Pirates Vs Roobins, Ela, 25 Mar 2016, 12 Noon
chris4gillian replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
My God, there are some sour gits on here...Poole won comfortably, that's a fact. Poole built their team to the points limit within the rules, another fact. Every promoter in the league had access to every available rider just like Poole, another fact. A number of the other teams built their team poorly, yet another fact. Matt Ford has pulled absolutely NO strokes so far, a big fat fact. So for once us genuine Poole supporters have a lot (and every right) to celebrate. GO PIRATES!!! -
Isn't that adequate?

Poole V Coventry Es First Leg 16/03/16
chris4gillian replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Newman made plenty of tactical change (i.e. substitute) rides last season and comfortably beat plenty of heat leaders and second strings at Poole so that negates the above highlighted statement. Some of us are saying we prefer Newman to Garrity for more reasons than just averages....and these are personal opinions. I have not once said one or the other is better, just expressed my own opinion. However, I have stated that I feel it's unlikely Garrity will ride for Team GB and it's very possible that Newman won't either, but Newman currently has the better style, control and ability IN MY OPINION. -

For the experience only (just like a handful of others), be sure to let me know if he (like the other handful) is ever picked for Team GB in a meaningful completion though won't you. I think Lisa is taking the rise Gem! Young, yes. Improving? Questionable. I already stated it was my personal opinion and justified why that opinion has been formulated. So stop quoting the figures argument. -

All those riders you've quoted are/have been better than Garrity...so that's a non-argument. I said it was my personal opinion only so averages are irrelevant. There are also other things to take into account...skill, ability, recklessness...etc. etc. -

Are you Garrity's brother? Only a fool would ever believe Garrity will ride for Team GB. As for Garrity being better than Newman, that's a matter of personal opinion. Personally I would pick Newman over Garrity every day of the week, but that's MY personal opinion. And I say that a speedway fan, not a Poole supporter. Do HM Revenues and Customs know about this? -

Officially he cannot earn more...and I will never post he can or does. Hilarious that innit. -

Ignore them Lisa, they haven't got a clue and if they wish to think that Matt Ford is giving him back handers (LOL!!) then let 'em. All we care about is Kyle loves Poole, wants to ride for Poole and is happy to fit around things to be accommodated knowing that he has the opportunity to rise up into the main body of the team...and I think he will at some point. Thank you Skids, the voice of reason saying the same (more or less) as I had posted -

Codswallop. Try reading what's been posted as it explains everything. Why you keep banging on about swelling bank balances is beyond me as there is an agreed rate per point for the EDR's. Kyle cannot earn over and above that while riding at No. 7 Garriity doesn't have the right attitude at all, he thinks he's better than he actually is and has no team spirit because it's all about himself so he refused to ride as an EDR. Coventry are giving him a chance to prove himself. Would any other team do that at this stage of his ability? I think not. Just accept that Coventry have completely and utterly cocked up with their team building and Poole have played a blinder. End of. Oh and as for Rosco even looking at Garrity let alone considering him -

chris4gillian replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No I think you're talking rubbish...Kyle is on the agreed EDR rate the same as ALL of them. Kyle wants to ride for Poole, Kyle wants to do what's best for Poole and Kyle listens to Matt Ford and how he wants to build a team. He had a choice and chose to remain with Poole as their senior EDR. Get over it fella. -

Because Kyle is a team man, Garrity isn't. -

Unless I've gone senile, I remember reading somewhere that it was Matt Ford who really wanted Kyle to remain in the EDR position at the start of 2016 for team building purposes. Kyle was a bit reluctant, but knows that he can move up should averages allow so that is why he remained at No. 7 All these 'he has no ambition' posts are way off the mark!! -

Absolutely spot on. Another foresight by Matt Ford. You have gone from one extreme to another there Gav! Kyle is not the 'second coming' and as far as I can ascertain I've not seen any Poole supporters say he is. He will however hold his own as a second string at home, maybe not away so much, should he move up. That is a real Poole supporters honest opinion. -

That's completely irrelevant, if Coventry wanted Buzz (instead of say Danny K) then they should have gone for him. They didn't so it's pointless groaning about it. As I have made acutely clear on here a number of times, I'm not always a huge fan of some of the things our promotion get up to however Matt F has played a blinder with our team building for 2016. -

What folk need to remember is ANY club could have signed Buzz or Hans...Poole just had the vision to do it when other clubs didn't. As Skids would say, simples. -

100% agree Tripple P This should (on paper) be a pretty convincing win, however us (true) Poole supporters know that our team don't always fire from the off so the result maybe a little closer than some of the non-Poole supporters are posting! Ignore him Gem, he never engages his brain before posting -
Holder To Comeback Stronger?

Spot on. -
Including Bomber at most GP's. However he seems to turn up at the SWC. If fit the team IMO will be 4 of Woofy (nailed on), Bomber (another certainty) and two of Scotty, Lambert and Cookie. If it wasn't being held at the National Stadium I'd go with Scotty and Lambert, but I think Cookie may nick it if performing well on his home track...and this could be at the expense of Scotty not Lambert. I reckon Rosco will go with form at the time rather than just the 'bigger' names Or will he just opt for youth and future building over experience? As someone else says, it's good to be talking about options for us for the first time in a few years Oh and Scotty has fully explained his reasoning in making himself available “For me it’s not just about trying to achieve a gold medal right now, although that would be lovely to do, and this season is our best chance for a number of years – we know how good we are on home soil, even though it’s a brand-new track which might take away some of the advantage. “But it’s also about the future. I’m pleased with what they’re trying to do and the people who they have on board, and I feel the future looks much more positive". I guess that could be interpreted as 'a good chance to end on a high' but for me it's more 'out with the old, in with the new and I'm happy to be part of it once again'.
