  1. last time we met at Brough there were many fallers Howarth being one. Newcastles track is fine imo. I just want to see two well balanced sides giving it all on a good race track. Can anyone say what Workingtons 1-7 will be
  2. Very sad if we cannot see the full strength comets and with guests you cannot really forecast a result. I am always confident that the diamonds will win and I think we are well capable of winning over two legs. I always am happy to watch Rene Bach. He was great with the diamonds. I am happy to let him top score for the comets as long as he doesn't put us out of the cup. Would love to see him back in our team for 2013 How likely are Workington to close down?? What a shame if it happens but we have first claim on Rene
  3. I thought Somerset was englands sunshine county. Hectic times for the Diamonds at the end of the season. We are in the league play offs, the league cup and the KO cup. It is great to have meaningful fixtures and even the league match at Plymouth is important as a result there (Draw will do) will mean us finishing top of the league
  4. This fixture falls on my birthday and I expect a gift so go on Diamonds give me a present. I can name the likely Newcastle side Stuart Robson Richie Worrall R/R Mark Lemon Christian Henry Ludvig Lindgren ? Paul Starke ? Claes Nedermark Can someone name the Workington team and confirm Paul Starke at number 6 for the Diamonds. I sincerely hope that someone comes in to save the comets from closing. The north has a great fan base. Workington, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Berwick, Newcastle and Redcar all operating. If Workington cannot continue it will be a very sad day for the rest of us.
  5. I love two legged afairs. You cannot really argue against a team winning over 30 heats can you? This is why I am going for a Newcastle aggregate win. Ther is no doubt Somerset are a very good side so both matches will be worth turning up to watch. The diamonds have frequently picked up the odd point for finishing close away from home. That is why we are top of the league contenders. We have always done well at home thanks to our second strings Ludvig, Christian and Ned and the Worralls prior to the broken legs the twins have. Unlike Newcastle riders of the past they can all gate well. We need Stuart and Mark to lead the way tonight as they can score well at Somerset. I hope the weather is good and both sets of riders entertain and come through unscathed. Oh Yeah my prediction! why do I want to say 50-40 to Newcastle?, maybe I'm mad eh? If we get 40 I will be happy but I expect it to be close
  6. Hiya Plymouth Here come the Diamonds. As far as I am concerned The team that finishes top of the league are the real league champions so I want us to take points from Plymouth and finish top dogs. We need Christian, Ludvig and Neddy to score heavily as we have been unable to rely on Stuart and Mark, I am sure there will be reasons for their hit and miss form even if i cannot see it? For me our number 7, Claes, has been a far better rider since dropping to reserve. Maybe he will get it going and get 7 good scoring rides against the Devils. I think he will win us the match. No pressure then Claes. I predict all Newcastle Riders riding well ( Robbo and Lemo will deliver) and us coming away 50-40 winners. Why? because I have been forecasting that scoreline all season and by the law of averages it will happen doon on the south coast as it is our last match. As always whatever happens, I sincerely hope that Newcastle will entertain the home fans by gating well and coming from the back (In Robbos case). You Devils are being visited by top of the table elect Newcastle Diamonds so fall over in our presence, we are after maximum points but only need a draw
  7. Yeah the key to even greater success in the last few matches is for Robbo and Lemo to step it up a gear. We all know they can do it. As for the track it looked very good against Edinburgh but the paying punters like me did not have much to get excited about. The times were slower and there was precious little overtaking. Heat 15 apart when double L and Tully gave it stick way out wide. Wish I could make the very long trip to Plymouth to watch our lads win 50-40
  8. How is the weather around Ipswich. We can all do without a rain off in the closing stages of the season. I wish I was gonna be there but its to far for mid week. I hope its a good meeting with close racing as long as the Diamonds get at least 1 point I will be happy although I expect us to win 50-40, well one day we will win away by that score
  9. Nah Berwicks press releases are written by some other clown Eh? I don't like your tone of voice, get off my case and write something worthwile if you can, that we would like to hear. Meanwhile lets get back to discussing speedway not picking up on someones mistakes. Lifes too short mate
  10. Thanks mate, Looks like our lads will take a couple of rides to get used to a track that they haven't seen much this year. We have some good gaters and Stuart Robson who usually misses the start and entertains by having a go from the back. He is great to watch if he is in the mood to have a blast. Mark Lemon has been up and down this season but if he hits the front will take some beating. Christian Henry is a rider who can win one be second or third next time out but is rarely last. Our main hope will fall to Claes Nedermark, recently dropped to reserve. Claes is a gater who can get in front but quite often he will be overtaken as he never shuts the gate. We will have a guest for Richie Worrall in Scunthorpes Micheal Palm Toft. I cannot comment on him, I just hope he gets amongst the points. We will be using R/R for Ludvig Lindgren, this means rides for Mark Lemon, Christian Henry and the reserves. Dakota North impressed us when he was a Diamond. I wish I could be at this match but I will be following it on the net
