Plymouth V Newcastle Ko Cup Friday 26th April 2013
dantodan replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It will be great for northern speedway if all of our clubs trounce the southerners  I am pretty damn sure that the Diamonds are the north's premier side just check results as the weeks go by -
I thought Christian Henry was brilliant apart from his fall. He is a gater/ second bend blaster and was unbeaten by an opponent in all the races he finished. Richie and Ludvig have shone so far this season. If they can continue their early season form with Robbo and Christian also scoring well and with our two reserves always capable of doing the biz we can win trophies and titles. Andrew Tully's R/R rides come up trumps with the lads going so well. I only hope that Andrew waits until he is fully recovered before coming back. If he comes back to soon and struggles with fitness the team will suffer. Andrew is a great rider and I wish him well, want to see him ride for us, but please mate take the time it needs to recover fully from your injury as we are coping ok with R/R

Well done Lewis not just for your paid max but for away meetings at Scunthorpe and Workington, not easy places to take points off the home riders. If Lewis can keep this up for a whole season Newcastle will need restraining for the good of the PL Quite simply the best debut by a NL rider anywhere. Lewis take a bow the Newcastle crowd love you. Somebody remind me which club let him go to us?

Newcastle V Workington 31 March 2013 2nd Leg

I hope someone will remove the bookies signposts as they block the view a bit when you are forced to stand in that area. Er I know I don't have to stand there but you will know what I mean if you go there to watch. -
Workington V Newcastle 30 March 2013

that is fantastic and you will have more that have come by car. Brough Park is having work done on the covered terrace steps which are out of bounds to us all. So all the fans will be out in the open (the bar is unaffected however) lower down near the greyhound track, hope is doesn't rain as we will have nowhere to run to -

I ain't travelling for this one but a charge of a fiver Newcastle to Workington return is very good value. It will easily cost far more in petrol to get to Cumbria and back. How come the reciprocal coach Worky to Newcastle on Sunday is free? Who is footing the bill for that? Good deal for the Comets fans I hope you fill your coach as we need your cash through our turnstiles at Brough Park. This is a match that I think is impossible to forecast a score for. Andrew Tully may have hard shoes to fill (well! he is a big lad isn't he?) R/R for Andrew at least gives 4 of our lads another race each on the opening night of the season and the same tomorrow it all helps to blow away the cobwebs. If pressed for the score I will say a last heat decider and both sides could win it in heat 15 -
Hi Everyone, With 2 matches coming up at the weekend I would say its time to stop adding to this thread and for us to make our posts on the match threads otherwise we will spend the whole season posting on the Newcastle 2013 thread so lets change over now

Hi Tsunami Amazingly cold on Sunday(when we were there) and no better today. Brrrr! last year I am told it was 20 degrees celcius. Let us hope the weather is kinder to us next week for the opener and all summer as we will have no cover thanks to William Hill dragging his feet with the concrete steps
-
I was only there on sunday. So Andrew came a cropper on Monday?? I hope he is ok. I think he will overtake Stuart and be our number 1 rider in 2013, he was the fastest visitor in 2012 so what will he be clocking when he knows Brough like the back of his hand. Maybe Richie and Ludvig will with Stuart contest the number 1 spot but I am sure Andrew will do it for us, he moved on from Armadale at just the right time I think. Go on Andy prove me right

Just to get things moving, 10 days to go. Ian Thomas RIP ran both clubs well and it is fitting that our clubs contest the Ian Thomas Shield. Let's hope this wintery weather is out of the way by the end of the month
-
Naa probably not I was just rambling when I said that. I still wish him luck if he gets a NL place
-
Errr Sorry the mackem comment was meant to be a term of endearment for those of a red and white persuasion. less than 3 months to go now to kick off day lets hope this summer is blessed by better weather than 2012

Granty once looked good in the PL. I am not his biggest fan but I hope he has a great time in his comeback. I cannot think of any other Geordie rider. As a Geordie I hope that one day we will have a local rider to support. Robbo is a mackem Good luck Rob Grant you should do well in the NL. I am sure if you do well, the door will be left ajar at Brough. Its entirely up to you do well enough and PL clubs will want you

If Jason is not able to ride for us there is one guy who might be ok as second reserve. I really don't know if he will be worth the gamble but what about Rob Grant junior? He wants to ride again and at 28 yrs of age now he may not be as wild The following appears on the Speedway GB website: - FORMER Stoke rider Rob Grant is hoping to get on the comeback trail in the National League this season. The 28-year-old has Premier League experience from his time with the Potters, who have circulated his name to other clubs after Grant expressed his wish to return to the sport. Grant said: “I’ve found my enthusiasm for speedway again and I’m fit and well and have bikes, and am raring to go. “I have no issues with getting time off work and also have transport, and feel I could do a good job for someone in the National League.” I have no idea what Granty's average would be but he may fit in the side and maybe us Geordies should help each other, I would rather have Jason King but if he cannot ride and it comes down to Granty or Starkey, I think I would go for our local lad

Thats really early are you sure? Whats the lineup? If line up is good I will make the trip up to Sheilfield

Richie although we at Newcastle already know how good he was/is has it all to prove on the premier leagues tracks, Lets hope the Wigan twin can bounce back from injury and get amongst the points at Berwick ha.....and every other track, what date are you talking about?
