10.6.22 - Scunny v Glasgow, League
cinderfella replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Basso is still seeing and riding some tracks for the first time so I reckon he is doing OK. The 'old guard' need a wee kick up the rear end and a manager who does what is really required should be a priority. Too many mistakes have let points get away. -

Should we have heard alarm bells when Wolves didn't resign him? -
Which were please?

It's interesting that on the latest averages released yesterday that Claus Vissing is the only No1 with an average lower BWD. All 3 of Poole's HLs have higher averages and as it stand there 11 riders not available to guest as their averages are too high.

Real shocker is Bomber isn't one of the guests

Birmingham v Edinburgh 08/06/22

I'll get abuse for this but it begs the question that really needs asking: " Do we need a couple of teams to fold and perhaps go to one league (and the NDL) to have enough riders?" or do we cut teams to say 6 with 2 H/Ls, 2 S/Ss and 2 reserves one of whom must be from the NDL. Whatever the solution is action needs taken now or the sport as we know it will die within the next decade. -
If that is the case I hope the Promotion take legal action to recover any sign-on fees, travel costs etc. Last year after he attempted to ride as Ashfield in the GP Qualifier he was "available" to any British club but reportedly made demands up there with GP Class riders. Think he should realise, with respect to other current Kiwi riders who we've seen the class of, the NZ Championship is of Disney standard compared to the past with legends like Moore, Brigg and Mauger.

He is if you only include loyal British riders racing in their home country. -

You won't finish bottom courtesy of that away win at Oxford -
Are you sure you're not the Press Officer Steve? You give out more info than the official website lol

You would have thought since he is actually a Belle Vue asset, protected signing or whatever it's called this week, they would have been giving him some time with the Colts. But obviously the fact he is Australian is going against him there. -
Can bet the only team he won't have guested for will be The Bandits lol
-
And ALEGEDLY Plymouth did the same with Kennett
-
On paper he may be but evidence from various meetings suggests otherwise. OK maybe you having limited time for preparation hinders track work but other tracks have the same problem but manage to prepare a surface fit for racing.

Aye and John Campbell even got the stream. Better than a photobomb lol -
Finding someone is the BIG problem. It's either going to be a big money name or a gamble on an unknown who maybe isn't considered good enough to be wanted elsewhere. On the positive side, signing Jack Smith may mean his dad giving a discount on team race suits next season IF there is to be a next season

In the 3 scheduled matches last night there were 6 guests and 2 r/r in place. The sport loses credibility with every turn of a wheel. Changes need making -

Yip Brennan, Howarth, Lawson, Sedgeman and of course Bomber must be making as much from guesting as they do riding for their own teams. As I suggested elsewhere maybe it's time to limit riders to only guesting once for each team or at each track during a season? -

This will be Sedgeman's 3rd appearance (for 3 different teams and none them his own) in the last 3 (CL level) meetings at Ashfield. Guests are now beyond a joke especially since certain teams don't seem to give a monkey's about finding their own replacements -

Well that is the time given on the British Speedway website. But since there is no mention as yet on the host team's website who knows?
