  1. So not only have we lost a club in Mildenhall, their demise has put Danny Halsey and now Tim Webster, two young Brits, out of a job. This is not a dig at Jerran Hart or Luke Priest btw, they do need to work, however Jerran is more than holding his own at Premier level, whilst Luke is probably at his level now, no doubt he could have gone further if it wasn't for his terrible injuries a few years back. Best of luck to Tim and Danny on finding new teams.
  2. if you can remember the 50's, shadders, you have obviously aged very well!
  3. Bit unfair on Paul, considering he has o ly had three meetings as a Rocket and didn't look bad in any of them. I hope Danny gets fixed up, I was disappointed when he wasn't named as a rocket last year which seemed to knock his confidence, whilst we should not have sold his contract as the fella has a decent future in the sport ahead of him.
  4. Surely we could have signed Olly Rayson or Luke Priest? Whilst the Mildenhall situation is up in the air at the moment they surely would be happy to move to a club where they can race and also be paid. If not, Stokes should certainly have been promoted. Hopefully Morley makes a swift recovery.
  5. No I didn't, the rest of that post was topic related you have a knack of censoring others posts to suit your own argument. Back on topic, it seems the long tail the Devils now have has already caused problems, I'm sure losing starke will prove to be a mistake on the devils part, however now he is at rye I'm sure we will look after him
  6. Ah, Malcy babes, welcome back BW has been persistently moaning about Rye House and it is hard to understand his/her posts, don't you worry about me, you have your holier than thou reputation to keep up You've just sent another thread off topic too, tut tut.
  7. Change the record, and learn to spell too. Paul has signed for the Rockets, if he has outings for the Cobras too then fair enough, he is certainly a very good NL rider.
  8. This topic has been discussed over and over again, until a time if/when the decision is changed then have a moan then. Lots of other team try to pull a fast one or cheat, why rye have become the scapegoat for this I have no idea, It was pretty inventive of len to try and bend the rules and use Tyson, that's the old school type mangememt which won us trophies a few years back, I admit, Tysons points should really be taken off, but they haven't been so there's no argument unless there is an appeal.
  9. Certainly unlucky for the Cobras last night, Jerran Hart scored less than Smithy would have, whilst r/r picked up 1 point, a lot less than Kyle would have scored. We also lost Ben Morley early on and that will have played a part. Magic Mason scored paid 10 from 5 rides, not bad at all, he wasn't fantastic last night but does seem to be starting to get nearer to where he was a few years back. Lee was unfortunate with an exclusion and a fall, whilst Shane Hazelden was again brilliant, he now looks so at home round Rye and ilook forward to his races. Tom stokes made a lightening start in heat two to win, whilst had the pacebut couldn't make a killer pass in his other rides, I noticed at the start he looks at the tapes rather than the magnetos on the gate, maybe that would help him, the lads certainly NL standard though.
  10. Oh Roger, when I saw your name I knew i'd get a mention from my number 1 stalker If we did sign Paul i'd be more than happy, we'd certainly be able to help him progress whether he was riding for us, the lad can go far in speedway.
  11. Would be good to see an American team at Rye to take on the Rockets. Although unlikely, it would be fantastic to see someone like Sudden Sam Ermolenko don the kevlars for a few meetings for the US team, I know he did/was planning to have a few match races with Ryan Fisher at Michal Makovsky's testimonial this season and he rode at Rye in Chris Neath's testimonial, looking pretty smooth in a few match races with the late Rob Woffinden and Neathy himself in one race I believe. With the 9 man formula, something along the lines of the following would be interesting: 1. Ermolenko 2. Castro 3. Kerr 4. Ingalls 5. Fisher 6. Burmeister 7. Novratil 8. Gomez 9. Abbott Of course, i'm sure any combination of riders would be good to see, the Dream Team's visit to Rye earlier this season was highly entertaining an a great meeting.
