I thought the issue was A programme has more pages of adverts than text and is vatable A magazine has more text than adverts and is not vatable Sheffields racecard was all adverts and racecard so vat was due.

Those of us that were at Exeter will never forgive Davey Watt and you must have Mad Max Schofield on the list

Whilst it would have been nicer to tell them earlier, I also welcome a new broom. it has been really irritating as a fan to watch and hear the secret code amongst the in crowd of ‘we know whats happening but we aren’t telling you.’ Welcome to terraces and life on the other side of the pits fence gentlemen.

With George English retiring does this mean that Newcastle are classed as a new promotion and 1. Don't get to vote at BSPA meeting for 2/3 years 2. Won't get priority over other Sunday tracks
-
Applying for grants in England when they play in Scotland seems a challenge. If they do not think they can get back into the Scottish senior leagues why not move to the English Northern League with opportunities to progress up the English pyramid
-
Are all matches starting at 5pm or just when there is a double header with the Gems?
-
Sheffield starts at 4pm. Time for them to do Newcastle practice then get to Sheffield
-
£14 each way? so £28 return?
-
Am I right in thinking that riders cannot be counted as 'assets'in the accounts as they could retire at any time. So the financial position of clubs with good rider assets will look worse. For example Poole used to own about 17 riders
-
The Newcastle website says two challenge matches included in season ticket but there is only one challenge in the fixtures. So still one match short
-
To be fair, it makes sense to wait until moneybags Glasgow and Somerset have sorted their teams and the remaining riders will realise they have to ride for realistic money and not play teams off against the big twos deals
-
Struggling to understand this one. Glasgow own the stadium and have no rent to pay. Their main outlay is riders wages. Their two top riders Craig Cook and Chris Harris both say they don't earn enough to pay the bills. Glasgow lost over £100,000

I thought the blank dates in the summer were to avoid clashing with world cup football dates which would reduce crowds
-
maybe they are updating it with some important news
-
As Sky have won the Monday Night Premier League rights again, BT need something to fill their screens on a Monday
-
They would if it is from five rides
-
Speedway Star says 'to lead the team' Could mean as No 1 or as Captain Anyone confirm what was meant
-
On the club website it lists George, Alan and Andrew Darby as owners. Is Andrew still a shareholder and involved? Also Darryl wasn't replaced as a promoter so if Alan quits we need at least one new promoter, who would have to be interviewed by the BSPA and approved which will take time
-
I think someone mentioned 1 December was the deadline to confirm that we are running. Is that right?
-
yes a great publicity stunt by Ian Thomas who later admitted that Tom signed a membership form for the junior section of the supporters club
-
There is still something not right. If Newcastle need financial support why just ask for a sponsor (with no influence) rather than a new investor/owner/promoter with influence? Surely all forms of support/investment should be encouraged There is still something not right. Sorry this does not stack up. Clubs had to tell the AGM if they were running or ask for a few more days to decide. If we asked for more time it would be strange to book a holiday. As George was on the Management Committee and hadnt missed an AGM for 20 years it seems strange for him to book a holiday when the AGM is held. Sponsors and season ticket holders want to know. What if your wife/partner wants to book a holiday for next year. Do you keep waiting to see if we are running. What if you have been a spinsor and another organisation asks you to help. Do you say yes because it looks like the speedway is not running. If they have been given more time then ask the fans for help. Several years ago they ran a grand raffle to be team sponsor. £50 a ticket every who buys gets there names in the program and one is drawn as the team sponsor. Think it was the Tap and Spile who won Supporters can also buy tickets

I am becoming more and more concerned. George not at the conference, George comes off the BSPA Management Committee, no statement or press release since conference, nothing on the Newcastle website, Workington seem to have been given an extension to declare they are running. Have Newcastle declared or have we got an extension as well? Surely a simple yes we are running or we are still trying to find a sponsor /can you help statement could be issued by Newcastle Speedway
-
Still nothing on the Diamonds website. Someone mentioned George was not at the conference -first time in 20 years? Who was there from Newcastle. Is there a new promoter at Newcastle or has Alan Hedley changed his mind (hopefully) Is there a new sponsor Lack of information or statement from the club is a little bit worrying

From the Diamonds website 5 October 0750am http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100795 George English No one knows what is going to happen next year, whether we will be running on a Sunday or a Monday, but the crucial question is will Newcastle Speedway be running at all? You can help answer that by turning up in force on Monday next – it’s a 7.30 start – and cheer on the Diamonds as they seek to avenge last season’s Cup final defeat by Glasgow.”
