  1. Not the ones I know, they wouldn't dream of it. So, what was your initial point then? Whit a haver.
  2. I can actually think of several Taffy. Quite a few farmers go on a Saturday.
  3. I watched my 2005 season review DVD last night. There was loads of passing then. Has the track shape changed? One thing I did notice was a Hell of a lot of bumps in those days. No idea how they stayed on!
  4. Although, for once, I have to agree with everyone who said that the track was awful. No matter how hard our guys tried when beaten out of the gate, there was no way back, same for the opposition. Fortunately we were mostly sharp and at least got a good win. The product on track really does need to change. Some familiar faces were missing tonight, and that is worrying.
  5. Going to be a beautiful night for speedway. I'm even thinking about putting the shorts on. This could be a potentially tough meeting: if Hall, Wells, and Stead are on form. I think Doolan is a very good guest for us. He seems to be getting back to his old self and is solid around Shielfield. Looking forward to a good meeting.
  6. Looks like we made a decent start to the meeting, with the Monarchs finishing off strongly, as expected. Not many teams will get into the 40s at Armadale this year against a very strong Edinburgh team. Splendid post!
  7. Alex will score well this weekend, and last week will be forgotten about. The whole team does really need to pull out all the stops this weekend, and I'm sure they will.
  8. It doesn't mean that it is fact. Nonetheless, why feel compelled to post it on a forum, especially when it is potentially a confidential matter. It doesn't make you look any more important than you are. Even though that would not take much.
  9. Do you think Dennis knows what he is doing: from a speedway point of view? Just asking, and giving one example. I'd be interested in your opinion.
  10. I can't believe Alex is getting questioned, after one bad home meeting. He's taken some decent scalps this season already, not bad for his first few meetings back from injury. Riders should expect a bit of critical encouragement if they are having a bad one, that is the nature of being a sportsman. However, they shouldn't expect abuse. I didn't hear any, but it seems clear it occurred in some areas. My goodness, there is some crap on here mind. Taffy back trying to increase his appendage, I see.. You did say clock, didn't you?
  11. Big relief, it looked a bad one. Spot on about the medics too.
  12. I actually almost agree with you. I find it amazing that he is bike on a bike after his big crash. Balls the size of a planet, or rather 2 planets.
  13. I would say that is a pretty accurate precis. The tone of his posts has changed markedly from the pre-season optimism. He looked either scared or disinterested last night. Firstly, that is not good from his personal safety point of view. Secondly, that sort of performance will drive everyone bar the die-hards away in an instant. Aspergren's performance was drawing huge criticism from even the most optimistic fans. Tootling around is one thing we will all agree that nobody will be happy paying for. Even worse to go home to watch a sensational GP. I'm being critical now, because I think it is warranted, and the number of home supporters last night was very worrying. I want speedway at Berwick next season. I asked Cook what he was concerned about when he was on track. Very decent of him, he came across and said the track was patchy as .... But, people have been shouting out for dirt, we got it, and I guess it will take time for everything to bind together. I'm sure the guys behind the scenes will have found Saturday to be very revealing. We have a very two-tone type of team. On a positive note, Bellegeo, Kozza, and Matty were excellent, and saved the night from an entertainment point of view. Barrett clearly didn't fancy the track early on, but had the attitude to figure it out thereafter, so does deserve credit. There you go Robin and Wee Emily, I am not a brown-noser, I just don't have a constant chip on my shoulder like some on here.
  14. Bellegeo was superb for us, Kozza is getting back to form, Matty nice and solid. Cook and Vissing = different class. Cook took the time to explain why he was looking at the track to the 3rd bend guys. Good on him, very gentlemanly in his reply, Better racing, but a few concerns in the team,
  15. I'd agree too. Good guests for Ricky until he is fit would do me fine. Hopefully see him back in a week or two. He will get back to form very quickly, I'm sure of that.
  16. That's fair enough, not idea, but not a disaster: if we do go out, which is not by any means certain. What would be your alternative at this point? A short term replacement maybe?
