  1. The British Final took place at Belle Vue last night (13/06/2016) The line up for the Grand Final was Craig Cook, Danny King, Robert Lambert, Steve. Worrall Result Danny King, Craig Cook, Robert Lambert ( ) and Steve Worrall ( ) Well done Diamonds Robert and Steve and congratulations to Danny King an ex diamond. The meeting was dominated by the Premier League's best Scott Nichols and Chris Harris did not qualify for the Grand Final perhaps signalling that they should look for places in next seasons PL campaign to revitalise their careers. I would love to see both Elite League riders next season in PL teams. Now to our next home match v Danny King and Ipswich Newcastle 1. Robert Lambert 2. Viktor Palavaara 3. Matej Kus 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Steve Worrall 6. Lewis Rose 7. Danny Philipps Ipswich 1. Danny King 2. James Sarjeant 3. Nico Covatti 4. Morten Risager 5. Ben Barker 6. Paco Castagna 7. Oliver Greenwood No idea about these line ups re guests R/R etc so please let us know if you have details of any changes.
  2. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz snore zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  3. Is anyone capable of doing a good MS Excel for keeping track of a teams averages. If so, can you send a copy to me my email is jskinner06@btinternet.com
  4. 3 days to go for this match Rye House 1. Edward Kennett 2. R/R for Peter Karger 3. Cameron Heeps 4. Leigh Lanham 5. Stuart Robson 6. Kasper Lykke 7. Ben Morley Newcastle 1. Robert Lambert 2. Victor Palovaara 3. Matej Kus 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Steve Worrall 6. Lewis Rose 7. Danny Phillips Newcastle may just have more firepower than the Rockets
  5. Couldn't see a thread for this match So I have started it Sheffield 1. Simon Stead 2. Josh Bates R/R ? 3. Kyle Howarth 4. Dimitri Berge 5. Jason Garrity 6. Arthur Sissis 7. Nathan Greaves Newcastle 1. Robert Lambert 2. Victor Palovaara 3. Matej Kus 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Steve Worrall 6. Lewis Rose 7. Danny Phillips Apologies if the line ups are wrong. I rate Simon Stead and Jason Garrity as amongst the best in the league. Kyle Howath and Dimitri Berge are excellent riders too so why do I keep thinking Newcastle can upset the tigers!!!! It should be a decent match regardless of the result
  6. Hasn't anyone noticed that each Sunday when we couldn't have a meeting the sun has been shining and the track would've been dry! How much do you bet it will rain when we eventually stage the next home meeting. The promoters will have lost a few quid due to cancelled meetings and I hope they can weather the situation I never expected more from Matej Kus he wins a race and next time is last Do I hear "Gating Tart" He was like that last season and I was amazed that Newcastle were so determined to sign him Danny is learning the trade, we have glimpsed what he can do but he should drop down to the National League and come back to the Premier League next year. It did Steve Worrall no harm and Danny should look at Steve for inspiration Viktor's signing surprised me but the Swede is picking up points and on current form we should stick with him when Tero is fit again I hope Wm Hill has sorted out the work on Brough Park and we will not miss anymore home fixtures
  7. Maybe we should do away with building teams and just select 14 riders for each match from a list of everyone available! NO! right.. but the current situation is a rubbish idea too isn't it. I have decided against supporting the Diamonds at Redcar tonight and any other away match if we cannot track at least 5 of our guys. If Robbo, Richie and Garcia win the match for Newcastle it is hardly a Diamonds victory is it? I started supporting in 1961 (I was a kid then) and cannot remember a situation as bad as this. Something needs to be done to prevent this situation next season
  8. We are stuck with this situation I am afraid! I wonder why the Elite League has precedence over the Premier League etc but we just have to play by the rules and in this case we are 4 riders short and the league cup meeting cannot be put back again so we go into this one with 3 guests and R/R
  9. Its the day before and I couldn't find a thread so I am starting one. Redcar Lasse Bjerre ??? Jacob Bukhave Hugh Skidmore Jonas B Andersen David Bellego ??? Lee Payne Newcastle Richie Worrall (Guesting for Robert Lambert) Victor Palovaara (Rider Replacement) Matej Kus Stuart Robson (Guesting for Ludde Lindgren) Steve Worrall Fernando Garcia (Guesting for Lewis Rose) Danny Phillips When starting a thread I like to name the riders taking part, but often this is very difficult with riders popping up for guest bookings and then ruling themselves out with injuries etc Redcar may have a couple of issues with their team for Thursday 2nd June. Newcastle go into this match minus 4 riders. The Diamonds have brought in as guests two Newcastle friendly riders Richie Worrall at no 1 and long time Newcastle rider Stuart Robson at number 4. On paper the two guests should do their selection justice and help the diamonds cause. Garcia comes in as a guest for high scoring reserve Lewis Rose. IF Rose was available he may have netted 10 points so come on Fernando get into double figures for the diamonds and get youself down for other guest bookings throughout the year at Newcastle
  10. Looks like we will be without Lewis Rose who was withdrawn during his Elite League match for KL at Wolves
  11. Can someone enlighten me re Heat 15. Richie Broke the tapes and the options were for him to go off 15 metres or be replaced. Now he/his team should have been punished but were allowed to bring in a heat leader Aaron Summers for Richie how is that a punishment for a team breaking the tapes! Anyway it appears the match was a classic for the home fans
  12. Ah well it was no surprise we got beat by 2 points. Theo wasn't the best guest we could have had
  13. From a Newcastle point of view it is a blow that we cannot have Steve Worrall in our side. Guest Theo Pijper is a good rider but he is unlikely to match what Steve Worrall could score at Edinburgh. If the Diamonds lose by just a few points and Pijper under-acheives then I will question the choice of guest. Come on Theo prove me wrong and win us the match
  14. Yes Nico could be in with a shout he was good last year. The choice of guests comes down to availability and other factors. My automatic choice would be Richie Worrall but Glasgows race day is sunday too. Sam Masters?
