Ta for the praise. I hope to make the site really special. Just need a little help from forum members whom have photos etc of "their" now defunct track.
The Walthamstow page has a great picture of the neon lighted sign, must be etched into their fans memories
I have just added pictures of New Cross, Harringay, Walthamstow, Berwick (Berrington) to the Defunct Tracks website.
Always looking for more pictures etc for the website
On my history site we have riders in black during 1971 then when Newcastle opened again in 1975 leathers were coloured. So this narrows it down to 1973/74
Slant was one of those riders who never made much impact hence he moved from team to team. We had him in Diamonds colours (ha black and white!).
There are photos of him on the 1960's part1 page of History of Newcastle Diamonds
Some of you will already know that I have begun a website for any venue that has closed down. I hope to air many photos that may not have been shown on the web before so if you have any pics of Crystal Palace (or anywhere else) please get in touch email jskinner06@btinternet.com

Its a bit far for a day trip for me. I will have to wait now til season 2008 then do the museum and a couple of matches.
Well done everyone concerned
Yes The Bradford team of 1962 has two old timers in it: Wal Morton born 1911 and Geoff Pymar born 1912.
