  1. I wish TJ a quick recovery and all the best for the next season. He's been an exemplary professional speedway rider. Completely out of the top drawer. I'm wishing for us to have speedway next year, and I'm going to be greedy, I want it with TJ. I really hope tonight won't be the last ever Bandits meeting. Hopefully we get a lot of people out to show that it is worth fighting for.
  2. You're welcome! I thought I better do it on here as well as in person
  3. I don't know why you bothered replying. It was a Taffy post, so in all probability a pile of mince: which, of course, turned out to be the case.
  4. With both of you on this. New PA system very expensive and - I guess - comes under Berwick Ranger remit.
  5. I think the music at Berwick is fine. The current charts are very bland and formulaic, and good music is timeless. My 6 year old loves ABBA and the Beatles, and some new stuff as well. AC/DC at Berwick? I don't think many people will disagree on that being a decent choice (it's the only one I ever notice!).
  6. More very sad cheap shots from the usual pair. Becoming a bit of a laughing stock at the moment.
  7. Thought it was a very respectful article with real high praise for Darcy, and Jason Garrity. Dick on top form there.
  8. Something I thought worth of mention on here was the much maligned (on here) Dick Barrie's page in the programme. I thought it was a really great piece of writing.
  9. My post was a generalisation too, just with a specific example. As I say, I'd be interested. There a lots of experts on here, but none of them ever seem to materialise in real life...
  10. You're attempted reasons are so far from the truth. I'd be interested to find out how many "experts" have come forward to help with this give the recent invitation for help: as stated, it wasn't just financial help that was being asked for. Speedway "fans" knock the very people who keep it alive. THAT is really where the lack of foresight resides.
  11. My lugs were blocked, but I certainly didn't hear anything like that either.
  12. On the point of selling the sport, this is pretty impressive - yet again - from the Glasgow setup. https://youtu.be/cyHUmpl3hfw
  13. Decent meeting, Hansen and Wells were very, very classy. Though it was a small crowd, and the atmosphere was non-existent. Didn't here any music over the PA? Mind, it's not to say there wasn't any as I was full of the cold and had blocked ears!
  14. Looking forward to this one. We saw last night what we might have been capable of with a bit more luck on the injury front.
  15. So Edberg has been replaced, this happens and I certainly wish him all the best. I know for a fact that the decision to replace Alex was made by the whole promotion, and I've also heard that Heppy was bombarded with texts on Saturday about Alex. All this negative stuff builds up over time, and I believe that Heppy was ready to walk on Satuday, but was - thankfully - persuaded to stay. People just need to think about all the time and effort that has been put in by these guys, and how difficult it must be for them when things go wrong through events that are out-with their control. I also know that the club are grateful for the service Alex has given to the club, and they wish him all the best for the future. People forget the good scores far too quickly. I know I'm breaking my rule of not posting this type of information on here, but sometimes it just needs to be done.
  16. This is a valid point. The Promotion have asked for people to come forward and help out. It is highly likely a time thing. If folk find time to post on here, maybe someone could come forward to help out the club on social media?
  17. Leon is a fantastic young prospect. Could be the next Woffinden.
  18. Spot on post. Some people on here are trying to make something out of nothing. It made no sense to Berwick or Ben to come back for a couple of meetings. I'm chuffed to see him back and fit so quickly after a horrific crash.
  19. It'll depend on how they account for things, I'll leave that discussion for the wonderfully grey world of the bean counters, I'm sure there must be a forum for that sort of thing! They've certainly done a great job, and their P&L will be a good indicator of whether or not speedway is viable with significant investment. Buying the stadium and land has to be a good investment alone.
  20. I have a sneaky suspicion that Glasgow might make a slightly bigger financial loss than Berwick this year. I do agree, though, that they have done a great job at Glasgow. The facilities are very good. Nothing very different on the presentation side on my visit. I think speedway is what it is...
