I see the Diamonds v Scunthorpe match has also been postponed now giving more time to work on the track. Let's hope for speedway this works out well for The Diamonds. -

Why do folk continually have a go at the Glasgow Promotion because they have successful business? I'm fed up pointing out that the Facenna brother financially support other ventures, such as junior football (equivalent of English non-league) and do lots for the community and charities. Folk seem to forget the help they have given to injured riders from visiting teams and support to Team GB. Too many green eyed monsters with tunnel vision. Maybe the teams they follow would have more cash to splash if the total product offered was up to the standard offered at Ashfield.- 352 replies

If a rut can be uncovered that easily by a foot think what a rear wheel at speed is going to do it. The consequences of the extra drive gained from hitting a solid concrete base could be disastrous on so many levels. It doesn't matter what team you support or at whatever track this occurred the simple truth is it was dangerous and the track was not fit for racing. -

Especially when training when you are required to visit EVERY track at your own expense. -

Got to wonder why the SCB allowed the meeting to go ahead having already deemed it necessary for work to be carried out on the track? Safety is paramount and you have to wonder if financial considerations have, wrongly, been given priority? -

But if it wasn't showing pre-meeting would the referee have known about it? We all know tracks can deteriorate as meetings progress but when you know there is something as dangerous as a concrete curb at risk of being exposed you take preventative measures to rectify that beforehand and don't just cross your fingers and hope for the best while gambling with riders' lives. I'm sure H&S must come into play. -

So Newcastle Promotion have commented "Grant said: “We do have issues with drainage with the track, and also have issues with an old kerb from years ago coming through the surface from below. “We know that, but tonight (Sunday) was absolutely no worse than it had been over the last few weeks, so there was no need for any of this tonight." If they knew the kerb was coming through it was clearly an issue and the meeting should never have been run in the interests of safety. Rob Grant's butchering skills are showing through as he is obviously talking mince. -
No surely 15 heats of 6pts adds to 90 half of which is 45? If the nominated heat 15 points don't count then why bother having it. Ht15 can be the most expensive ht for promotions and I remember if a match had been won by ht top riders on higher pay wouldn't be nominated. Equally some riders had contracts saying if they wanted to ride in ht 15 they could even if they had scored poorly. Another of speedway's own goals

Well if 3 or 4 clubs don't run next year then I'd say so. One thing that has, IMO, killed speedway was averages below 45pts. Each team has 45 available in a match so that is what teams should be built to. Fans are being cheated when they are given a team with less than that.

Has he? Can't see one man preventing the leagues amalgamating if that's the way the BSPL want to go. Two leagues, imo, is suicide for British Speedway. And as for CVS saying Wolves will only compete in a top league I must be missing something as only one rider, Lake Becker, rode exclusively for Wolves last year so the other 6 riders were riding in the 'lesser' division. British Speedway has turned from being the best in the world to a joke.

Surely if the PL and CL merge the combined league would still be the top league CVS says Wolves would only compete in? A team with 16 or however many teams has got to be a better option and a way forward surely?

And I thought all fairy tales started with "Once upon a time..."

Considering Glasgow fans have 3 meetings of interest in 3 consecutive days (and possibly another two next week) you would think a little consideration of costs would be in order? Lower prices would surely translate to a greater income from all geographical areas. Edinburgh fans have it tough too with 4 possible meeting in 4 days

Just wondering if Edinburgh have found a loophole in the regulations in using Jason Edwards as a guest in so many of their last meetings after the team change and signing deadline passed? Is there (or should there be) a rule limiting the number of time one particular rider can appear as a guest for the one team? Don't get me wrong as I think it's great a young British rider is getting the opportunity to ride especially when he is prepared to travel to Scotland for meetings when so many other have declined the chance to ride for Glasgow or Edinburgh in the past but it begs a few questions.
