  1. The same for me, far to far to go from Peterborough on a Wednesday but would definitely attended at a weekend.
  2. or maybe a very clever move by Rick to get shot of Bjerre on such a high average with only 40 points to play with now. He may think he can now operate at that level with all his assets.
  3. well I must have left early then as I only watched 22 heats. As for the meeting, I really enjoyed it and there was some very exciting racing. I sit next to the start line and thought Kenny got it but it was a close call. How bad was gate 3, with not one heat win all night and 12 of the 20 heats the rider came last. For me Peterborough provides fast, exciting racing when the track is prepared correctly. A good crowd as well so well done to all.
  4. It's very refreshing to read a post like this instead of whinging. Great post.
  5. Well I am going there as a neutral and I hope the winner is....speedway. It was a great day the last time it was held at the showground. We have had a lot of rain on Friday and today but the outlook is better for tomorrow.
  6. Enjoyed the whole day and thought the racing was very good. Well done to Holder and bad luck on Gollob. Entertainment was poor but who cares. The biggest disappointment for me was that there were a group of Poles in front of us who cotinuously stood up with their very large flag every time Hampel or Gollob were in races. The stewards, two young girls, told them to sit down but we had to move ourselves.
  7. Have to agree with everyone else on here in that it was a boring meeting. I was pleased with Niels K Iversen as that is the best I have ever seen him at Brandon. Let's hope he does the same next week when the real action starts. Agree with everyone else about the amount of riders who packed up if not in a winning position.
  8. An update on the weather would be handy in the next half hour please.
  9. Just returned from what was a cold evening but not as bad as expected. I thought the whole presentation was good this evening. I will not say anything too negative about any of the riders as I know they were trying out machines and blowing away the cobwebs. However I have to say there were some positives tonight and was very impressed with Troy who will surely be after the number one slot before the end of the season. The other riders who impressed were Jesper Monberg and Krysztof Buczkowski. It was so good to see Jesper riding so well again around the showground and obviously had a point to prove. Krsyztof tried very hard and looks a good acquisition as he quickly adapted to the track and gave 100%. Jason after sorting his machinery was his usual self. He made it clear when interviewed that he was not happy with the silencers that have to be used this year. As I sit level with the tapes I have to say I missed the noise generated just before they go up. It was so good just to be there knowing the season has started. An excellent firework display rounded off the evening.
  10. They may try out Wembley as a second venue in September, but hope we never lose Cardiff.
  11. Would have loved to be at this meeting but on the wrong shift. My top three are Holder, Lindgren and Bjerre. I would like to see Hampel and Zagar back in the gp's though.
  12. Excellent meeting and have always said that the showground provides brilliant racing if prepared well so hats off to Buster tonight. Great to see Danny ride so well. Lewis and Chris also put in plenty of effort. Very rarely have I see Ed ride Peterborough very well and so I expect him to be replaced by Lee on Thursday. Some great racing tonight particularly Crump v Zagar. I have to say I was disappointed with Gollob in the last race as I was looking forward to him and Crump in the final heat. Well done to all at Peterborough for putting on such a great meeting.
  13. Just got home from this meeting and have to agree with others that it was a long drawn out meeting with very little passing on a track that was not prepared very well. Many people next to me left early as well and I doubt whether I will attend again. Very impressed with Jonas Andersson. Someone should sign him up pretty quickly. Nice to meet Tigerblade and Big Fat Dave for the first time today.
  14. After last night's performance my money is going on Freddie. He was sensational and with odds of 20/1 that has to be a good bet. I was also going to have a small wager on Bjerre but after last night not so sure but then it could have been GPitis.
  15. We travel on the M50 and always stop betweem Monmouth and the M4. There is a great layby with a caravan that does excellent bacon rolls etc. and a mug of tea. I know how to give my wife a good time.
  16. Terrible decision on Nicki. Lee summed it up perfectly that because Nicki was in the lead, Emil was trying to cut inside and caught his back wheel. Any more decisions like that I might as well go on holiday.
  17. Enjoyed tonight's meeting and thought the track provided some good racing. I feel a bit sorry for Lee who looked good until the final. Well done to Chris and also Eddie for qualifying. Scott was poor and on this showing should not be the captain of GB. I don't think anyone will take a punt on him in the Elie league even if he did want to come back.
