Not quite sure they are Berwick supporters. People started switching them to ignore on here, looks like they've moved elsewhere for their "fun". You're welcome to them!
-
Agree.
-
I don't think he will be in that mindset. I think he'll be looking to that the opposition on. There are plenty of other reserves that he will back himself against, I'm sure. I've never seen him pleading poverty either, only Taffy saying he needs some new equipment, which is a fair enough comment. A lot of more experienced riders will be in the same position. I also completely agree that it is not very often we get a young local lad getting a chance and he is deserving of that bit of extra support because of this.

Could be entertaining, imagine the opposition trying to split the pairing. The mind boggles.
-
You mean like, give each other backies?
-
And what happens if there is a muckle smash and some of the bikes get all buckled?
-
I knew he was an asset, I was meaning I'm glad we have him riding for us next season, and also glad we signed him as an asset. Although, I'm not sure what being an asset really means in the speedway world!
-
I think it's great we are giving a young Brit a go who will clearly develop. I'm glad we signed him, as he would certainly have been snapped up by a rival team if we hadn't.
-
Thanks for that, I though you mentioned that you were at some of the meetings. I think you are right, he should have a strong other reserve with him throughout the season. If he rides to his average, then he will have done his job. I bet he will up it, though.
-
His results for Edinburgh at the end of the season looked good. I know you sometimes go along, did you see him ride? If so, how did he look? Seems to have improved a lot and looking forward to seeing the lad at Berwick again.
-
Frivolous post there, he was answering a question.
-
I heard that too from guys who were there. He came to us just at a time when he seemed to lose a bit of confidence too. Good signing for the Rockets.
-
He was well-respected by all with his time at Berwick. Did a decent job for us. Not strong round Shielfield, but some big scores away from home. Was a good temporary signing.
-
Yep, and I would be it is the same ones that desperately need something to moan about in their little lives. I must say, the ignore feature on here is a boon! Can't wait for the season to start!
-
Full of skelfs! I thoroughly respect your appraisal of Mr Barrie. Bellego, I can't quite make my mind up. He'll be good to watch, that's for sure.

I'm not going to disagree with you on that one. I'm also not saying that Dick is splendid, or garbage, that is all down to personal opinion. Furthermore, I also agree that one does not need to be an expert to appraise the quality of a particular skill. What I was pointing out is that the cheapest place of them all for cheap shots is on an Internet forum. Now, a couple of years back, I fired my fingers off a bit too quickly about a certain announcer. It led to an apology from me. We need to remember that if we keep sniping away at all the folk who keep the sport running - no matter what we think of them - then we will lose the sport. There's no need to be happy-clappy, just a bit of common sense. Let's not kick the sport when it is well and truly down; one of these times it might just not get back up.

Now here is an idea to put to the Promotion as an extra bit of entertainment, and fan involvement. Have an open mic night: but not in the musical sense. Invite the armchair experts to have a go as centre green announcer. Maybe make it one meeting and give each person a 15 minute slot. It could be good fun. I know folk who would do it, I would bet the ones on here critical of Dick, wouldn't though. It takes baws to do that, but it takes nothing to hide behind a computer and criticise. They should at least be offered the chance to show their fantastic expertise, though.

Peterborough Panthers 2014
bigeddiechek replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have to admit I originally thought the idea behind the EL format was bonkers. It might just work, though, and if it does it will hopefully bring some Brits through at an accelerated pace. If not, it could spell the end of EL. PL looks strong as ever, and personally I think it has been a very strong product for a good few seasons now. -
You've lost me with that one. Did I miss something?
-
Exactly, I hope Edberg is one of them. A bit more luck and he'll be a decent reserve at the very least. I have massive admiration for him getting back on a bike after his horrendous crash at Shielfield.
-
All the best to them, I'll be glad to see them riding.

Schramm could be much higher. He's not really a 3.5 rider. -

Very excited having the Panthers in the PL (especially as it looked as if speedway might be lost). Great city, and a track to rival Shielfield. I shall endeavour to take a trip down! -
You shouldn't have been greetin' to me when the credit crunch hit then. It must have been all your fault! Of course luck plays a part: it is ludicrous to say it doesn't in a sport that is so high risk, with such fine margins, and so many uncontrollable variables.
