  1. Alex will score well this weekend, and last week will be forgotten about. The whole team does really need to pull out all the stops this weekend, and I'm sure they will.
  2. It doesn't mean that it is fact. Nonetheless, why feel compelled to post it on a forum, especially when it is potentially a confidential matter. It doesn't make you look any more important than you are. Even though that would not take much.
  3. Do you think Dennis knows what he is doing: from a speedway point of view? Just asking, and giving one example. I'd be interested in your opinion.
  4. I can't believe Alex is getting questioned, after one bad home meeting. He's taken some decent scalps this season already, not bad for his first few meetings back from injury. Riders should expect a bit of critical encouragement if they are having a bad one, that is the nature of being a sportsman. However, they shouldn't expect abuse. I didn't hear any, but it seems clear it occurred in some areas. My goodness, there is some crap on here mind. Taffy back trying to increase his appendage, I see.. You did say clock, didn't you?
  5. Big relief, it looked a bad one. Spot on about the medics too.
  6. I actually almost agree with you. I find it amazing that he is bike on a bike after his big crash. Balls the size of a planet, or rather 2 planets.
  7. I would say that is a pretty accurate precis. The tone of his posts has changed markedly from the pre-season optimism. He looked either scared or disinterested last night. Firstly, that is not good from his personal safety point of view. Secondly, that sort of performance will drive everyone bar the die-hards away in an instant. Aspergren's performance was drawing huge criticism from even the most optimistic fans. Tootling around is one thing we will all agree that nobody will be happy paying for. Even worse to go home to watch a sensational GP. I'm being critical now, because I think it is warranted, and the number of home supporters last night was very worrying. I want speedway at Berwick next season. I asked Cook what he was concerned about when he was on track. Very decent of him, he came across and said the track was patchy as .... But, people have been shouting out for dirt, we got it, and I guess it will take time for everything to bind together. I'm sure the guys behind the scenes will have found Saturday to be very revealing. We have a very two-tone type of team. On a positive note, Bellegeo, Kozza, and Matty were excellent, and saved the night from an entertainment point of view. Barrett clearly didn't fancy the track early on, but had the attitude to figure it out thereafter, so does deserve credit. There you go Robin and Wee Emily, I am not a brown-noser, I just don't have a constant chip on my shoulder like some on here.
  8. Bellegeo was superb for us, Kozza is getting back to form, Matty nice and solid. Cook and Vissing = different class. Cook took the time to explain why he was looking at the track to the 3rd bend guys. Good on him, very gentlemanly in his reply, Better racing, but a few concerns in the team,
  9. I'd agree too. Good guests for Ricky until he is fit would do me fine. Hopefully see him back in a week or two. He will get back to form very quickly, I'm sure of that.
  10. That's fair enough, not idea, but not a disaster: if we do go out, which is not by any means certain. What would be your alternative at this point? A short term replacement maybe?
  11. Very tough now Millen. Ricky has had a rotten load of luck at the end of last season and the start of this one. His luck will change and he'll be hard to beat. Better to wait for him to fully recover and have him at 100%.
  12. Speedway fans, platform independent Just another part of what is killing the sport, I'll start sounding like a broken record
  13. What a great idea. Interesting to see one of them on here is incapable of posting his own thoughts now. Scared or stupid? Or both?
  14. If it has at the end of the season, then you will have a valid point, however, I don't think it is valid at the moment. Speculation at this time.
  15. I liked your idea last weekend about taking some of the banking off bends 3 and 4 so that riders have to slow down coming into it. Not many decent riders shut off coming into that 3rd bend right enough. I don't know much about all this track stuff - as I openly admit - but that sounds very logical to me.
  16. We also have to remember he is coming back from injury and had a tonne of gremlins, along with a big spill at Glasgow. The best bet of the lot is that he will be back to form soon, and will be hard to beat at most places. Incredible some of the things you read on here
  17. This is great news, and well-deserved for everyone involved at Berwick Speedway. Clearly what has been happening at the club over the last few years is very highly thought of: and very highly respected. Well done, I'll be there!
  18. To me a boot up the backside was more what was required rather than track prep. last night. We looked as if we thought we had it won before turning a whee. Redcar were much hungrier through the first 2 bends. We all saw how hard it was after that point. I think Matty Wethers should be singled-out for his tremendous battling though. His hard won points have kept us in the tie.
  19. Undoubtedly, but there is a certain culture within the fans that needs to change. We don't need to become all happy clappy, but we do need to have at least some sort of positive change. I really think that a section in the programme where the riders rate the track each with, and give their reasons would be a good addition. It would either take some of the frustration away - if the riders think the same - or give the fans a bit more of an informed opinion. I remember before the mid-week Plymouth meeting last year thinking it was going to be a disaster. Turned out to be meeting of the year.
