I`m biased i suppose but to me the main ingredients to a big event like this are:
a good racing track: when properly prepared, smallmead is a very good racing track.
Spectator Spectator facilities: Not A1 at Reading but with a little investment it would be fine. Viewing at Reading is excellant, pretty high banking on the terrace means a good view for all. The back straight stand would not take much to knock down and the straight re-opened.
Accessability: 2 mins from junction 11 of the m4, fantastic.
The concerns over the air fence is irrelevant, BSI must own there own fence, where do you think the cardiff one comes from ?
The pit area is large enough to handle it, albeit with a few Gazeebo`s stuck up.
It wont happen anyway, just dreaming, but ihope it`s not at swindon ! rubbish track and poor veiwing. Peterborough, Poor racing surface. Poole, too far south to travel for any northern fans. Coventry, used to be good but not now the track has changed.
Oxford, track too small, poor racing.
