I think there were several hints on the Monarchs' Facebook page I picked up on 1 He was not featured as were previous winners in the preceeding days. 2 There were only 15 riders in the photograph of participants in a Sat morning post. 3 A later photograph included Craig but it was a b&w photo while all other riders photographs were in colour. Coincidence or am I just being sceptical?

There's a simple solution to that - move Mr Brown from the manager's position to that of publicity officer. He seems to like (self) publicity.

Jubilee championship league
cinderfella replied to westlakejawa's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
IF the final(s) are abandoned will Glasgow, Leicester and Poole be fined for not completing their fixtures? Nothing would surprise me in British Speedway any more. This has been another season of embarrassment with a team running 99% without their signed No1, another signing a British Champion knowing he wouldn't be there for long, a team dropping out, a team signing a GP rider for 3 meeting in the quest for silverware and who know what other own goals? -
Not is BSPA getbtheir finger out and decide what, if anything, is going to happen with the Jubilee three team final. Probably another project binned due to lack of time despite many teams having had several weeks of inactivity.

Sorry can't agree when over 90% of the riders also race in the so called lower league. Look at Peterborough last season when their top averaged rider (MPT) was only 4th in the averages at his CL team Redcar. The whole thing is a joke and and I'm afraid there is nothing but snobbery involved if any PL fan claims their league is better.

Hear hear. I mean what's in a title? Let's face is the Premier League (and Elite League before it) have been getting away with claims of being the best for years. Trade Descriptions Act obviously doesn't apply to speedway

We would have been as well with an NDL guest last night - at least he would have been comfortable using his own equipment.

I don't think Glasgow would have any problems attracting riders if they did move up. For a start Anders Thomson is a Tigers' asset and several overseas riders who have rode at Ashfield have stated their liking for the track and facilities. I think the biggest obstacle would be the race night(s). Glasgow fans are set in their ways with traditional Friday evenings and, personally, I can't see week nights having the same attraction for families for several months of the season. Think there are some internal issues to be sorted first though.

Hope Brown is a non-starter too

Belle Vue v Ipswich Play off semi 2nd leg 3 Oct
cinderfella replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why I wonder did Dan Bewley not sign for BV? -
Sorry my mistake
-
And with Scott Courtney there that may not be far off the mark.
-
Yes but that's why I said 'CL' as it is now and since 'doubling up/down' has been introduced.
-
That would be funny if it wasn't true and we'll probably lose Edinburgh at least next season too. Think the sooner the PL and CL amalgamate the sooner British Speedway has a chance if surviving
-
If Bomber stays with Berwick, and I hope he does, it will be the first time he has returned to do two consecutive seasons with a CL team
-
Going by Bomber's Instagram post I think it's actually a contrack for Longtrack he has signed. Could be bad news for Sat night track depending on travel arrangements etc
-
Er do you fancy giving The Tigers their pre-meeting pep talk on Saturday. You seem to have spurred on Craig and Tom tonight lol
-
It's funny how we always hear about how the opposition will get a good hammering when all 7 riders click together at the one time but never hear about what happens when all 7 have an off night together? Thank goodness some of The Pirates didn't click last night.

I'm surprised no one has mounted a legal challenge under the Trade Description Act lol

There is an obvious replacement in house - unless his commitments elsewhere are preventing him taking on the job. The gentleman I am talking about know the rule book and tactic inside out. He'll he can even tell you the gate positions for every heat, column A or B. Cut Michael Max and he'd bleed Glasgow Tigers.
-
Yeah he has surely been photographed at every track by now so must be time for another pursuit
