Nice to see Taffy getting to the point on this thread
-
Come on then, what do you see it as? Benevolence?
-
I think you have misunderstood Screm. The way I read it was he was not saying it was a charitable cause, but more along the line of benefit scrounger.

Good post, you are right about the aggravation on here not coming from the Supporters' Club themselves. It's just folk who seem to only have the aim of stirring things up. I can't even pretend to begin to understand why. Welfare?

Back to business as usual Mr Monks.

Couldn't agree more.

I agree he looked to have come back too early, however, it has potentially benefited us as we start to get into the season. The wonders of averages I guess! Spot on. From someone who was at Ipswich, they said Barker's heat 15 ride was brilliant. That is where it all counts. Oh, he hasn't half put in some spectacular riders at home too. I openly admit to not knowing much about the finer points of the sport, but I am very happy with Barker. He has bust a gut for every point, as he always has done. Great entertainer. -

Does riding with a broken hand count? -
Definitely, and with regard to Barker's average, a lot of that was due to him riding with a broken hand for several meetings, and some machinery problems. His recent home results, plus his scores at Ipswich (when he beat Danny King in heat 1) and Worky suggest he is starting to find his form. At this point in the season we still have a great rider - and racer - and we have a more points to make changes with. So, all's well that ends well, if there are any decent riders that are available!
-
Be a big risk, pal, especially as we are giving most teams a hard fight away from home. I'm hopefully of another playoff finish at the moment. KO Cup, anything is possible!
-
Two new assets would be very risky. Our league is off to a decent start, and we are in the middle of a good cup run. Having said that, getting any kind of replacements at all must be a complete nightmare. It's not a task I envy!

Figure of speech Nice to see you are - at long last - conceding that many of the negative comments are not justified. -

Maybe he's not scored as heavily as he has in past seasons, but he's been bloody good to watch, and has won some crucial heats. I wasn't at Ipswich, but by all accounts he was coming past Tungate in heat 15, arm pump or no arm pump! -

I'm staggered that some are considering Barker poor. You just wonder what some folk want to see. Sigh. -

I think your point about bikes being too fast has a lot of sense. Loads of bad injuries, even with all the safety improvements. Good result again. Can see us having a solid league campaign. I'm not sure you can say Barker has been a disappointment, he made the crucial move to get him and Doolan through in the KO Cup leg, his heat 15 rider on Saturday was pretty good too. Definitely not riding at his very best, but still pretty decent! -
On a separate note, desperate luck for Claus. He has been sensational for us this season. Get well soon!!

Barker's pass in 15 was amazing! I'd heard poor Billy had passed away too, it did get quite dusty later on. We've put together a pretty strong team, only to have two riders injured in the space of as many days I think bringing Hall in has proved to be particularly crucial in tonight's circumstances a bag load of points, and even more entertainment, he doesn't like the inside line, that's for sure!
