  1. The point was he started to hit form in the meeting against Ipswich (if I remember correctly). He has now progressed to heat leader, and once again gets a vital point in heat 15. It was merely an observation of the season Matej has had. Quite an unusual line he took as well, but very effective!
  2. Matej Kus once again getting a vital 3rd in heat 15. Did it from reserve early in the season, now from his new heat leader position. Great move on David Howe up the inside of the 4th bend. Who says there is only 1 line at Berwick? Not in Matej Kus's book!
  3. When you are a busy executive you have to use all the tools available to weed out the rubbish. Otherwise, I'd never have time to read the sensible posts on here. You'll notice from the reply that you are clearly not on the ignore list, pal.
  4. Only reason I noticed is because I had him set to ignore and didn't recognise the name when the post was hidden. Name history on the profile explained everything. Just call me Sherlock...
  5. I wonder how many times Robin is going to change his name? I think that's more than Taffy now! Anyway, great to read on the Bandits' Newsletter that Matty has been passed fit to return. What a rider to replace Matej at reserve!
  6. The thing is, you even get typos on the BBC. In the days of print, proofreading was very important as a mistake was costly. They still got through very often. In the t'Internet age, immediacy of information is key. Thus, you find typos wherever you go. It is, however, generally accepted that MOST people have the intelligence to read through them. It takes a fair bit of time for the folk behind the scenes to write these newsletters and to compile them (aside from their many other duties). Picking away at something as trivial as this is somewhat disrespectful to them, David.
  7. Acht, big deal, we pumped Newcastle which is much more important. Keep those knives at the ready though, Screm
  8. Jeez! Really feel for you guys. Thankfully you keep going. £16 is a lot, especially for two patched-up teams.
  9. I think if you are using average as a statistical measure, then it is more accurate to use as large a dataset as possible, therefore ironing out any anomalous results.
  10. Aye, considering the way rolling averages work, it is especially impressive. Great to see that Berwick is the place for him, hopefully he'll be with us for a long time.
  11. This should be a decent meeting. Great track, with plenty of spectacularity, like Shielfield. We might just fancy our chances?
  12. I would have been astounded if we had come away with anything from here. Not our best track, and a stronger Rye than last night. Good excuse for extra drink for the Bandits on Tour!
  13. Agree, Kus us more consistent, but Jensen is a pretty handy rider to have at reserve too!
  14. Seems to have been done in the spirit of good sportsmanship too.
  15. For a definitive answer to the curfew last night. http://www.berwickbandits.co/article/double-header-part-two-part-two-curfew-runs-dry-berwick-take-further-three-points-spirited I - and many others - saw more; in addition to the spectacularity of a big, fast racetrack. Good night out.
  16. Well, I thoroughly enjoyed the double-header. A decent crowd, lots of good racing from the Bandits, and thankfully Robson and King, and excellent value for money. Having gone to Armadale last night with an open mind to see if I do wear Shielfield-tinted glasses, I reflected tonight on why Berwick is much more entertaining: for me. The passing was roughly the same, a wee bit more tonight. Both tracks were immaculately prepared. Both had excellent presentation. Both had plenty of strong riders. So, what is the difference? To sum it up in one word: spectacularity. Berwick, for whatever reason, has spectacularity. And to show that I am not being biased, out of other tracks I've visited, I can safely say that Redcar and Sheffield too have the spectacularity factor. This, I believe, is the key to the future success of speedway. Spectacularity.
  17. I could pick out one good race. The rest was just like pushbike racing. The shape of the track is the only thing I can see that causes the problems. Compare it to another wee track like Redcar, Edinburgh just lacks a big bit of fizz. Don't know if there is an answer?
  18. Perfectly prepared track, with the promotion doing a very good job: programme, presentation, facilities, and a strong team. However, it still remains the case that you can't put tinsel on a turd and call it turkey.
  19. That's not so good, a break usually heals much more quickly. Here's wishing Liam a speedy recovery.
  20. One thing is for sure, we're going there as underdogs. I'm making no predictions this time, though!
