  1. Erm, yes, and if you did understand the post you would see that that is what I am saying and is the fulcrum of the illustration. It explains exactly how recent form can pick up, yet an average can fall.
  2. Good job I'm better at maths than my programme marking right enough, not hard mind! Does it not make sense because it is incorrect, or because you don't understand it?
  3. Jim, read this again, it does make sense, honest!
  4. Forecast looks perfect now, prediction of light showers has gone. The meeting needs to run tonight so will be on, I guess, but can't see anything other than perfect conditions anyway. I think the revised lineup is much stronger too. Bridger will get in there and mix things up!!!!
  5. Confirmed in the Berwick Newsletter, Bridger and Lawson in for Kroner and the other guy. In my opinion, that strengthens the lineup.
  6. Come on this is a forum it is for people to express their views and opinions, surely?
  7. Completely agree, it was pretty obvious that there was going to be no chance of the meeting going ahead. To me it seemed like the FIM were hell-bent on getting this on due to a lack of contingency planning. Really I guess it is not fair to knock the sport when the dreaded rain gods decide to chuck everything at our tracks. There was a monumental effort from the track staff last night, but the poor guys were always fighting a losing battle. I doubt there is an answer other than the fantasy of all indoor tracks!!!
  8. I can understand the frustration of last night, but really there was nothing to be done with the weather we had. Although I do agree that the FIM strung it out much longer than needed. What I can't believe is folk saying that we shouldn't bother with this type of meeting. For once I am totally and utterly lost for words!
  9. Certainly last night not being pulled at an earlier point was entirely an FIM decision. As for the re-staging? Well they know the situation with Berwick's planning, so how can anyone put the blame on Berwick? The FIM should be clear about that, and should have known exactly when they were able to re-stage. I think they got their knickers in a twist last night. As for Dick saying all the riders want to ride, maybe that is what he was told? I very much doubt anyone focused on the event were anywhere near their twitter account. Hans Anderson is very much a has-been, his lack of professional focus undoubtedly a contributing factor...
  10. How much bad luck can Berwick have with these meetings and the weather? An incredible effort put in by all the staff well-rewarded with a big show of appreciation from the crowd. I thought Dick Barrie did a very good job out in the rain keeping everyone informed, I get the feeling everyone was stuck between a rock and a hard place tonight. Glad common sense prevailed as the FIM guys seemed hell-bent on racing which would have short-changed the fans. Got something to look forward to on Monday night for a change, just feel for fans that can't make the meeting, bloody rain
  11. Think I must have been looking at the wrong location! Or your Garry Glitter style leather pouch?
  12. Weather forecast looks good to me, or am I missing something here?
  13. I guess Sunday and Monday should give us an indication. Certainly a strong rider to have at reserve!
  14. Fair enough, but Kus has taken care of Ritchie Worrall, Rohan Tungate, Simon Stead, Leigh Lanham and Ludvig Lindgren too. Maybe that is just my glass half full thinking...
  15. Having Kus at reserve is not a bad position, looks like Steen will not be out of place moving up. I definitely prefer the strngth in depth team building. Incidentally, did you see the photo of Josh Grazonek in the newsletter? Very painful looking!
  16. Good signing for the Tiggers, Henry is a good solid rider.
  17. For those who don't receive the newsletter, I shall quote. "Thomas was most-recently seen in the UK as a Redcar Bear, for whom he rode in 2006 and again in 2010. If he is able to commit to a British club again, Suchanek might well prove an interesting signing for -- some club." I guess I'm reading more into it than was actually there.
  18. Read the post a bit more carefully, SCB, I expect better than this from you.
  19. The quote was his scores are picking up, and - if you look at my example - not necessarily.
  20. I think Sarah made the original point that his scores were improving recently, no reference to his average. May I refer you to the following post: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=76616&p=2458609
  21. Here's an illustration (I'm not sure how many drop off, or how many come in, but it should explain the point): 4 scores drop off of 8, 7, 7, 6 = 28 Scores in the middle are not as good Form starts to pick up 4 latest scores come in of 6, 6, 7, 8 = 27 So, recent results are improving (based on everything in between), but the rolling average would still drop. It's the sum of the set of scores that are crucial. Another way to think of it. Plot the scores on a bar chart. If the scores are a smiley shape with a slight grin to the left, then the rolling average will decrease; if it has a grin to the right, it will increase. Sunday morning!
  22. I agree, it's a real team effort and the formula is spot on. There's nobody that looks out of place in the lineup, and everyone doing the business at critical points in the meetings.
