  1. Has the possibility of another venue in the Swindon area been explored or is the Promotion leaving all its eggs in one basket in hope?
  2. Should be interesting to see if Bomber is selected to ride for GB against the RoW at Ashfield. As its a Saturday evening and no more than a friendly challenge surely Berwick should have priority on him?
  3. Or perhaps a rider can only guest at a track once in a season and only for every other club once in the season? I'm pretty sure the like of Bomber Harris, Kyle Howarth, Tom Brennan to name but three know some tracks as intimately as they know their home track.
  4. I see Scunthorpe have listed Justin Sedgeman as a guest for this fixture which mean he will have raced as a guest in the last 3 CL level meetings at Glasgow. No wonder new fans get confused when a rider appears for three different teams, none of which are his own.
  5. Whiles it's obvious points are being haemorrhaged away at 6 & 7, I'd have thought getting a No1 would have been a priority. Paying for top quality guests can't be helping the finances and I'm sure the fans want to see their own no1 every week.
  6. Granty's application for membership of the Magic Circle was obviously declined
  7. Is it not Matty Weathers Bowtell is guesting for rather than Max Clegg?
  8. No big shake ups - the track has had the bumps and ruts smoothed out now
  9. I wonder what the riders actually make of their manager's decision making after his choices at Berwick and now Ashfield?
  10. There have been suggestions made on various threads that the 'retirement' would suit Leicester's busy match schedule for June as they have now been granted a guest facility for 28 days and that some guests would obviously fare better at some away tracks and maybe after a break he may come back refreshed.
  11. I've been watching speedway for over 50 years and have seen fences made from railway sleeper (Crewe), plates off a battleship (Exeter) as well as the usual wire or solid board fences and have witnessed horrible crashed and injuries occur with every type of fence tried. Yes they get caught in the wire fences but equally rider bounce off solid board fence backing onto the track and riders that were behind them. I don't know what the answer is but sadly with the nature of the beast that is speedway I doubt we will ever find a totally satisfactory and safe solution.
  12. I'd have though making enquiries about Anders Rowe would have priority over Adam Roynon (unless all the rumours about it being a tactical retirement are true?)
  13. He's not there to be popular with the riders. He is employed(???) by the Promotion to produce a winning team and to do that you have to be ruthless changing riders in heats as required. There are a lot of Glasgow fans been around for a long time who know the sport inside out and when reserve or tactical substitute changes should be made. I've no doubt newer fans must wonder why the current manager gets such a hard time from sections of the supporters but these supporters are the ones that know allowing a visiting team to take a point away or only winning by 3 point rather than 4 away from home can change the outcome of the play-offs. NOR IS HE THERE FOR SELF-PROMOTING PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
  14. It would have been about 20 years ago. He didn't make a tactical substitution that possibly cost us a win and he paid the price. One of the Promoters was said to have fancied the job of team manager and that was seen as an excuse to get rid of Ian. Not only did we lose a team manager but we lost an incredible fan and historian who also had a website which had encyclopaedic information about EVERY rider that had riden for the Tigers Cut Ian Steele and he would have bled Glasgow Tigers. A real gentleman with a lovely wife, Anne, who was also Tigers daft.
  15. How many Tigers' fans were unhappy though when Ian Steele was sacked after a debatable decision at Berwick in a move that was seen as Stewart getting the job he wanted. I for one didn't like it but in fairness to Stewart he has become one of the finest tactician around (as the Anders Rowe maneuver shows)
  16. The prize for the "most photographed speedway manager" is surely ours?
  17. I think the fact Ashfield is being used for the GP Challenge is a fair indication of the standard of the track (and stadium facilities too)
  18. And bring their current team average down again to 42 pts from the 43.26 they currently are? They can replace Rowe with a rider up to the same average but if they change two they go back to the original 42pt building limit. Can't see where they will get two riders from to improve what they have.
  19. Can't see Oxford or Scunthorpe pulling off a top six and I think Edinburgh have the easier fixtures left. But if all the Bandits start pulling together on the same night they could prove me wrong.
  20. His average is 3.95 so will be interesting to see who Leicester come up with as a replacement. Will it be a new name or someone who obviously slipped under the Diamonds' radar for one reason or another?