  15. As usual we wait to be told any news of guests. Newcastle Robert Lambert Viktor Palovaara Matej Kus Ludvig Lindgren Steve Worrall (Absent on Elite League Duty - waiting news on a guest) Lewis Rose Danny Phillips Redcar Lasse Bjerre Jacob Bukhave Hugh Skidmore Jonas B Andersen David Bellego Simon Nielsen Lee Payne The Newcastle side are apparently without Steve Worrall who is riding in the Elite League on 23rd May 2016. Hopefully we can bring in a guest. I would go for Seb Alden if he is available. Seb rides Brough really well. The Bears line up shown above may have changed so if you know of any changes please let us know. Reserve Simon Nielsen is welcomed back. I note David Bellego has been riding well. Hopefully the match will be entertaining with the Diamonds winning easily
  16. Thank you JOS50 I do my best! I love the older bikes
  17. Yes Ruff D. I have put some hours into all 3 websites..me wife says i should get out more but what does she know . Looking forward to some track action guess we need to be patient
  18. No action for a while for the Diamonds. Time maybe to look back at the history of Newcastle Speedway. We started at Brough on 17th May 1929. If you are interested follow this link and spend a few hours educating yourselves. My Newcastle Speedway History website is not an official Newcastle Speedway website but hey it is great anyway (well thats my opinion!) go on have a browse http://newcastlespeedwayhistory.co.uk I have another speedway website:- http://defunctspeedway.co.uk This site has become my life's work! You will be surprised if you stray onto it. It receives a lot of praise. Ivan Mauger, Dave Gifford Reg Fearman and a whole lot more are devotees of the website Newcastle/Tyneside Cycle Speedway If you want to know about the pedal variety of speedway then the following site is for you http://newcastlecyclespeedway.co.uk My mate Keith aka Jack o Diamonds and I have put together a history of cycle speedway have a look you will probably recognise a few riders who are at Brough every week If anyone has photos etc that should be shown on the three websites then please email us via the websites
  19. Yes Alden is great around Brough Park. I presume George has his phone number should we need a guest at home
  20. I hear Matej Kus required first aider help at Kings Lynn last night. Hope he is fit for tonights match
  21. I am at this one and hope all of our riders are too! Watching your team with guests in place of Elite league commited riders is not the same as seeing all 7 of your riders in action. The current situation is killing the sport both sets of fans want to be entertained by the teams without Guests. Robert, Steve and Lewis are the doubling up/down riders who because they are good riders have Elite interests which take priority over our Premier league. Matej Kus has overseas commitments. If Newcastle track guests and lose then the home side will be happy enough to take the points but if we are tracking Guests and win then the home side can feel agrieved. Berwick Can a Berwick fan supply the likely Berwick line up Newcastle 1. Robert Lambert 2. Viktor Palovaara 3. Matej Kus 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Steve Worrall 6. Lewis Rose 7. Danny Phillipps Can anyone run the rule over the Newcastle line up and say who is likely to be replaced by a guest
  22. I don't like wet speedway days, wondering if a meeting is on or off and if the meeting goes ahead on a wet track, "racing" is usually not possible, so I salute promoters that postpone earlier rather that at start time. So thank you George and the team. I now have the time to tidy up me garage ( gulp!) thank you
  23. A signing to replace Tero Aarnio has been made namely, 22 year old Swedish rider, Viktor Palovaara who rode for Glasgow last season Teams likely to be :- Newcastle 1. Robert Lambert 2. Viktor Palovaara 3. Matej Kus 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Steve Worrall 6. Lewis Rose 7. Danny Phillips Redcar 1. Lasse Bjerre 2. Jacob Bukhave 3. Hugh Skidmore 4. Jonas B Andersen 5. David Bellego 6. Simon Nielsen 7. Lee Payne This signing should make us a little stronger as R/R for Tero meant one ride for Ludde and the other three rides taken by our reserves. Let us hope that Viktor "hits the ground running" He will of course be able to discuss things in Swedish, if his English/Geordie is not good, with his team captain. Now we are getting used to our riders pulling out for other commitments we will just have to wait and see if the team line up will mean enforced changes and a guest or two!!
  24. Newcastle 1. Robert Lambert 2. Tero Aarnio (R/R) 3. Matej Kus 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Steve Worrall 6. Lewis Rose 7. Danny Phillips Redcar 1. Lasse Bjerre 2. Jacob Bukhave 3. Hugh Skidmore 4. Jonas B Andersen 5. David Bellego 6. Simon Nielsen 7. Lee Payne The corresponding fixture at Redcar on Thursday 28th April has been postponed due to it raining a bit! I suspect Havvy didn't fancy the grief of Newcastle winning down the A19 So now to Sunday at Brough let us hope the rain will pass on by leaving the Brough track in good nick to dish out some more excellent racing. Can anyone explain how we have witnessed full throttle displays every week but the heat winning times are a few seconds slower? I am pleased by the riding of Lewis and Danny, keep it up lads you can get odd points to make the difference between a 2-4 to a 3-3 or 4-2. Tero Aarnio All of us like the FINN and wish him well but if the prognosis is weeks on the sick list then we need to bring in a rider to improve on the R/R option Enjoying what matches we have had so far and just waiting for everyone in the team to click, we will take some stopping home or away
