  1. I'm just going by what one of our riders has posted elsewhere. It means a lot for these guys to win, they have superb team spirit, and I am sure it will be a lift to Alex to hear that they pulled it back. Anyway, I'm not going to get dragged into this nonsense.
  2. Brilliant news, it is the most awful crash I have seen yet. Here's wishing Alex a speedy recovery, he's already become a star of the Bandits. I don't think the score is irrelevant, especially to the riders who clearly went out to win the match for Alex, and did, with some guts and style.
  3. Firstly, brilliant news for speedway. Secondly, what an atrocious release from the BSPA it has a feel of two kids falling out in the playground. This situation has been cringe-worthy and, I fear, will have a longer effect on Elite League Speedway than we would like to think.
  4. Great turnout, for a great cause, and superb to see Adrian looking fit and well. But, ended up leaving early - like a lot of folk - a freezing night, "racing" started 20 minutes later than billed, and it dragged on and on and on and on with umpteen breaks including some bizarre waste of time with Paul Cooper doing some laps in a hoodie... it was all just too slow. Good to see lots of away fans - including the gentleman Shadders - coming along to support Adrian, and wish Adrian all the best for the future. Was good to see the Mighty Makovsky back on track again.
  5. Great opportunity for the youngsters. Looking forward to a fiver well spent.
  6. Does anyone know a good pub in Brighton that will show the World Cup meeting on Saturday?
  7. Awful luck for Lee and the Club, but an excellent replacement to make up a really exciting lineup. Should be the night that the Mighty Makovsky so thoroughly deserves.
  8. Aye, he is a character that will be missed once he retires. I'll never forget him turning round telling us all to "fook off" after putting it down in front of us. Then coming out and winning his next heat. Tootling past us flicking the v's = excellent!
  9. Was indeed Stoney. The handicap format made for lots of passing in most heats, worked well. BTW the 3rd bend faithful got a farewell thumbs-up from Stoney when he won his heat last week. No prongs this time
  10. Was indeed Stoney. He looked as if he was hanging on for dear life. It was one hell of a ride!
  11. What an absolutely sensational way to end the season. Brilliant meeting, track record smashed by Bomber who looked as if he was hanging on for dear life at times. Great performance from Complin - he is top on my wish list at the moment Michal finished on a high. Clews, very unlucky not to make the run-off. Kerr with a good solid performance. Barker impressive at the start, but faded a little. Stan finished very strongly. Very well presented meeting, and the handicap format worked very well I thought. Roll on next year
  12. What a cracking line-up. Bomber Harris as the favourite, but look at the racers that are there: Michal Makovsky - all time top scoring Bandit. Stan Burza - has been in cracking form at Shielfield, coming close to the track record on a number of occasions. Jac Rempala - can beat the best on his day...oops, I mean on his heat...weird. Paul Clews - the legend, entertainment guaranteed. Ben Wilson - showed on Saturday just how quick he is when he gates. If he makes the gate, look at the racers who will be hunting him down! Chris Schramm - another all entertainment rider that us Bandits fans know and adore. Lee Complin - a season at Berwick would see him fulfil his potential. He was a brilliant guest on Saturday. Another total entertainer. Ben Barker - sensational guest for us, very fast out front, and also did it from the back. Tai Woffinden - cracking young talent with a real hunger for the win. Was untouchable on his last visit to Shielfield. Thomas H Jonasson - loves our track, another real new talent who is a joy to watch, although the Edinburgh fans don't have much experience of that... This is going to be an absolute belter. A nice touch by the promotion to keep the prices as per normal, they clearly have the fans' interests ahead of their pockets. Would be a good meeting to bring someone new to the sport along to I think.
  13. Those of us that have the pleasure of knowing WJM's faither, will know that this most certainly is not a wind-up.
  14. Wow! Some line-up; hope I will be home that Saturday. Are you sure it is correct? YamYam usually announces official stuff Bomber round the immaculate Shielfield - track record? I'm sure there will be plenty others on the night who will have something to say about it!
  15. Ahh yes. Wonders will never cease, Dekker actually typed something worth reading.
  16. Thought this event was a credit to British Speedway. Was not impressed with Gollob in final heat though
  17. I think everyone is turning up to see it in person judging by the crowds!
  18. This is the real shame. My memories of Ole Olsen as a quality rider have almost been wiped-out by his buffoonery throughout his involvement with the GPs. Real shame when a legend becomes a bellend.
  19. I agree that Smith's is over-rated; but, the last chippy I had from Foulis's with Neil's Mum and Dad, none of us could even half finish it. It was disgusting. Worst chippy I have ever had by a long shot!
  20. And it is noticable that as more and more people meet each other in the flesh, the threads become much friendlier. Often what is intended as banter can be taken the wrong way when only posted in a forum, when the posters know nothing of each other apart from what is posted here. Everyone who I have met - without exception - are very friendly and likeable folk. Even the recalcitrant Subedei
