may be developing a rider for a PL rider and also the fact that a fine win may be ruined because Tyson may not have actually been allowed to ride.
  15. True, however we have made the signing within the rules, I don't agree with them, but that's the way it is, every other club plays them so us doing so is no different. I think it is wrong to crucify Rye for this signing, we have three teenagers, as Ash has stated, plus two of our side are in the Rockets Premier League side, whilst Jamie Smith is the experienced spearhead, which most other sides, Scunthorpe included have in their team. It is quite ironic that Scunthorpe fans are complaining, considering you had Byron Bekker, a South African, in your NL team for X amount of years. No-one batted an eyelid or spoke about developing talent for other countries then did they. Oh and remember Tai Woffinden, the unknown Aussie who came over in 2006? The fact he races for GB now is irrelevant as when he came overfirst he clearly was racing as an Australian, hehad "The Wizard of Oz" written on his Kevlars
  16. Yeah he did, I agree that he didn't need to as we were on the way to a comfortable victory, I don't understand Montie, all day yesterday you were Nelson, Nelson, Nelson, now that a majority here are against it, you have jumped bandwaggon.
  17. Not at all, Tyson isn't taking a young Brits place, unless you class David Mason as a young Brit, if you actually read my posts there you would see I stated I did not agree with Aussies in the NL, however whilst it is in the rules it is allowed and there's no changing it. And two faced is a completely wrong example to use... It's lucky I could understand bad grammar, otherwise I'd have ignored this post. If you'd read my other posts in other threads you would see I have suggested if we use Aussies at this level then they should come in on 8 point averages. Of course anything for a dig Roger, or should I call you wembley81? I think that's personal abuse again... Back to speedway issues rather than petulance, can any more light be shed on whether Tyson has actually signed for Rye, or what the arangement is with him racing for the Cobras?
  18. Firstly why is Ty racing for the Cobras illegal? There's no proof he hasn't got a youth mobility visa, I'm sure he wouldn't have been allowed to race if he had not got one, he was just waiting for his opportunity. Secondly, he is on a 6 point assesed average, replacing David Mason, this means Ben Morley (6.21) has to move out of the resrve berth. The fact that he replaces David Mason also puts paid to the 'replacing a young brit' stuff, if he was I'd be unhappy, what I'm concerned abou now is we may well be developing a young rider for a Premier League rival. I've just got in from this fantastic meeting, which outshone the first by a mile, Ty aside, Shane Hazelden was brilliant for Rye, whilst until his unfortunate crash, Marc owen looked very good too, I hope he is ok as it looked pretty alarming.
  19. Tyson Nelson riding at 7 for the Cobras today, confirmed at the track, guess he is replacing Mason, Morley moves up to number 2.
  20. Unlucky Stoke... You could of had Lubos Tomicek
  21. As I understand it, apparently we have a permit for Kurt Shields which can be used for someone else, whether that stipulates who or what level, i'm not sure. Thats how Worky got Kenny Ingalls, they had a permit for Tom Hedley which was unused last season. Honestly I have no idea how the minefield of work permits work, but that's what i'm assuming.
  22. I'm guessing Tyson is in for David Mason then, whilst it is another Aussie coming into the league, seeing him last night he can be no worse than Magic has this season and he has a reputation as one for the future. It means we have also made a ruthless transfer move, snatching him from under Sheffields nose perhaps, the last rider we did that with (Wuffy) is now a World Class rider
  23. Has the lad actually signed a contract for Sheffield yet? If not, stick him in for Luke and steal a march, looks like he could hold a 5 point pl average, forget about him riding nl
  24. On his part, meaning in Brundles mind, I think he'll struggle in the nl personally. As Millsy has been loaned out though, I'm assuming Bournemouth hold his registration for the year, though he could even have been loaned to Rye first as he was originally going to replace the injured Jamie Smith.
