  1. I really don't know, but I guess foam fence, equipment, bonds? I suppose rider contracts will have a value?
  2. I guess when selling a going concern, the sellers will have a price at which it is not worth selling as such, then it becomes more effective to dispose of assets. That often can avoided where there is a decent amount of goodwill in place, though.
  3. Personally, I'm tired of all the bickering and sniping in speedway. That alone over the past few years has gradually turned me off the sport. It'll take something exciting to spark my passion for the sport again. Hopefully that will happen.
  4. I can remember great times under Peter's stewardship, I can also remember some pretty grim times too. Some of what he said makes sense, some of it was a bit below the belt. Controversial, that's for sure.
  5. On the 3rd bend we had the perfect vide of Cook's move in heat 13. Almost no space to work with, threw his back wheen against the fence and took off. It's the most sensational move I think I have ever seen. It was an incredible dull meeting up to that point. So, one needs to give Cook the credit he deserves. He was worth the admission alone. No booing on the 3rd bend, lots of applause and recognition for what was a superb bit of speedway. Got to show appreciation for Doolan in heat 15 too. Great ride to beat a rider who looked unbeatable, and kept the score a bit more respectable.
  6. Scintillating stuff Shadders. And you have a cheek to describe Berwick as boring
  7. Fortunately I was on my travels and missed the most recent humping! In the past I lived in our fine Capital City
  8. I just enjoyed it, had a good night out watching some bikes belt around a speedway track. Could have done with a better result in heat 15 right enough. Would have like to have seen a few more rides from an on fire Liam Carr too.
  9. Must have been at a different meeting to me. It was great. I'd describe it as a fast an furious meeting. Kennett in heat 15 was superb, and has probably made the difference to who goes through. All top notch.
  10. Great meeting, Rockets turned up for the fight, but we were able to come away with maybe enough points, maybe not. Another excellent Saturday night's entertainment
  11. Need to follow Berwick's lead. No point having all that investment, but not being able to get any speedway on!
  12. Great work with the covers again. Also, the extra ambulance and medical cover made for minimal disruption despite some bad spills. Once again, the fence has surely saved some nasty injuries. Some competitive racing, thanks to an away team that turned up! Holder and Barker good value, in particular. TJ is flying at the moment, and Liam looking strong again. If we can find a suitable replacement for Seb, we are going to end up with a decent league position: maybe more!
  13. I'm sure Kelvin Tatum has been know to say that Shielfield scares the living daylights out of some riders. Certainly looked like that on Monday!
  14. If they think speedway at Berwick is predictable, then they want to take a look at their posts! Perfectly entertaining meeting in the flesh, and that is what speedway is all about. I thought there was a great atmosphere tonight, and a very good crowd, especially considering the Euro match was on. It seems that Berwick fans really appreciate Sky coming and always provide a great turnout, everyone did the club proud once again. And..what a thumping!
  15. It was very noticeable that the riders were using every inch of the track on Saturday night. To my untrained eye, it looked like perfection.
  16. Nigel and Kelvin expressed very eloquently why Sky keep coming back, when they did their Supporters' Club function in the winter. If you weren't there, then get along the next time and find out!
  17. He's in great form, excellent seeing how much he has developed this season, seems to have found a real aggression on track
  18. I guess i will depend on whether there is anyone suitable who is able/willing to come?
  19. A spot on post, as always, from Topsoil. Gappmaier looks to be another good signing, quite tenacious. Highlight for me was the form Liam Carr is showing. He's really moved up a notch this year. Sargeant rode him pretty hard in heat 8, but Liam wasn't having any of it and comfortably held on to his paid win. We were just too good tonight, and there were some entertaining heats as Topsoil points out. Barker was very disappointing, he looks all but finished as a rider
  20. Also predominantly amateur? If you go back to a certain point?
  21. Looks a decent signing, good to see the management moving quickly again when faced with adversity.
  22. A bit narcissistic of you to assume my post was referring to you?
  23. I don't see the problem. It makes the lad feel good, so why not? It is a forum after all.