  12. Starke can come and race for Rye if he wants we've got injury troubles ATM and I've always rated him highly, he wouldn't be held backfrom PL speedway at rye or elsewhere either if he came to Rye.
  13. Typical really, one rule for the top two divisions, yet the 'professional' National League has it's own rules regarding missing riders.
  14. Ah yeah, I remember now, was in the press release when he originally stepped up, Evans for Hughes then I reckon with r/r for Marc if he is unavailable, however he may want to test his fitness before the u-18s at Somerset which is on the 30th I believe...
  15. As I said in my post, Marc Owen is also out injured, leaving us 2 guests and R/R, Hughes is not number 1, Jamie Smith is, however as we are missing 3 main team riders, two guests are allowed in addition to r/r.
  16. With no Marc Owen already (i believe?) plus lee and Kyle at Workington, it looks like two guests and R/R, I'd like to see Barrie Evans for Kyle, Jon Armstrong for Lee and Tom Stokes as no. 8 taking the R/R rides. Queue press release proving me wrong however
  17. Strange, well if Kyle isn't riding that is a bonus for the Cobras, still think we will see a win for the Hornets however.
  18. Kyle is a Newport rider so I'd guess the Hornets get first call on his services.
  19. This isn't an issue of 'experience' it's the point that so many posters on here think that just because we weren't round in the halcyon days that fans like myself and Najjer know nothing about the sport and I'm getting p***ed off with it so I'm cutting the crap when I post, I'll say what I feel and if you don't like it, lump it. Tsunami, you obviously have a vendetta because myself and Najjer have said both here and in the past that your mate Lubos is not a 9 point premier league speedway rider, the fact that we are right has led to you trying to degrade our postings on other topics, rather than just accepting you were wrong and moving on as most others on the forum would do. Take off your tinted glasses and take a good long look at the ridiculous way you have conducted yourself recently. Is there any danger of a speedway discussion on this forum?
  20. Here here! It's funny how I say Tsunami is on a high horse so he replies that we are also on high horses, the irony is hilarious! Of course Naj, we know nothing do we? We are too young and just because we haven't managed a speedway team, what we say is irrelevant, nice to see prejudice is still with us.
  21. No, why should we change our views just for Malcolm Vasey. You do not know me Rob, so how dare you make remarks such as "your type" that's personal abuse in my book. You seem to be clinging to Malcolms coat tails a lot, you are allowed your own opinion you know.
  22. Talk about double standards, it amazes me the brass neck you have to talk about high horses, yet your issue is based in the fact that you know Lubos and you take people commenting on his riding personally.
  23. If our website wasn't pish then I would! You should be working on your swing for when I kick your backside at golf next week
  24. I hope the first bit is not aimed at myself, I do not come here to jump on Stoke, or antagonize Malcolm Vasey (or any other user for that matter), he is just another member of the forum to me and if he says something I disagree with, then I will post my views back to him, it's what a forum is for! I was not the one who led this thread to petty abuse, all along I have maintained the view, which I still believe is true, that Lubos Tomicek is a poor signing for the Potters, I will not change that stance just because the Stoke team manager tells me too, neither because of his off track problems, whatever they may be. It is good that we see team managers here, however just because they post on the forum, it doesn't mean we should all take a "he's a team manager lets brown nose him" approach. I feel like I have gone on a lot on this thread, however I used to have a lot of respect for Malcolm Vasey, due to the fact that he came here and told the fans what was going on, as well as what he has done within the sport. That respect, however has gone out the window over the last day. Nice to see we are getting back on track Abbott, as you wsay, it will be interesting to see how Stoke build once Lubos' gains his new average.
  25. I'm assuming we will use Tom Stokes in place of Marc whilst R/R for Mason will come into play again. However we could use a guest, if, by a minor miracle we do book a guest I would like to see Jon Armstrong, Karl Mason would have been my first choice however he is riding at Weymouth for Bournemouth the same evening. I think we will see a big hornets win tbh, a safe meeting will be nice of course.
