  1. I think our reserves will score well this Saturday, and going to predict a close but comfortable win.
  2. I think your point about Coty and Thornblom being new young assets and real averages for next season is spot on. Alden, I like him a lot when he is on form, I think he puts too much pressure on himself and it has an effect on his performance at times. I think he we had Barker and Vissing for the full season we'd have easily made the playoffs.
  3. It's when you phone me that I'm in bother!
  4. Sorry Taffy, I will try and do as I am told by you in the future. Just like everyone else does. The injuries really did hit us, glad we brought in a new signing for r/r, young rider with potential too. Guests are always less than desirable too, but with the injuries this year, and less riders due to stupid visa rules, there hasn't been a lot of choice. Matej Kus, last season was excellent.
  5. Ahhh, I see, that makes sense, thanks for that. You can see how focused he is, and extremely talented. I'm sure every Bandits fan wish it was a transfer fee and not a loan fee!
  6. I'm glad you noticed that, it's so hard going with a certain poster. You are quite right, though, Ben rode a few meeting with a broken hand, then had early season machinery gremlins. He still produced good scores and plenty of his trademark racing. He was just starting to get his form and equipment spot on when he had his terrible crash at the British Final. Barker and Vissing are a massive loss to us. It's to the rest of the team's credit that we are still mid-table and in the KO cup.
  7. It was all very impressive - although the racing was somewhat dull - and Leon Flint did look excellent.
  8. At this point in the season, you are correct, in terms of average. I don't think there has been a transfer fee (to my knowledge at least). I don't think describing him as a cast off was particularly accurate. Whoever the team manager is at Scunny made a bit of a slip letting him go. Thomas's last 7 scores: 11, 10, 16, 13, 11+2, 16, 14+1, Not bad, eh?
  9. Not very, then. Unlike a certain person who can welcome Aarnio to Newcastle, but not new riders to Berwick. Who throws a tantrum because he wasn't in the know with a new rider. Who made a disgusting comment about the gentleman that is Matty Wethers. Who constantly jibes at the club. Who pulled up a ridiculous typo from a press release that was announcing a new signing to the fans (a rider who looks to have a bit about him, incidentally). Hall just looks as if he needs a bit more speed. He rode well a Rye House, as did Alex. They are inconsistent, perhaps, but they are both capable of winning crucial points. Tough second half of the season so far, and entirely down to bad luck. I think we'd be looking at 3rd 4th at the moment had we not lost Ben and Claus. Good to see that crowds have been reasonably strong the last few meetings. So important if the club is to survive that the fans turn up, and it look as if they are coming out and supporting the Bandits in good numbers of late. Long may it continue. Really, Mr Monks, what a pointless post. Adds nothing to any conversation. I have no idea if any of Alex's family are involved. To be honest, it is of no interest to me who is involved in running the club. I supported the hard work of Peter Waite, of Lynda Waite, and now John Anderson and George Hepburn. It's been my club since the 70s, and that is who I support and I'm grateful for all of the above people for keeping speedway alive through it's toughest time financially. If there's anything wrong with that: then, I truly am a silly person.
  10. I thought my response was perfectly civil. If you want me to troll you, then I can, if you like. You'll not like it though.
  11. Aye, he's been an excellent signing. 20th is well past mid-July, so your darts and tankard are safe!
  12. Just a recap of various opinions on the excellent Jorgensen: pre-season.
  13. Thank you. You have no idea how much your reply made us laugh! =D
  14. Really impressed with the new Glasgow setup, great for Glasgow fans and speedway in general. The racing was very uneventful, apart from Thornblom's victory over Summers. Some pretty horrendous refereeing, but that us just par for the course with Mcgregor.
  15. I think it is psychological, with our 2 heat leaders out, and huge expectation to win at home, our riders are experiencing the speedway equivalent of white line fever.
  16. That is a mighty strong Monarchs side, really can't say anything other than the better team won. Agree with Topsoil, some decent racing later on in the meeting. Doolan yet again pulling off some tremendous moves. TJ asked Cook to show what he was made of in heat 15, and Cook responded. Good to see Liam Carr going well, Coty should have had 5 instead of 3, but just tried too hard. Thornblom looked to have a decent style and improved as the meeting went on.
  17. Sure Tero will do a job for you, and Henry at reserve should be useful.
  18. Possibly even better for his career to ride a further track next season?
  19. Sorry to see this happen, but, as the saying goes, if you can't stand the heat...

  21. I've heard good reports from some Swedish friends too. Roll on Saturday! I can't wait for Taffy's shutters to roll up and see what garbage he posts about this.
  22. Tungate was electric last weekend, he should score a fair bit for us. Thornblom, new to the track could take a bit of time to get dialled in, so don't know what to expect, but looking forward to seeing him in action. I'm sure he will get the legendary 3rd bend welcome! Alex and Richard were in better form at Rye, hoping for more points than last Saturday. TJ and Doolan, well, what is there to say about these two guys? Been excellent all season. Coty has been exciting and great to see him progressing. I fancy he will get a few points on Saturday. The Monarchs are a tasty outfit, so I think this is going to be a close one, but hopefully we'll get back to winning ways at home. Pity that Masters is out, very exciting rider around Shielfield. I suppose Cook is not bad too, though.
  23. Very true Shadders. It was what is known as a retort. I have quoted the initiating post for reference. Sigh.
  24. I'll take some of this! https://youtu.be/S8esaJzPAXw?t=19m57s https://youtu.be/S8esaJzPAXw?t=49m51s
