  6. As I read through this thread I became annoyed by the content. Bjarne has been a great servant to Newcastle/Poole Please just accept that he is entitled to a testimonial and lend the organisors your support
  7. Thanks Guys. Fairly mild here in North East England. Merry Christmas from the Defunct Site and Newcastle Speedway History to all that use these pages. Lets hope 2009 is a good year
  8. Hi Yesterdays Man, I was not aware of any censoring on this thread. I do not subscribe to name calling myself and wish that others didn't either. I suppose the thread has drawn better attention to the Reg Fearman pages because of the controversy.
  9. Yes and good ole Len Silver has the right name too. I think we should drop the Jewish names thread before we upset someone, too late! I have already done it. The thread is about publicising the Reg Fearman pages on the website afterall
  10. Hi Tsunami, I never knew that Gil was Jewish, I suppose there is a clue in his surname (No! I don't mean finch!). Another fact that may have escaped many Newcastle fans was that Reg Fearman had a 50% stake in Newcastle when we reopened in 1961
  11. Hi, I have just put 3 Belle Vue Colts team photographs on the Defunct Tracks I need help with naming the riders. Please visit the website the photos are on the "Name The Rider" page
  12. Reg has been busy with his memoirs, there are now 3 webpages of his activities. His pages can be found here Reg Fearman
  13. The Reg Fearman pages of The Defunct Website have Reg's Story, Jack Gate's 80th Birthday Party, Igor Plechanov's visit to the UK, The low down on Reading, Reg and Ivan Mauger, Alf Weedon's 80th Birthday and the life of Eric Chitty. There is a lot more to come from Reg on these webpages so please visit the site and if you want to "speak" to Reg via the website, don't hesitate email me.
  14. Yes Arnie good point about Tilehurst, I will do that too
  15. In the late 20's and 1930's cigarette cards often featured speedway. They are now a good source of information. The cards are now highly collectible and they look brilliant scanned onto a website. I hope to make the Defunct Site the sole website for these cards. So have a look at the Card Sets page of the site and be entertained. If anyone has any cards the site would like to hear from you email me Defunct Site
  16. Hi Reading Fans, Strange as it must seem to you, Smallmead is now a Defunct Venue and I have started a Reading page on the Defunct Tracks website. Ex Promoter Reg Fearman is currently looking through his Reading memorabilia and will shortly be contributing to the page. I would like to hear from fans with items they can scan to make the Reading page better than any other teams in the A-Z So come on send me an email jskinner06@btinternet.com
  17. I feel as owner of the site Reg is contributing to that I should respond. Firstly Neil Middleditch has done so much for the sport, let me say well done Middlo and keep it up. Reg Fearman also did so much for the sport, introduced new venues and chaired the BSPA. Reg is big enough to answer any criticisms but we think an Internet Forum is not the appropriate place to do that. The original post on this this website was made to let speedway fans know that some of Reg's personal photo's and thoughts have been captured on the Defunct Speedway website, please have a look and let me (John) know what you think.
  18. PM sent Marty The Reg Fearman pages now cover Reg and Reading and also his 1955 meeting with 16 yr old Ivan Mauger
  19. Thanks for checking for me. I will just have to disappoint his Grandaughter

Reg has his own page on www.defunctspeedway.co.uk
  22. Hi Marty If you go down to Berrington remember to take your camera and photograph anything that is left of the track for me Daniel Todan
  23. Yeah Falkirk Bandit, thank you. The site is growing daily and big thanks to all who have scanned pictures, programmes badges etc. Keep them coming please. I'll bet falkirk bandit does not like my other site (Eh yes the Newcastle one)
