It will surely be tested at some point. I certainly wouldn't have expected Kus to choose not riding PL at all as an option, though.

It's a tough one, if we need to choose between two. Both bring different things to the table. I can see Kus getting close to 9pt average if he achieves his full potential. Regardless of him being at reserve for a lot of the season. He took a fair few No 1s' scalps throughout the year. Personally, I like the idea of having both. Two solid, dependable riders.

That's what I was referring to earlier. Liam got a pretty fair chance in the team last year, and he did fairly well, but he wasn't one of the stronger reserves in the league. If Edberg is one of our reserves, I think he can stick a bit on his average, and I don't see the structure of the team being that different except maybe slightly stronger at 1 and slightly weaker at 6. All depends on who the other signings are.

At which point do you think we had strength in depth all the way? The reason I ask is that I think we could have a similar balance, apart from very strong number 1.

Agree, it would be a pretty solid team at that. Kus and Doolan looked very comfortable for most of last season. Also, I might be one of the few, but I think Alex has a fair bit to come yet. I certainly don't think he is a weak reserve. I'd be happy with that team, and I still can't quite believe that we have Barker. Great signing!

Do you not think 2 new assets is a bit of risk in terms of league position? I don't really have an opinion either way. I guess it probably depends on the quality of the new asset, and a number of other things us mere mortals don't think about.