  11. Ipswich fans, How has the track been recently, slick, grippy, easy or hard to pass. has it been a gaters track? Which witch is one to watch? Newcastle have been good to watch in most away matches this season. We have picked up the point for finishing within 1-6 points in defeat so many times I think no other side has done that this year. So I think it will be a good match to watch
  12. Hi Backless, I am pleased that my throw away comments in my thread opener gave you something to comment on. All I meant was that I hope the teams are as strong as possible to be able to entertain us. There will be absences (long term in Newcastles case). From now on I will get my daughter to proof read my postings before I make them in order to frustrate you if nothing else
  13. This fixture has fallen victim of the weather at the last two attempts. Newcastle v Monarchs matches are usually good ones. I hope for a dry night on Tyneside, both sides to be at full strength, good racing and the Diamonds to win by 8 points at least. We are getting fed up watching our lads knock up 60 point wins. Edinburgh will stop us hitting 60 again, i am sure, looking forward to this one
  14. As we can use Lemo, Palm Toft, Henry and Nedermark to cover R/R for Lindgren. It could just mean extra points for us. Ludvig is very good at home 15 point max last two meetings but he is a bit up and down in away matches. I will do my usual forecast for away matches Newcastle to win 50-40 but a point will do. Look out witches we are coming to burn you at the stake. As always I hope the Diamonds are good value for money and entertain the Ipswich crowd look out for reserve Ned. He will either score nowt or hit double figures from reserve berth
  15. Well done Abbott. So We have a guest for Richie after his rides have recently been taken by R/R. Can you say why we are now allowed a guest? Why wasn't it a guest for Ludvig and R/R for Richie. I used to understand the rules a few years back but not any more So Newcastle now look like: - 1. Stuart Robson 2. Michael Palm Toft (Guest) 3. Mark Lemon 4. Christian Henry 5. R/R Ludvig Lindgren 6. ????? Paul Starke 7. Claes Nedermark I know Michael gets amonst the points so he could be a good guest. Dunno how he goes at Ipswich. We still need to know if it will be Paul at number 6. With a guest in the side it is always difficult to forecast a result but maybe Micheal will be better than 2 rides to Paul Starke for rider replacement and with Ludvig having a better average it should mean Christian and Lemo are able to take R/R rides for Ludvig.
  16. Here we go with another thread. The Witches v Diamonds. Last time out the home side tracked 1. Leigh Lanham 2. Dakota North 3. Taylor Poole 4. Morten Risager 5. Rohan Tungate 6. Mathieu Tresarrieu 7. ?????Stefan Nielsen (G) Newcastle are likely to go with 1. Stuart Robson 2. Richie Worrall R/R 3. Mark Lemon 4. Christian Henry 5. ????? Ludvig Lindgren may be missing elswhere 6. ????? Paul Starke 7. Claes Nedermark We at Newcastle remember Dak North and will be happy for him to top score against us as long as we get at least a point from the match. Ipswich are a good side and I hope the Diamonds entertain the home crowd. Now I always say Newcastle to win 50-40 but I feel Ipswich will win the match with Newcastle picking up a point. Can anyone confirm the riders I have marked ????? WQish I could be there but a mid week match with so many miles away. I will watch this one on our updates site
  17. Yeah agree. Twice last night Christian came from behind. He is attacking the track and riding aggresively (But not dangerously). Very entertaining stuff from him and I would ask him to come back in 2013. He has overtaken more times this season than I remember him doing last time he was in the team.
  18. Berwick are happy with the win and the Newcastle fans went home happy after a great 5-1 in heat 15 which got us an all important point We will take max points tonight against Plymouth So I think it will have been a good weekends work for the Diamonds come 9pm tonight. I enjoyed my trip to Berwick, the crowd looked quite big, the track was fair and there was plenty of passing (mainly Bandits doing it :-( good luck with crowd next week
  19. In the Newcastle team all but Stuart Robson can make the gate and Stuart is great at coming from behind. I am praying that Lemo will lead the team with a decent score, we need all of our riders to score a bit more than their PL averages. Ludvig and Claes are my riders to watch and if they get amongst the points we will win. Looking forward to this one
  20. Yeah Muckman, This is as good a chance as we have had recently of a win at Shielfield. Lemo has been a bit hit or miss this year. Robbo always manages a few points up there but we need a big hitter and lets hope Ludvig is the one to cover himself in glory on the back of his maximum last sunday. Christian may have been thrown to the Lions (well tigers) at Sheffield on Thursday but he is a decent point scorer at Berwick. This leaves Claes at reserve. He holds Newcastles success at Berwick in his Claws (Claes get it? nah well forget it) Go on Ned you can win us a match. Still think we can do it. I always think newcastle will win away by 10 points Ho Ho! I will be up there for a cheap nights speedway £10.00 is great, might even take the wife (oh no! what have I said) Gulp! Newcastle by 10 points
  21. Yep but even more importantly I like speedway and wanna see good racing (despite who wins) every where I go and pay my admission. At Newcastle we usually see at least one opposition rider scorch the track so it is usually good for racing. I am not criticising Shielfield just responding to previous posts suggesting Berwicks track is not good for racing. I am coming up to cockleland hoping for entertainment with a capital E er thats all crescent girl but we will win by 10 points
  22. Just heard George English is dishing out suntan lotion for this one
