  1. The problem is that "the paper" may be talking rubbish but the Devils own website says that Bowden has agreed deals with Barker Werner and Glanz. Mind you, if he has changed his mind about Werner, few would blame him, so why doesn't he admit he had done a deal but one or other parties decided not to go ahead? This guy makes Matt Ford look like a saint.....well maybe that's going too far
  2. I am not sure why people keep banging on about Madsen as if it was the same situation. Last year, it was only certain FIM events (GP qualifier and under 21s?) that riders had to use the new silencers at. Not any GPs, World Cup nor any leagues. Madsen was caught and the FIM jury decided on the punishment. Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with the punishment won't change that decision. He was free to continue to ride wherever he wanted after that. Though, after the play-offs, maybe Poole wish he HAD been banned
  3. No - simply allow Coventry the same as whatever his 2011 starting average was, as that is proveably achieved using the correct silencer.
  4. So are you saying that Holder's performance last night (a win, a third and two falls) was because he was having to use a legal silencer for a change? What evidence do you have to back up such a dangerous accusation? Or if you didn't mean to implicate Holder in this whole sorry saga, why name him and only him. Maybe you have some inside knowledge that you would like to share with the rest of this forum? And the SCB of course
  5. Sorry - useless phone won't let me edit! What I meant was that Darcy was riding the inside line half the time rather than "20 cm from the fence". Pretty exciting it wad too
  6. Why do you say that and then come up with a load of biased comments? I don't see Darcy's alleged fall as that was during closed practice - how did you see it? I thought the meeting was anything but dull though it lost bit of sparkle after the heat 6 crash. Nothing to do with the track. Both Pawlicki brothers did a decent job, though Piotr was better than Shamek. Vaculik was pretty good for a first time visitor Michael Jepson Jensen wasn't as good as I thought he would be. Janowski was good value - as he was the last time he rode at Poole. The crowd wad a lot better than 1500. The stand at Poole holds 1200 and there were another couple of hundred in front of it plus the bends plus the glass fronted stand. I would guess at over 2000. There was a racing line close to the fence, but half the time, Darcy was riding right on the fence. And speaking if fences, it came from Swindon not Coventry. I rather suspect that Mr Sandhu would be reluctant to lend Mr Ford anything!! Otherwise, your report was "unbiased"....yeh, that'll ne right!!!
  7. But let me spin that one the other way - Coventry and Peterborough have been trying to use press releases to support a weak position whereas the BSPA, on legal advice, have been told to say nothing. The lack of press releases may be because, as nothing has changed, there is nothing to say. My guess (and it is only a guess) is that Coventry and Peterborough are stuffed. Peterborough because they went to press (these damn press releases again) saying they were DEFINITELY not taking part in the 2011 EL, and Coventry because, if the BSPA give in, then the rule book is even more worthless than it appears to be now. Now spin that!
  8. If Coventry & Peterborough do get back in, and I for one don't believe the spin coming out from Brandon that this is a bolt on, then that would require compromise on the constitutionally approved rule changes. Which in turn would surely require approval from all the teams not just the EL. Now, as the new conversion factor suits the PL - if you don't believe me, just look at the riders coming in like Wright, Gjedde, Risager etc - but it doesn't suit Coventry, and is one of the rule changes that Coventry want reversed, how likely do you think that the PL will be happy to see support Coventry's return? I think this still has a long way to go.
  9. Am I being thick? (probably!) But I can't see anything other than three identical press releases that say absolutely nothing. Other than they were having "discussions" to resolve issues and that there was a commitment to resolve matters amicably. My guess is that they have been drafted by lawyers. So the Coventry radio "leak" was surely premature? My guess is that this is NOT going to be resolved any time soon, especially with Christmas and New Year holidays to come. To be honest, it is now the Coventry riders I feel sorry for - not knowing if they have a job next year. Maybe that is the next legal threat to come, riders demanding to be released? Whatever happens, things cannot ever be the same again.
  10. Actually, I think you will find that there WAS something sinister in Merlin's comment - even though most "Weegies" seem to be paranoid these days!! He posted: "I spoke to Kevin on Friday night after the match against Somerset at Armadale and he told me he might be riding for Glasgow at Newcastle today (Monday). I wonder how he knew then? Mind you he thought it was Travis McGowan he was replacing! Strange....I understand he's on his way to Newcastle even as I post this." The implication of the comments "I wonder how he knew then" and "Strange" suggests that there WAS something sinister going on. Someone has pointed out that he wouldn't have replaced McGowan as that would only have been r/r and he also couldn't have come in as a guest if both Dicken and Branney had been out as his average is too high. So, either it WAS planned for both McGowan and either Dicken or Branney to be missing so that Glasgow could have a guest OR Screen deliberately got himself concussed yesterday so as to be ruled out on medical grounds today. I don't believe that about Screen so there MUST be something "strange" going on. Or have I missed something here???
  11. There are three rounds - tomorrow at Gillman, Sunday at Mildura and then on the 9th at Newcastle. Points are 20 for first down to 2 for 16th. Have a look at http://www.ma.org.au/AM/Template.cfm?Secti...entFileID=53436 for full details...including the prize fund!
  12. Is there no one doing an organised trip? I fancy going to this or else to the Czech Golden Helmet which is the same weekend but have no idea where to start in terms of flights, hotels etc so it would be good to do a preset trip
  13. never mind the decision - who is the guy in the edinburgh racejacket with duggo on his forks cover?
