  1. Opportunity missed if this turns out to be true.
  2. I really believe there will be further tweaks to this Brummies lineup. Will all depend on how many points are available when the new averages come out. Its great to get the win but it was a close victory against a fellow struggler. Another heat leader on the radar but will the numbers game allow it????
  3. Both Thompson's are having a hard time of it at the moment. I'm not sure if it was temporary cover tbh.
  4. So lets presume Hagon for Pearson and a solid 3rd heat leader for Wright (Howarth?). What other changes are coming? Surely Nielson will be replaced? There are some gems out there, its just the small matter of finding them. Again more points available when the next lot of averages are released, 2 or 3 maybe? Rew for Neilson???? I haven't done any maths but all of a sudden I see a very solid lineup.
  5. Be very surprised if its on, been hammering it down for 20 minutes and no sign of a letup.
  6. Can't agree with this. One heat leader and a very good second string to replace Wright and Nielsen for a start. Morris is underperforming at the moment but that wouldn't be anywhere near as noticeable if others were chipping in, his form will improve, I'm quite sure of that, although the huge average was an issue with initial team building, it may not be now.. Without sounding too harsh I'd keep Morris, Sedgman, Bowtell and Thompson, and rebuild the team. That's obviously not going to happen though. Proctor didn't work and Joe Thomson is a work in progress. Wright will not work. Pearson is just not good enough Nielsen..time to find a different career begs the question 'who is available?'
  7. I think you will find that a fair few Cradley fans attend both Birmingham and Wolves. There numbers are dwindling but I'm pretty sure the low Brummies attendances include a fair few floating fans from Cradley and a few from Wolves. The fact is Perry Barr isn't a great venue for watching speedway, traffic is also an issue and I guess the poor team adds the finishing touch.
  8. My money is on two changes (for Nielsen and Wright), which potentially could make a big difference.
  9. Sounds harsh I know but the Brummies are actually stronger with guests for James Wright. Who is available when changes can be made? Surely they won't continue like this?
  10. A couple of early changes needed here, or this team could become whipping boys in my opinion.
  11. Looks like a pretty solid team to me. Whatever happens the Lions will have a decent reserve rider, I'd expect Sedgman and Allen to swap at least once during the season and Dan Thompson will hold his own (at least at Leicester), and may just kick on, which would be a big bonus. Not a lot to choose between premier league sides last year and I'm expecting the same again.
  12. Moany? Are you having a laugh? Maybe his honesty and straight talking Isn't to your liking?
  13. The track looked ok but riders were having difficulties entering the third bend. Max Clegg took the safest route but it was also the slowest (he needs to move off the line a bit more) Some top racers in both teams but it was hard going from the back. Still another enjoyable evening with the travelling partners relieving the club of some 50/50 cash.
  14. A very competitive meeting. The Monarchs deserved a point. The Lions tail does seem a little vulnerable now, particularly if one of the heat leaders as an off day, they may get away with it at home but over two legs I think it could be a struggle. The big danger for me are Plymouth, with a likely semi final of Glasgow v Poole in the pipeline.
  15. Hope Dougie isn't too battered, Nick Morris also took a heavy fall in Poland yesterday, although he did finish his particular meeting and won his last race. Could be an interesting night at Monmore.
  16. This will be a tough meeting for Wolves. Its not really fair to place pressure on the reserves but the Wolves duo may need to up there game on Monday. Realistically Worrall should clean up for Lynn. Apart from the reserves, a lot will depend on how Pickering takes to Monmore (his first visit?) It should be a very entertaining meeting.
  17. Got to be better than watching maulings every week. A good competetive meeting. The result was about right. Leicester deserved the win.
  18. I can only judge on tonights performance but based on that, the Diamonds are two very good heat leaders short of being a competetive team. I doubt if too many fans would continue to watch that team. Fair enough Leicester are very good at home but that was woeful, and sadly some fans did not go tonight because they knew it would be a no contest
  19. Should be much closer than the first leg and hopefully the new promotion get a decent crowd (if the weather holds out)
  20. Some decent racing despite the scoreline. Scunny were very dissapointing though. Warmer weather and closer scorelines asap please. Joe Thompson the big mover at this very early stage.
  21. For goodness sake, no speedway for months at a time when the world is in turmoil and people are still moaning about crazy stuff. Fair enough, Adam Ellis is a big miss but it would take a lot more than that to keep me away.
  22. Its game on now. In the balance. Should be a nail biting second leg.
  23. What choice did they have? We ended up in a situation where they had to run on a waterlogged track anyway. Under normal circumstances tonights meeting would have been off. I have no idea what would have happened if it had been postponed?
