Video interview with new Team Manager Scott Courtney. http://berwickbandits.co/article/scott-courtney-interview

You're quite right, Screm, and they are very successful businessmen too.
-
Oh dear.
-
Completely agree, Screm. Great company to have backing the club

More great news, Bandits announce new sponsor! http://www.berwickbandits.co/article/marquee-signing

It's the best comparison I've seen. I don't know if there is any research. What I would say is that you don't see riders going underneath the polyfoam fences, or rebounding back. I'm sure there are differing opinions throughout the sport.

Here's a good comparison. You can see the benefits. http://www.championproducts.info/speedwaybarriers

It's great isn't Sarah. Not that long ago we were worried if we were going to have speedway at all. Hoping to get down to Rye again this year, hopefully for another win!

More great news! Great to see two of the new Directors putting on a free bus "All Aboard! Darren Amers and Michael Mullan, two of our new Associate Directors, have put their money where their mouths are, and are offering some of our supporters the opportunity to travel to Redcar on March 24 to cheer on our Bandits. The dynamic duo are paying for a luxury coach to ferry a few dozen or so fans to our opening meeting against the Bears in the Tees - Tweed Trophy. "We need to go down there and really make a noise" said Darren, "It's our first meeting of the Season, and we feel that we can go down there and pull off a win, We've got seven guys going on track to win, but if we can take down 50 raucous and rowdy Bandit fans, we'll tip the balance in our favour for sure". "Spaces are limited to one coach" explains Michael Mullan of Castle Blinds. "So PM this page as soon as you can - Its strictly First come, First Served, but we'd really love to take a bus full down to cheer on our heroes." Times will be confirmed later - Why not book your seat now, then pay at the Media Prime Arena, cheer your heart out, then do it again on the Saturday at Shielfield? PM us on Facebook to book a seat on the coach." https://www.facebook.com/BerwickSpeedway/

Agree, there have been some huge steps forward in the close season. Feels like there has been a lot of coming together. Working with the Football Club, local businessmen stepping up and supporting the club both financially and professionally, more fans coming forward and helping out, and a great team Manager in place. Lots of people are talking about the club with a real buzz around the area. Can't wait for the season to start!

Peterborough Panthers 2016
bigeddiechek replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very good sponsor, well done Panthers! -
Looks like Matty Wethers has been investing heavily in equipment for the coming season (from the newsletter). I think he could be a real trump card at reserve.
-
Absolutely, I was going to add that my rider sponsorship in the past was mainly for the personal enjoyment. The club too. It's good to see that club and supporters' club are working together again. That is a very positive move. Turning up on a Saturday, going to away meetings, and verbally backing your riders and club are all important parts of being a true fan.
-
First point is fair enough. That makes sense. Second point, this is just from personal experience, sponsoring a rider and getting the logo on Sky Sports gave zero return, sponsoring the club generated business. Only from personal experience, though. UK finances are in big, big trouble. Iceland and Ireland took their medicine way back and are doing fine. We're still to take ours and, my word, it's going to taste bad
-
While sponsoring riders is most laudable, given the fact that they frequently move clubs from season to season, I don't see the logic that it is supporting the club. You'll know your business best, but one would have thought that you would get more bang for your buck sponsoring a club as opposed to an individual. In any case, good to see that the Bandits are making a commercial push. There seems to be a real buzz about the club this close season. No messing about! 4 years from Osbourne, £1.6 trillion on debt. I'm afraid to say it will be a lot longer than 4 years

For those on here that have FB, a link to the event. https://www.facebook.com/events/547628865396665/

Who was being sarcastic? Little bubble for me? Come Taffy, mammoth bubble, perhaps.
-
Aye, have to admit, you've got your business spot on Taffy, cracking retail enterprise.
-
Nice to see back to business as usual on here for the usual suspects. Well done to Sparkafag for giving them a reason to exist again No idea why I would want to venture to the general discussion part of the forum. Didn't even know it existed, never mind be inclined to post there. I'm here as I support the Bandits. Kind of the point of the forum: or is there a lonely hearts part of it too?
-
Finally, an admission to what so many have suspected!
-
It might be worth dropping them a message, Screm. Interestingly, they distinguish between official and unofficial supporters clubs. Maybe this is something speedway can learn from the vastly successful Premiership?
-
That, Screm, is what is known as "playing the daft laddie"!!!!!!
-
Quite sad, really, isn't it. Looks like a great event, though, and well done to the guys that have organised it. I'm hoping that I can get along.
-
Completely agree, the club seems re-invigorated with all the new guys on board. I just wish the end of March would hurry itself up!
-
It's just really bad form not to reference other people's work. Most people understand that.
