  1. I've just been told "offline" that you did indeed completely misinterpret my post
  2. I was also thinking that the scores we are knocking in as title contenders will make a difference. This team could be a 60 pointer by the time it is all finished.
  3. Christ! Live music is even getting bashed now! I suppose Garry Glitter was in attendance, Taffy Rumour has it Family Guy was sighted too...
  4. Thanks for that, I was wondering if that would be the case. I think having the same team (providing it is a decent one) would be a great benefit for newer fans. Gives a better chance to get to know the riders. Plus, I want them all back!
  5. Absolutely, great looking team. I wonder with the rolling averages if we will be able to maintain the same lineup for next season. I don't think many would be against that! I met Matej briefly before Ipswich, really nice lad, and he came across a thoroughly professional which is clearly the case from his performances. I was going to take a bit of convincing at the start of the season, but didn't take long to COMPLETELY convince me. I don't like to compare, but he could he fill the void that was created when Rymel retired?
  6. I think there were a few who questioned his signing. I openly admit I was unsure. Equally I am delighted to be proven utterly wrong, and to say you were absolutely spot on about him making a mockery of his starting average. Doolan has answered the questions too. It's always a sign of a true competitor(s) who can raise their game under pressure. This is probably the most enjoyable season I can remember since being able to return regularly at the turn of the millennium. Long may it last! I think you will struggle to find a team that has consistency throughout the full season. Riders drift in and out of form. Thus fans' opinions to follow!
  7. It's just an observation that a lot of folk are making that you seem to be desperate to get the knives out at any opportunity, the flags and tractors, Vissing riding in Denmark (even though an official release was made days earlier), most people knew that Berge wasn't available this weekend, but yes he would have been a good guest. You've still not answered neil's point about the comparison with football teams announcement of starting line-ups...
  8. I would say Matej is irreplaceable the form he is in, weakens us quite considerably, and that is no disrespect to the other riders. I agree with Screm he is riding like a number 1, and a strong one at that.
  9. Yep, I think everything is fine in that department too. Old Billy is showing his age, like the rest of us!
  10. Thanks, and probably a few others too. Keep the good work up son! I loved your post about Berge. Another Screm classic! You should stick to your tried and tested method of plagiarising other folks' material. It ensures accuracy. Hmmm, having said that, it's not as entertaining! Anyway, back to topic. We've got as strong a pair of guests that I think were available. It's going to be a tough one against a Somerset team on form. Crucial that we take all the points if we are aiming for a top 2 spot.
  11. Yep, I think the poster comments are fair enough. I'm sure it is something that will have been listened to. What about the tractors and the flags then? I can admit when I wrong, can others on here?
  12. Thank you, just the reply I was hoping for Set the right bait, and entertainment will follow! A few of us on here stand round the 3rd bend, come and say hello and enjoy one of the best views in speedway!
  13. Has it not occurred that the New Holland flags are perhaps items that they use at things like trade shows, showrooms, etc., and are not available on a weekly basis? The sponsor would likely have provided the tractors from stock as well, to maximise their sponsorship. Again they would not be available on a weekly basis. The poster is a fair point, but there is a cost implication there: they are high quality print which does not come cheap. I would expect there to be a bit of attention to this point though, and options explored. So I will conceded that point is valid, I stand by the other two points being a bit dim. It wouldn't have taken much thought to work those ones out.
  14. Nah, your problems are you under-performing prima donna nut case.
  15. I think Cook has reached his level, doesn't have the temperament to go any further, and is on a downward slope. I just can't see him progressing, he's not got the right attitude. Somerset starting to look like the biggest threat to a Bandits' first ever league win?
  16. Come on Screm, if you are going to criticise, you at the very least need to make sure you are credible, otherwise you just make it look like you have the knives at the ready all the time. Don't do yourself any favours at times, mate.
  17. Kus was still one of the better riders that night, he was mostly competitive. I agree with Screm, having watched his outstanding performance at Redcar, and two great home meetings we ahve a number 7 riding like a number 1. I never saw that coming when the team was signed, but I very happy that I am seeing it now!!! I shall repeat what I said earlier, guys who ride motorsports a lot were enthralled by the techniques of the riders. They never gave the track a single thought, enjoyed the passing, but most of all just loved the spectacle of these guys flying round with no brakes! So, some tire of that, thirty odd years later and I still never tire of it. I really don't like Armadale or Brough Park, but I'd still rather watch speedway there than a lot of more prominent sports. The track argument really shows how fans of the sport really don't help it along one bit. There seems to be a mentality of knocking it whenever there is the slightest opportunity: good stuff lads, keep it going and you'll eventually kill it off. We even have a "Berwick fan" trying to make churlish comments about extra flags, different tractors, and posters being put together. I actually couldn't believe I was reading that, I mean that really is a rather dim post... Still, several folk are going to come again this season, so they are folk to focus on!
  18. I think you must have missed the bit about the guys who were really looking at the riding...
  19. Absolutely superb news about Matty and Aaron. It's one of the worst crashes that I have seen, I was shaking after seeing Matty go over the fence. I've now lost count of the number of times the safety fence has taken a large part of the impact. It shows the fine line between a breath-taking pass and a stomach-churning crash. On the never ending track shouting from Edinburgh, I always feel races are over before they have started as the track is so small. I always feel that invariably the passes are made as a result of rider mistakes rather than actual racing. The passes last night were high speed and hard earned, much more my cup of tea. Having said that about small tracks, shape is obviously a factor too, as I always find Redcar to produce excellent racing. A couple of us had around 30 newcomers last night, maybe a couple will become regulars, most will come back again on occasion, everyone enjoyed it. Interestingly, a lot of them were fascinated by the way the riders moved their body positions on the bikes. Never mentioned the track or passing. It maybe shows how unhealthy an obsession certain fans have about tracks and passing?
