So Edberg has been replaced, this happens and I certainly wish him all the best. I know for a fact that the decision to replace Alex was made by the whole promotion, and I've also heard that Heppy was bombarded with texts on Saturday about Alex. All this negative stuff builds up over time, and I believe that Heppy was ready to walk on Satuday, but was - thankfully - persuaded to stay. People just need to think about all the time and effort that has been put in by these guys, and how difficult it must be for them when things go wrong through events that are out-with their control. I also know that the club are grateful for the service Alex has given to the club, and they wish him all the best for the future. People forget the good scores far too quickly. I know I'm breaking my rule of not posting this type of information on here, but sometimes it just needs to be done.

This is a valid point. The Promotion have asked for people to come forward and help out. It is highly likely a time thing. If folk find time to post on here, maybe someone could come forward to help out the club on social media? -

Leon is a fantastic young prospect. Could be the next Woffinden. -
Spot on post. Some people on here are trying to make something out of nothing. It made no sense to Berwick or Ben to come back for a couple of meetings. I'm chuffed to see him back and fit so quickly after a horrific crash.

It'll depend on how they account for things, I'll leave that discussion for the wonderfully grey world of the bean counters, I'm sure there must be a forum for that sort of thing! They've certainly done a great job, and their P&L will be a good indicator of whether or not speedway is viable with significant investment. Buying the stadium and land has to be a good investment alone. -

I have a sneaky suspicion that Glasgow might make a slightly bigger financial loss than Berwick this year. I do agree, though, that they have done a great job at Glasgow. The facilities are very good. Nothing very different on the presentation side on my visit. I think speedway is what it is... -

Spot on, it seems for some folk the track will never be any good. Like you say, the times, and the track record couldn't possibly have happened on a poor track - or at least in my limited opinion. It is another example of why the sport is becoming a joke. -

Yup, decimated by injuries. Incredible bad luck with that. Too many in general throughout the sport at the moment -

Fromafar also adds another important point about some riders just not fancying a track. The sport has turned into a complete no-win for Promotions. I get slated on here for attempting to be supportive, but I also see the bigger picture and appreciate the effort and resources that go into keeping the sport alive. -

Herein this thread lies one of the problems with speedway in general. You just cannot win in the continuous struggle against the fans. Killing it a slow death. A track that provided a new track record, had more than one line, was consistent, had plenty of grip, wasn't too deep, wasn't too slick, offered plenty of racing. The guys that put all the effort in must be wondering if it is all worth it. -

I had a perfect view of the move, and ruts - or drive coming out of 2nd bend - had nothing to do with it. -

Cook is an abbreviated Richard, but, to be fair he has got this thread going. Bates's shocker taken into consideration. Yes, I saw Makovsky's move, not going to stick up for it, but Bates's was worse. Hang on, I better add IMO to validate the above statement. -

I think providing the fallen riders are not badly hurt, then yes, this meeting had everything. I certainly don't think anyone present could say that it wasn't an entertaining meeting. The atmosphere before heat 15 was electric. From where I was standing we gated on a 5-1 too. Jorgensen certainly showing that he is easily worthy of the No1 position. He was excellent all night: as usual. A stunning track record in heat 1. It really was that good. I think that maybe shows why Cook will never be a World Champion. On a track that is able to produce such a time, and clearly with passing lines (Doolan proved that), he still cannot seem to get his head around it for the whole meeting. Maybe his name is particularly apposite. A very good Cook, but by no means a Cordon Bleu Chef. I have to agree with one of the other posters, however, Cook did nothing in the meeting that I was unhappy with. He rode Doolan hard - but fair - in both of their encounters: Doolan showing exceptional skill to win the second tussle. Doolan had to basically force him to shake pinkies by the time they got back to the pits! Those two duels, the track record, and the bottom lip going down all played big parts in an entertaining meeting. Give the lad credit where it's due. Garrity is able to go fast, but looks as if he is riding out-with his limits. Sissis took to the track very well and looked impressive. Bates. I dread to think what could happen should he decide to make a move like that again in his career. Disgraced himself, I am sorry to say -

Cook doesn't show himself to be very bright. If he can only come up with the same thing every time, then it just becomes boring, and most people start to think his opinion is irrelevant. General consensus seems to that he is just unpleasant. Doesn't take you very far once the sporting career expires. -

How close Doolan was able to sit behind Cook to take him round 3rd/4th bend just backs up what you say. It was a track where the skilful riders were able to put on a show. Garrity is going to have a bad one if he doesn't tidy up. Doolan did exceptionally well not to go over the top of him. -

Spot on. Bates was truly disgraceful. I was right in line with it, and it was the most reckless, dangerous, vindictive move I have witnessed in 30+ years of watching speedway. -

You're not going to believe me: but, I completely agree with you. Absolutely spot on post. For Cook to take half a second off the track record, then claim there is anything wrong with that track is absurd. I think Cook has an elevator, it just doesn't go to the top floor... -

Really bad luck in heat 15, we gated on the 5-1 and would have been good for the win. We were always up against it after the most atrocious move by Bates, who tried to put Liam out the stadium, never mind through the fence. He should have been put out of the meeting for that. Hope all the riders that took bumps make speedy recoveries, and I did enjoy seeing Cook spit the dummy out when Doolan completely out- rode and outwitted him. -
